As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Scrapbook Extravaganza 2005 the TR
<font color="blue"> Scrapbook Extravaganza 2005
Who: Me and my Sister Sue
When: 7/29/05 - 7/31/05
Where: The Convetion Center in Indianapolis
Hotel: The Westin
We left from home around 11am. Sue and I had been up since 7am.
Sue need to get blood work done and I had to go to the bank. WE arrived at the Westin about noon, and found our room ready. We had room 412. Here are some pictures of our view and Sue in the room.
Our View
a fountian that isn't on.

Sue in the room
It was a small room and the bathroom was just a bit bigger then what one would find on a ship. After a bit of a rest we walked to the Eiteljorg Museum (It features American Indian and Western Art). It was add on to so we wanted to find out what was new. That would be a resource center, nothing we need to use. After a quick look at the special exhibit, Art work by Edward Weston, we head to the State Museum for lunch and to renew Sue membership. For lunch we had a foot long hotdog, shared some fries and diet soda.
As Sue renewed the membership we also got tickets to an exhibit of Lord Of the Ring, There will be movie props on display and you have to sign up for a day and time you want to see it. Seeing how it was already 2pm we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner and a look around The Circle Center Mall. Indianapolis has a skywalk witch is a walkway that has bridges over the street. The Westin has one connected to the Convention Center (where the crop is) and it winds down to the mall so we walked it to the mall and right to the Disney Store.
Always the first stop. We found the had added Scrapbooking stuff from EK Success
Not much yet, they had the Whale of a punch Mickey Icons and stickers, plus 2 different albums. We picked up stickers that said Disney Vacation with sand and shells along the bottom. You never know we might need them tomorrow.
At 4:50 we went to Ruth Chris for dinner. This place was nice. To start with I had French
Onion Soup, Sue had Lobster bisque. Sorry I didn’t bring my camera. We both got the Petit Filet, Sue wanted Shoe String potatoes, I was going to have mashed when our server told us that the sides were enough for 2 to eat. (This place serves alacart (SP?))
So we got just the Shoe String potatoes. What a mount of them. OK just a note here: PLEASE do not yell at me for the next thing I had. We did a lot of walking this week end and I was very careful about what I ate. For dessert we both had Crème Brule. It was wonderful. I don’t get to have it often so this was a treat. We stopped at the bathroom and while sue washed her hands some old lady was next to her and looked her up and down then put her nose in the air. I guess she did like the Jeans and casual shirt she was in. This place was kind of upscale but others we dressed like us.
We went back to the mall for there was a Sam Goodies and I had been looking for a CD by a guy named Ricky Warwick. Good thinking by Sue I found it, now I don’t have to order it online. It was time to go back to the room We both were tired and decided to skip seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory again. Off to bed we had to be up and out by 8:15am.
The next morning we were out by 8:15 we went straight to registration for the crop. We didn’t bring our stuff just yet so after registration we got our things so we could claim a spot at a table. We look around at the booths one there was called Forget me not and they had kits we found 6 or 7 Disney ones and 2 cat ones. They announced that if you want to display a layout you can get a chance to win a $50 gift card from Archivers. So I picked out a layout and got my raffle ticket. They didn’t judge the layout. Here is the one I picked which folks seemed to like. We then left and had breakfast at Shula’s. We both had the Hoosier Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, 2 biscuits, gravy and potatoes. Very good.
My layout
We didn’t do any classes they didn’t sound interesting. I ran into one of the ladies from our Crop group. I hadn’t thought I would see anyone I knew there. That was cool. We did stop for lucnh and a break in our room.
We crop all day and I only got 4 pages done. We packed up and left about 6pm.
Here the ones I got done
This is the kit I did
Better veiw of Left side
Better Veiw of right side
We went back to the mall to eat at Johnny Rockets. For dinner it was burgers, fries and onion rings. Sue wanted to see if the record store had the import of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. They didn’t have it so back to the room. On the way thought the sky walk a man and Woman walked by us. I was looking at him thinking he looks like George Lopez. I sort heard him say something most just heard how is voice sound and it made me think it was him more. Then we saw him on TV doing his stand up and I was looking at his height. He knows people here in Indy so it would not surprise me if it was him. I truly think it was.
Ok here is another note: we brought soda with us to the hotel and to cool it we put ice in the bathroom sink and put them in it. This work out well except having to use the tub to wash our hands. Hope some of you can use this tip.
I was asleep before 10pm.
Next morning we got up showered dressed had breakfast at Shula’s again, Sue had eggs bacon, potatoes and toast, I had a steak omelet with potatoes and toast. We shared some grits. Check out was at 11 am so at 10am we called for a bell hop. We had the same guy that helped us when we checked in. We left and spent an hour at the zoo (just checking out the tigers and Polar bears.) headed out to surprise mom at home. She wasn’t expecting us till late in the day.
Over all we had a great time and would do it again. Maybe next time there will be classes we want to go to. </font>

Sounds like you and your sister had fun. The 2-page layout from the kit is my favorite, but all your pages came out great.
