The puppy isnt eating twice a day anymore. Dosent seem to be sick, but he used to eat as soon as he woke up at 6am or so and then again at 6pm. Now he dosent eat until about 4pm(I fill his bowl up in the am, but he dosent touch it) and wouldnt eat again late last night.

Is that just a normal progression from puppyhood to adulthood? He is 13 or 14 months old now.

On to my other problem "child". Our 8 year old persian keeps throwing up; at least once per day. We shave him, so he dosent get hairballs, so I know that isnt it. He had a bad bladder infection around Christmas time, so the vet gave us new food and antibiotics. Did the anitbiotic course and he didnt seem to have a problem w/the food(science diet), but about 2 weeks ago, he started throwing up everywhere. Not food, but bile.

So, do we take him back to the vet, or do we switch him back to his old food(the food he has eaten since he was a kitten) and see if that helps? He is acting so strangley now, that I wonder if he isnt very very sick. That would break my daughter's heart, as he was a 5th birthday present, and I think the other kitty will just freak out if something were to happen to her "man".

At 14 months, the puppy can be down to one meal a day. BUT if he just suddenly stopped eating one meal, that may be an indication that he is not feeling well. Has he been checked for worms? That's a pretty common problem. Is he active? Did you change foods? I would have him checked for worms and go from there.

As for the cat, if he is not acting right, it might warrant a trip to the vet. If he was acting OK, I would suggest going back to the old food, but the strange behavior is cause for concern. Is he urinating? I know that sounds kind of odd, but male cats tend to get blocked bladders, especially if he had a bladder infection. This is an emergency situation and needs to be attended to quickly. The way to tell is to just put a tiny bit of litter in his box and check. The vomiting could be a sign of many things, kidney problems, etc. I think you should bring him back to the vet.

Well, they seem to be heading my pleas to either get better or learn to speak!LOL!!

Switched the cat back to his old food and he has not thrown up today at all and he seems to be perkier. Still going to take him to the vet and make sure he does not have an infection re-occurance.

The puppy still wont eat when he used to, but he did eat his first feeding at 12pm and then ate half of his bowl this evening at 8pm. That cant continue, because I have him on a regimenated potty schedule, but I will figure something out. He is going to go to the vet w/the cat for a checkup. It should not be worms since he is up-to-date on his treatments and shots, but the vet will check just in case.

We had a St Bernard who got heart worms many years ago before he was old enough to take heartworm pills(he got infected either before we brought him home or shortly after). he started w/not eating too and then got rapidly sicker. In fact, if he had gotten any sicker, we would have had to put him to sleep. We were simply running out of money to be able to continue care and didnt want to see him suffer. Thankfully 2,500 was enough to get him well again; that and a vet who love St. Bernards and was willing to throw in some of his services for free.

With our puppy, she stopped eating meals simply because she was so excitable and she ccouldn't settle down to eat! Eventually, she slowed down (especially when she started to get hungry!) and has settled into a schedule. Still, getting the pup and cat checked out is good! (look for Diabetes in the kitty as well--our kitty got diabetes and it wasn't fun!)
