As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears

Moving on with the current of the years.

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We have stayed at POFQ multiple times - it is one of our favorite Disney resorts. We love the theming and how small it is - so easy to walk anywhere in the resort. The boat to Disney Springs is a nice bonus.
Nice savings and good one with POFQ! Nice resort with everything within walking distance!

October 6, 2017-Enjoying an amazing dinner at Victoria & Albert's with PP's Dot and Drew
My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
Wow!! Where does the time go once school starts up? I feel like I haven't even had a spare minute to think about our trip...but it's almost FP day!!
So, while I'm going through all of this FP stuff in my head, I figured I would type it up in a new post too
Here's a quick rundown of our plan so far...feel free to critique or make suggestions!!
11/15: Arrival day
-We won't be getting in until about 8pm, so just heading to the hotel and getting a good night's sleep to hit the parks early the next day!
11/16: HS
-We have a lunch ADR at 50's PT.
-Working FP's around that and the tiers at HS. I'm thinking that we should FP RnRC and head to TSMM first thing. Other than that we will FP ToT, not sure what other one we should do....any suggestions??
-Might take a break midday and come back for Star Wars fireworks or Fantasmic depending on Nov schedule
11/17: MK
-Definitely going to try for 7DMT, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain
-Super excited about this....I scheduled a photo shoot for us this evening!! We haven't had family pictures done in forever, what better place to do them than Disney!
11/18: EPCOT morning
-Still not sure whether to FP TT or Soarin...ugh, I hate the tiers
Frozen isn't really a draw for us, actually both kids requested that we avoid anything with Anna and Elsa...
-Plan is to stay at EPCOT until lunchtime, then back to the hotel for a break, then MVMCP that evening! Super excited about the party, we've never been. I hear mixed reviews, but it's something I want to experience at least once
-So, the only thing with the party is that I have a BOG ADR at 6:05pm. It was the only time I could get our whole trip and one of DD's only requests. I want to keep it, but the fact that we are wasting party time does bug me a bit....
11/19: AK
-Ok, I know...I know...no early mornings after late nights. But...DH requested Tusker House Breakfast and this was the only day I could do it. The thing is, I know my family and I'll tell them to sleep in, but no one will and everyone will be awake by 6am anyway...so why not schedule an 8:20 ADR?!?
-So, other than the ridiculous early morning ADR...let's move on...
-Planning to get FP's for EE, KS, and possibly KRR.
This is our last WDW day before we head to US. The plan is to take a bus from AK to Dolphin to pick up our rental car. Then we'll head back to the hotel for a break. We may play mini golf or maybe head back to AK for evening entertainment....or just crash early because I planned that late night/early morning combo...
11/20: US/IOA
-Plan is to head over to US early (~6:30ish) to check in, get our tickets and express passes, and head to the park.
11/21: US/IOA and going home
-Flight isn't until the evening, so we'll head to the parks until early afternoon then head to the airport.
I know...it's kind of a crazy whirlwind schedule, but hopefully there are enough breaks to make it doable. Plus, we all have 6 days off when we get back from our trip to relax at home

Lucky you getting to avoid Elsa and Anna... I did probably a bad thing...DGD (who doesn't even know she's going to Disney) doesn't know about the new Elsa and Anna ride... I may try to get a fp on the fly...
