As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

I\'ve got the baby blues...
Well I'm little more than 3 weeks from my due date and I'm feeling totally overwhelmed and downright blue - at a time when I know I should be filled with happiness and anticipation We went to the Dr. last night (I go weekly now on Mondays until she's born) and am making no progress whatsoever - I know, it's early yet, but I'm feeling so...icky, for lack of a better word. My belly is HUGE, my legs are swollen (I have no boots that will fit when this 12 inches of snow we're due to get hits - all I've got in slip on backless sneakers that are one size bigger than my usual size and still too tight), I can't sleep because a)I can't get comfy and b)I have to get up to go to the bathroom every about 2 hours. I'm impatient with my poor, beautiful little boy Shane and have yelled at him more in the past 2 weeks than I probably have in his whole life He's so strong minded, willful and independent - doesn't want me to do anything for him - and instead of being proud of him, I get angry. I'm getting nervous about the delivery - if that time ever comes - and am just feeling all around overwhelmed. Plus this goshawful weather doesn't help, since I can't really get out much other than to take Shane to and from school and I don't even know if I'll be able to do that tomorrow - sooo sad because they're having a birthday party for one of his little friends...could I feel like a worse mother?
I guess I'm just overwhelmed with hormones, anxiety and exhaustion. I'm so, so excited about our daughter's birth and love her immensely already, I just wish I could fast forward to the day after she's born...
Thanks for listening and letting me vent

Re: I\'ve got the baby blues...
Oh, Jeannie, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know how you feel, though, being cooped up in the house. I felt thankful some days to go to work when I was pg with Jalen, b/c I just needed to do 'something', 'anything'.
And patience does wear thin. Just remind Shane how very much you love him. It is hard those last few weeks - I remember them all too well. Hang in there and know we are always hear to 'listen'. Can't wait until we get the big news little Skylar is here

Re: I\'ve got the baby blues...
Boy do I feel your pain! I think I'm even having a little Post-traumatic stress reaction! I was so determined that I was going to have Ella early, that I was prepared two weeks early that she was going to come NOW, as Peyton had been 9 days early. Those days stretched on like eternity. I think someone said that for every day you're pregnant at the end feels like a week! Boy that sure was true in my case. I too could not get comfortable to sleep and was up every 45-90 minutes to pee. I had heartburn horribly and was having contractions (albeit pointless) all the time. It was such a different experience than with Peyton. With Ella I had not slept through the night since a week before I found out I was pregnant. Needless to say, I was one scary woman/wife/mother!
The good news is that she's not going to college from your womb. She will come out in her own time. And we'll all pray for sooner as opposed to later! Even more importantly than being patient with Shane be patient with YOURSELF! Your body is doing an amazing thing! It's creating, sustaining and soon giving birth to a beautiful little girl! Take baths (if they're helpful), eat a little chocolate, and put your feet up often! You need to rest, because I can attest that once she shows up, nothing will ever be the same again ! I actually had several people ask me what was wrong as they thought I was too happy and enthusiastic. I took Peyton to Kindermusic the following week, we went for walks, etc. That euphoric feeling lasted a good 2-3 weeks. I was just so relieved to be able to breath, only get up 2x a night, and not to have to pee every 5 minutes that I felt awesome! It will get better! Give Shane a giant squeeze! God bless!

Re: I\'ve got the baby blues...
Oh, Jeannie, I wish I could just jump in the car and come up there to cheer you up! If it weren't for this yucko storm headed our way - that's exactly what I'd do! Let me know if you think you'd be up for some company later this week or even on Saturday and DJ and I will head up there for the day with a great big pot of my special tortellini stew.
In the meantime, I'm sending big hugs to you and Shane from me and Donovan. We wish we could be there to cheer you up!
BTW - if you have a recliner in the house or can borrow one from a friend for a few weeks - you may be able to get a little more sleep sitting up. That helped me tremendously those last few uncomfortable weeks.

Re: I\'ve got the baby blues...
Boy do I remember those days when I was waiting for my DD to be born. And she decided to be 8 days late, the little stinker.
Hang in there and remember we're all here for you. Take extra good care of yourself right now, drink tons of water and try to relax. Maybe a little pampering is in order, have DH and Shane wait on you for a day or evening or go to a salon and have your hair or nails done. I had a pregnancy massage when I was in my last trimester that was wonderful, you might check and see if a local spa offers something for expectant moms.
I just can't wait to see some pictures of beautiful little Skylar when she gets here. Give Shane some extra hugs and tell him to hang in there too and that mommy will be back to normal soon.

Re: I\'ve got the baby blues...
Oh Jeannie,
I wish I could take some of your discomfort away. Although I've never been through it before, I feel for you and am sending dust, lots of and some wind to blow that storm away!!! Lean on Joseph for help right now and hang in there with Shane. Go give him a big hug and wet kiss to make him giggle. Maybe he could rub some lotion on your tummy as a quiet activity. He could be doing a good deed for little sister.
Vent all you want. We are here to listen!

Aww Jeannie, you're in the home stretch now! I wish I could offer some words of wisdom, but it's just something you get through. Like labor. I know you must be exhausted by now. I hope you are able to relax and maybe enjoy some chocolate. Hugs to you, Shane, Joseph and your little princess! Take it easy on yourself. Before you know it, this will all be behind you.

Re: I\'ve got the baby blues...
How well I remember those last couple of weeks before the boys were born - both summer babies, in Texas!
You will only be miserable for a little while longer, but you will be blessed with Skylar for the rest of your life!

Re: I\'ve got the baby blues...
Boy, do I know how you feel. I'm sure you're feeling much worse about yelling at Shane than he is - don't worry about that one. Try and rest! I like the recliner idea, I seem to recall doing that, too. Eat some ice cream. I swear I had the cutest baby because I ate about 2 pints of lime sherbet EVERY DAY nearly my whole preggerness. Good luck, girl. Not too long, now.

Oh Jeannie, I'm sorry you're so blue and uncomfortable. You can always lean on us for support. It's one of the things Passporters do best! Skylar will be in your arms before you know it, and then you'll wonder where those last 9 months went! Try to relax and take it easy for a while, things will be better before you know it.

Re: I\'ve got the baby blues...
Hi Jeannie- I think I read all of the posts in the passporter forum for the first two weeks of last March, most of my reading done in the middle of the night or the wee hours of the am. My baby finally came, a week late, on March 12th. I know how you feel. The hardest is not being able to sleep at night due to discomfort then being so tired and impatient during the day. Get a good book, let Shane watch lots of tv and videos (it's only for a few weeks after all) and take care of yourself!
