Forums Closed

As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Pixie Chicks-Tues.8/20
Good Morning!
You'll all be pleased to know that while you were all sleeping, I (good little pixie) put seatbelts on the Pixie Chick Wagon, so we won't fall off anymore! Big CONGRATULATIONS go out to Sandy who not only dropped 3 more pounds, but also got her job!!! YOU GO GIRL!!
Well, my boss called me last night and asked if I could go in early today, so it will be a LONG 8 hour day instead of the LONG 5 hour day I usually work.
Not to mention my SECOND part-time job nights! Oh well, they're paying for our trip to WDW, so I guess I can't complain...TOO MUCH!!!
Better get going...and don't forget...drink lots of water today and.....FASTEN THOSE SEATBELTS!!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-Tues.8/20
Good Morning Everyone! Hey Cindy, thanks for the seatbelts! Very cool, indeed. I was going to begin swimming again this past weekend, but it's been nothing but rain here in the late afternoons and evenings. Keeping my fingers crossed that today will be a better day. Still holding steady with the weight after my one pound loss over the weekend. And with DH back from California, we're back into our healthy dinner mode.
Have a good day all! glug...glug...glug

Re: Pixie Chicks-Tues.8/20
Thanks for the extra sprinkles of Skinny Pixie Dust everybody! I think the scale moved down a little, but it's so hard to tell because I can step on it 4 times and get a different reading each time
Whatever, I know I was pretty good yesterday, but I forgot to write everything down so I only know I was close. DS and I walked to our mall yesterday, spent a little too much time shopping and had to speedwalk home because he had golf lessons. We were originally planning to ride bikes to his lesson, but I had to drive like a crazy teenager to get him there 5 minutes late
I managed to down about 5 glasses of water (approx. 10 cups) It's hard for me to drink water when it's not hot out.
Today DD and I are walking to the bus stop to go to the mall again - one last fling before school. We don't really have anything to buy except those elusive shoes for my outfit for my brother's wedding. Wish me luck - I think I'm the only woman on the planet who hates shoe shopping! <click, click> Fastening seatbelt, keeping hands and arms safely inside the Pixie Chick Wagon! Haven't eaten a thing today-YET-so I have a clean slate once again, Krispie Kreme Konfessions behind me. Enjoy your healthy dinner mode, Cindy! Donna: Its NOT HOT in Winnipeg?!! I'm sooo jealous! Its over 90-100 degrees here, with about 80-90% humidity. . .helllp, we're melting, melting! You aren't alone. . .I hate shoe shopping, too! Especially dress shoes. Have a great day, Pixies, and here's to a better day of weight loss fun! Re: Pixie Chicks-Tues.8/20
Cindy -- seatbelts! Brilliant.
I'm going to need one of those myself today, I think -- I started off with Pringles for breakfast. I guess it helps that they're the reduced-fat kind, right? And I'm not going to let that ruin my points for the day.
I'm off to have something more resembling breakfast food now. Fruit, anyone? Have to re-fill my water bottle too. Happy day, everyone.

Re: Pixie Chicks-Tues.8/20
Wow, love the seatbelts! Maybe they can keep me from falling off this wagon for a few days, at least!
This morning was good news and bad news -- good news is my 2 lbs I've been gaining and losing and gaining again has once again gone missing. Don't know how or why but I'll take it!
Bad news is I couldn't walk on my treadmill yesterday or today. I stepped on something somewhere in my house (haven't found it yet!) and sliced open the bottem of my big toe. Guess it just underlines the fact that I need more than one piece of exercise equipment ... problem is where to PUT more equipment!
It's going to be a challenge not to gain weight while this darn toe heals. I've been walking between 12 and 18 miles a week for the past month. Think I might have to duct tape my mouth shut.

Re: Pixie Chicks-Tues.8/20
I forgot to buckle my seatbelt as well . I went to visit my friends at my old office, and someone had cheesecake. I had half a piece . Darn it, it was good too. It will definitely be a fish and green bean night tonight for dinner!
Buckle your seatbelts everyone!!!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-Tues.8/20
Well, now that you've installed the seatbelts, I guess I should find my way back to the Pixie Chick Wagon.. I'd been lost for about a month. I don't think I've gained any weight, but I don't think I've really lost anymore, either.
We'll see what happens.

Re: Pixie Chicks-Tues.8/20
I forgot to buckle my belt this morning....though I always remember to buckle up in the car. Anyway....Krispie Kremes were delivered to our office by one of our vendors.....and I had TWO...after I had already eaten my oatmeal and orange juice. Ugh. Luckily I have a Lean Cuisine for lunch and I've got my water bottle out (even though the Coke machine keeps calling me). Hope I can keep it at that until dinner.
Glad to see others are doing better than me. The scale doesn't show any real change over the past two weeks, but that is probably due to my excercising. I'm not sure what I'll do when my pools close. I do have my stationary bike....but I've gotten SO used to excercising without sweating .
Good luck to everyone in your quest for willpower today! -HiddenMickey
