As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

New Episode of Lost Tonight
For all you Lost viewers, don't forget that tonight is a new episode. This one will center on Sun and Jin again and will have a lot of subtitles. I've heard that the opening of the show is entirely in Korean with subtitles, so be sure not to miss it.

Re: New Episode of Lost Tonight
It is about time because I am really losing interest. They are really inconsistent with the re-runs and new shows and it is taking forever to find anything. I am really kinda bummed because I really like the show.

Re: New Episode of Lost Tonight
I was listening to the Official Lost Podcast this morning on the way to work an they explained why they have so many reruns. I guess since it takes about 3 weeks to put together each episode they are stretching themselves by making 24 episodes for this season. And since the season is really about 36 weeks long, some reruns have to be shown. The network likes the new episodes to be on at the start of the season then again during each sweeps period which are in November, February and May. So.....that's why you get all the reruns in between those times. They did say that they were able to convince ABC to show more new episodes in a row in order to keep people interested in the shows. Of course that also means longer stretches of reruns from time to time. One thing I found interesting is that when they make an episode, they sometimes don't get it to the network until a couple hours (sometimes less) before it is to air on the East Coast. They literally are racing against the clock to get them done on time.

Re: New Episode of Lost Tonight
Interesting! Tonight's episode was really good. So, is Henry an other or not? I think he is, but it looks like they are going to find the balloon. And what's with the hatch closing up on Locke? Looks like next week is going to be good!

Re: New Episode of Lost Tonight - Discuss!!!!
OK!!!! I'm SOOOO confused!!!
Did Sun sleep with the bald guy or not??? Part of me thinks she did, because of the look on her face when she and Jin were hugging. The other part of me thinks that maybe the island healed Jin??? DH said if the island can heal Locke and make him walk, then maybe Jin got healed too. I hope that's the case. I LOVE Sun, and I'd hate to think she was a two-timer.
So...Henry Gale! Yes, he is SOOOOO an Other! Why else would he think the way he did AND say it outloud?!?!? He's a cool character!! "Got any milk?" BOOM. Great ending!
I'm so glad next week is NEW!!!!!

Re: New Episode of Lost Tonight - Discuss!!!!
Henry is definitely an other - don't you know the others could have planted that balloon to back up his story?
I'm undecided on Sun, there seems to be something strange about her reaction to this pregnancy, like she is not convinced it is a miracle.
I think they are not going to press the button on the next episode we see.

Re: New Episode of Lost Tonight - Discuss!!!!
I agree... They forget to press the button.....thus the closing doors in the hatch.
I was sure Sun had been unfaithful...until she said she hadn't been. I believe her. I think it's a miracle baby....she just isn't sure what to think about it all yet...thus the wierd faces.
I think the balloon is there....because it had to be to make him believeable in his story so that he wouldn't look like he's an Other. The Others had his story all worked out before hand. He is definitely one. And he loves playing mind games.
Hurley and the candy bar! He's a hoot.
Sawyer....Daddio. Love it when Jin got that reference.

Re: New Episode of Lost Tonight - Discuss!!!!
They showed the balloon (or A balloon, anyway) in the previews for next week.
I think Sun got knocked up by the Super Secret Power of the Island. I also think the writers need to quit with the crazy new plotlines and answer a few old ones. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DESMOND?????

Re: New Episode of Lost Tonight - Discuss!!!!
Henry Gale freaks me out! I cannot figure him out at all. I want to believe he's an Other. But what if the producers are messing with us and he really is who he says he is. I don't know, but what he said about the map and the ambush last night was twisted. I loved it.
I think Sun did cheat on Jin but she won't tell him because she knows how much the baby means to him. That doesn't mean that the baby isn't Jin's though.
Some things I've learned on the podcasts is that they will address the issue of Michael & Walt's disappearance by the end of this season. They also will address what happens when someone doesn't push the button, but they didn't say when that would happen. They hinted that there is a name for the medical hatch, but didn't give it away. The other two hatches are the "swan" and the "arrow".
Also, does anyone read the "Lost Diary" on ABC's Lost website? I keep trying to figure out how it fits in, but recently there was an entry about how Jack & Locke are holding this person's brother captive. And the writer of the diary mentions how this is "not their island."

Re: New Episode of Lost Tonight - Discuss!!!!
I think the weird looks on Sun's face has to do with the fact that she is thinking if things keep going the way they have been, they won't be rescued before the baby is born. I.E. no chance for an epidural.
But really, considering all the things that have happened to Claire and Aaron, I think she is just really scared. I would be. I think she was faithful, which is just adding to her concerns.
As far as Henry goes, who knows? The first thing I thought of when I saw Anna, Sayid and Charlie coming into the clearing was "What a great place for an ambush". Then it goes back to Henry and he starts talking about it.
One thing I know about this show is never to think I have it figured out. Just when I think I do, something happens that blows my theory.
