As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Will The World Survive us??! Updated 5/29/05
Suspects:
Maureen: wanted by the occupants of the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Lynn: wanted for taking one too many self portraits by the Photo Union workers.
Sandy: wanted by Ariel for feeding flounder to Sebastian.
Terri: wanted by the Grand Floridian Spa for actually trying to relax.
Angie: wanted by the NYPD for trespassing in the Disney Store.
Tara: wanted by MGM to sign a major motion picture contract.
Tina: wanted by airlines everywhere for getting too many good deals on travel.
Sue: wanted by the Mafia for the contents in her convertible trunk.
Target Dates for apprehension: May 12-17, 2005. With perhaps an additional early start date of May 11, 2005 to catch Terri and more than enough added time to catch that Tara O'Hara.
Location of sting set up: The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa at the Walt Disney World Resort
These are our band of roving girls. They were last seen headed to various airports going South in the direction of Orlando, some of them carrying containers of Starbucks coffee. There is a net of crimefighters set up at the gates of Walt Disney World at this very moment awaiting their arrival. Will they be stopped???? Can they be stoppped????
Stay tuned to find out.........
Hey you guys! With just 10 days to go, I wanted to get something going in the way of a trip report here. Here is my story:
Right after I returned from my last vacation to WDW, I naturally started getting the 'when am I going back again' itch! I talked to Muffin and somehow convinced him that I should go again in May with Maureen, Lynn, Terri, Sandy and Angie. I'm not sure how I pulled that one off, but he said it was fine and I think he was relieved that I wasn't asking him to go again! Anyway! I PM'ed Maureen right after the holidays and asked if there was still room in the posse for one more adventurer. She said, 'Yup!' and the rest is history! Interestingly enough, around the same time, Tina and then Sue also joined our group! So, now there are eight of us, staying in three rooms at the beautiful Grand Floridian Resort.
In addition, I decided somewhere along the way that I simply could not go to Disney World without staying at AKL for at least a night. I bamboozled one extra night out of Muffin and booked my stay! So I would now go down one day earlier than those guys and spend a night at AKL. What better way to start off a vacation then to go to your dream place within a dream place??? Then! Terri- also somewhere along the line, PM'ed me and asked if I wanted some company that first night! She said it would be easier for her and less to worry about if she came down and got settled in before we picked everyone else up at MCO. I said, 'Sure!' Then!! Donna somehow also bamboozled a trip out of Dan. She tried to get it to coincide with our trip but couldn't make the dates work, so she wound up with dates that started the day we were to leave. Donna and I are friends and there was no way that I was passing up an opportunity to hang out with her too! So! Back to more schmoozing Muffin! I must have hit him with all of these add ons at exactly the right times or he truly just does not pay attention to me at all because he said,'Sure' again!!!! I asked Donna if she and Drew would mind a roomie for three nights of their stay and she was more than happy to oblige!! So! Now I am also booked at the HRH at Universal for three additional nights! A total of ten days in Orlando!!
So! Here are my plans for the first day:
My flight leaves PHL at 8AM. It should arrive in Orlando somewhere around 10:30AM. I will be renting a car at the airport and driving straight to AKL. I will settle in and then head to the MK to meet Jillybean and Mary Devall. Terri is coming at a mystery time as of now. SHe may be there to join us, she may not. In any case, she will definitely be there for our 6:30 dinner reservation at Jiko with Sheila. After a leisurely dinner, we are planning to head over to MK for EMH that evening.
Next: More planning details revealed!

Re: Will the World Survive us?! A preamble
Oh.... We have a BOLO for us (Be on the lookout).... Wow - so the spa wants me??? I'll surrender.
I am not quite sure WHEN I signed on to this trip - but I do remember how. Maureen sent me an email and asked me is I wanted to join Sandy, Lynn, Angie and her at WDW for a week in May. I had been trying to figure out my summer vacation and knew I wanted it done before hurricane season set in -- since if this summer is anything like last summer -- planning my vacation in the middle would be a very very bad idea (for those that don't know - I am a primary responded to distasters for my job and my vacation on the DCL and to WDW last year almost evaporated due to hurricane duty). So when Mo presented May 12-17 -- I jumped on it. Sounded like such a great idea. AND I would get to meet Lynn and Angie (I had already met Sandy and Mo).
NOt long after that - Miss Tara, Miss Tina and Miss Sue were added to the trip -- 8 girls in 3 rooms at the Grand Floridian (thanks to Maureen's wonderful Travel agent rate). I can't wait.
As Tara said - when she announced she was headed down to WDW on the 11th instead of the 12th - I thought that would be a better option for me - give me a moment to get relaxed before having to drive to MCO to gather some of the girls. I PMed her and asked if she wanted a roomie for the night -- and so "TnT" (yep - we are explosive) was born.
I am not sure what time I will arrive on the 11th yet -- it depends on if I have to go to Ft. Lauderdale on Tuesday the 10th or not - that is still up in the air - but I hope to have it resolved this week (I better). That trip will dictate wether I am leaving from FLL or JAX on the morning of the 11th - either way - I am driving to WDW.
My goals for this week - (to borrow from Aretha) R-E-L-A-X!!!! I am turning off the blackberry (and leaving the phone in the room) and I just want to hang out, drink, swim, eat great meals and enjoy a slower pace (if that's possible with Tara around!!!).
Watch out world - here we come!!!

Ummm... ...it's Steve's car! I swear it!!!
I remember seeing this trip floating around for a few days and thinking how much fun it would be. I decided to see if there was room for one more..and there was! I jumped at the chance. I told DH that there was this girl's trip, and, well, I would really love to go, and well...to his credit, he never even flinched! He told me to go from the start! So between my leftover DVC points, a great AP rate, and a cool roomie (Hi Tina ) we booked the third room in the series at the beautiful GF!
I booked an awesome airfare on United out of Allentown that will drop me in Orlando at about 12:30, where I will meet up with the rest of the outlaws...uh, I mean girls!! Yea, that's what I meant!
I do have to add 2 things: First of all, everyone that I have told about the "all girls" vacation is so jealous of the awesome time we are going to have! And second of all, after the lengthy flight home with my two boys (DH and DStepS) from Orlando in January (the wonderful weather in Philadelphia gave us a four hour layover in Atlanta)where I listened to 4 solid hours of bilateral whining as if I had personally made it snow in Pennsylvania to delay their lives, I really needed this non-whining, all girls, nothing is my fault trip!
