As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Good Morning & Happy Valentine's Day!!
Still hanging in there, just finished my 2 miles and my first bottle of water. Has anyone ever calculated how many steps they take in their workout? I averaged about 108 steps per 1/10 mile, so I must have taken about 2160 steps all together in my 2 miles. That will be well over 10,000 steps per week.
So what's everybody doing tonight for Valentine's Day? DH and I arn't doing anything special. I got some perch out of the freezer and I'll be deep-frying that tonight for him. He really loves it but it's a big no-no for me. I'll still probably have 1 piece though. It's sooooo good!!
DH loves to go fishing, so this is good'ole Lake Erie Perch which is delicious!! We've got about 8 bags left in the freezer. I try to spread them out over the year to make them last till next fishing season. I told DH not to waste any money on flowers for me this year cause we're trying to save as much as possible. He has always brought home flowers for me in the past, so I'll see if he listened to me or not. He's big on flowers. I must have a ton of those little cards. I keep them all! He's been known to just surprise me with flowers for no occasion at all. He's a sweetie!!
Welcome Back Michele!! Wow, you lost weight while on vacation!! Good for you! Don't feel bad about gaining a couple pounds of it back. It could have been a lot worse!!
Hey Michelle and Marie! Bet you burned lots of calories cleaning your houses! Now if only I had that ambition!!
WooHoo Beaner!! Congrats on the weight loss!! Way to go!! You'll be rid of that last preggo pound in no time at all!!
OK, I'm stepping on it!! The Pixie Chick Wagon will be around to pick all you guys up in no time!
Thanks for pitching in on the gas, but if I get a speeding ticket are you gonna pitch in for that too!? LOL
Have a very Happy Valentine's Day everybody!!
Hug all your loved ones real tight today!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-2/14/03
Wow, everyone is doing great .
I haven't had a decent meal since DH went into the hospital on Tuesday. I have dropped two pounds, but it is not a diet plan I would recommend . For the last four days it's been work, hospital, home to sleep.
Keep up the good work everyone, and
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Re: Pixie Chicks-2/14/03
Cindy, don't you worry about that speeding ticket - DH is in law enforcement and he'll keep the fuzz off our tail if you'll just keep driving!!
I DID NOT get on my scale today, I am still mad at him, he's been so mean to me this week! But I did get up at 5:30 and walked for 45 minutes again.
GoofyMom, I made the veggie soup that you posted a little while back for supper last night. But I added one potato and 1/2 cup corn to it. I thought it was very good and I calculated it to have 1 point per cup with the potato and corn. Of course my kids thought I was starving them not having meat for supper! I told them to feel free to go in the kitchen and fix whatever they wanted!
I made some Mexican cornbread to go with it, but I used one egg instead of 2, 1/4 cup oil instead of 1/3 cup, and used 1/2 cup of cheese instead of 1 cup. Does anyone have any more ideas how to reduce the fat in it? What can you substitute for the oil? I know it needs a little fat or it won't cook right. I thought about trying 2 egg whites instead of whole eggs, but I don't know what that would do.
DH has been out of town this week and comes back today, so I took some steaks out of the freezer to have for Valentine's supper. I have my trusty scale and I'm gonna weigh my steak so I'll know what I'm eating and not go over my points. I'm thinking about going back to a WW meeting, I have a few questions that need answered.
Congratulations Beaner!! That is great!!
Have a skinny day gals!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-2/14/03
Happy Valentine's Day! I sucked it up and stepped on the scale again this morning and to my surprise, it's down another pound. I was digging through some things on my dresser (that's a scary story for a different time! ) and I found DH's and my wedding rings. Neither one of us has been able to find them for a long time. I gave his to him last night with a "Look what I found" and he was so happy. He told me that was the best Valentine's gift he'd ever got! What a Guess my shopping's done! Anyway, back to the story...his ring still fits 17.5 years later. Mine is now a pinkie ring. Thank goodness I have no desire to get back down to my wedding weight, or I'll be counting points till the day I die! LOL! I mean it's taken me 6 weeks to drop 2 pounds and I keep gaining one of them back. Ah, well. I'm on the Pixie Wagon and I hope you don't mind Canadian money cuz that's all I've got to pitch in for gas.
Have a great day!
