Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

šoš MVMCP photos with families and groups suggestions.

<font color="blue"> šoš I was remembering a few things that happened to me and others at the Magic Kingdom's Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

šoš Each MVMCP ticket should receive a free photo with each ticket.

šoš When I was by myself, I filled out the mailing card after showing my MVMCP armband or ticket and they checked me off a list and they took my picture in front of a holiday theme. When I received the picture, they had put a Disney border around the picture.

šoš When I went with a group after having dinner together at Crystal Palace before the MVMVP started, we headed off to the Adventureland and we each filled out a mailing address card and requested that the ten of us be in the same photo. They helped us arrange three rows, and tool one photo, but took all of our cards and they mailed us each picture from the single photo.

šoš I say all this because I have seen families with three or four or more family members with each family member with their own MVMCP tickets, but the people handing out the cards said that they could only send one picture to only one address each regardless of the number of people in the family living at the same address.

šoš If you are a family, why don't you say that you need a different mailing address card for each one of your MVMCP tickets, because you are going to mail each card to a different address. Then you could fill out a card to your grandparents and brother or sister or other relative, depending on how many tickets you have. Or if you personally want more than one photo then mail it to another address, such as your office, or friend or neighbor. They will collect all your cards and only take one picture of your family, like they would for a group. This way you can share the picture with others.

šoš Also, don't forget to pick up your MVMCP pin and hot chocolate and cookies. The MVMCP pin is not the small WDW pins that you but, but are the stamped out pins that are a couple of inches in diameter.

šoš If you like to collect WDW pins, they do sell the MVMCP tradeable pin. I have always had to go to the MK Mainstreet store and ask the lady behind the counter for one. And I think that they only sell them on the night of MVMCP is held. Of course, my experience at buying these pins are in the first week of December. They may sell them out in the open later in December.

šoš Well, I hope that I am not repeating old information and if I am wrong, I'm sure a more experienced Passporter will update it here.

šoš I hope to see some of you this December. I'll be going to MVMCP on December 9th and maybe the 2nd.

šoš I'll also be at the Passporter Mousefest DCL Wonder Cruise on December 5th.

Pins - I remember that they sell different pins for each MVMCP. So if you go twice, you'll get 2 different pins. I believe they are limited to 2 per ticket.

And they sell special tee shirts for the party. How many Disney tee shirts can one person have.

They have special pins for AP holders to buy, too, right? I've seen them from previous years on eBay. I'll be at MVMCP on 12/16 -Stephanie

Thanks for the info! I am hoping that I can send another picture to myself to another address, will try it this year and see what happens. Are your names printed on the tickets for the MVMCP? Also thanks for the little tidbit about the pins, I will have to ask about them too!

Re: šoš MVMCP photos with families and groups suggestions.

I know for sure that we got 5 photos of our family last year, and we only have 2 addresses to send them to. I think we actually may have had them all sent to the same address, because I think we got them all at the same time. I'm pretty sure we each filled out a card. I'll see what the others remember tonight.

Re: šoš MVMCP photos with families and groups suggestions.

When we went to MVMCP last year, it was just my husband and I and we do, of course, live at the same address. But Disney still got us to each fill out a card and we received one photo each in the mail afterwards. Perhaps some of the CM's manning the tables in front of the photo booths are not as knowledgable as others so I would just make sure that they give you one card to fill out for each and every member of your party, even if you all have the same address.

And you're so right about the MVMCP pins being kept under the counter out of sight. You do indeed have to ask for them. I didn't even find out that they existed until after we had attended the party so we were out of luck last year. This year I'll be ready for them.

Hi Ray,

Are you saying that you get a free MVMCP pin with your ticket? If so where do you pick it up? I am sure going to check out the ones they sell too.

Re: šoš MVMCP photos with families and groups suggestions.

<font color="blue"> šoš Hi, Bob. The free pin that I am trying to describe is not the tradeable pins that you buy. It is a stamped pin, about three inches in diameter, and decorated with a MVMCP holiday scene. I have always picked one up when I went to take my MVMCP photo.

šoš The special tradeable MVMCP pin that costs money, I have found on Mainstreet in the store, and I had to ask the castmember behind the counter for one. Years ago, the special, MVMCP, tradeable pin that you had to pay for was the same pin for every MVMCP night. Then last year or the year before, they started making a separate MVMCP, tradeable pin for each one of the MVMCP nights. WDW knows how to make money on pins...lol.

I hope that this makes since. If I knew what they call the three inch, stamped, non-tradeable, MVMCP pin, believe me I would. Does anyone else know what this pin is called?

šoš Bobmouse, if you would like, I will be glad to give you my MVMCP pin from last year.

šoš And come to think of it, concerning the pictures, those people may not even be castmembers at the photo sessions at the MVMCP.

šoš So even if they ask how many are in your party, like a mom, dad, and two children, and they only hand you one mailing card to fill out by mistake. Ask them for four mailing cards so that you can get a picture for each MVMCP ticket that you bought. Since that is included in each ticket price.

šoš And hi Matt.
