Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Oh.... the "Spirit" of Christmas can get to the best of us!!!!!!

It's been a very interesting week here at the Wright house! (which is a total DISASTER)

All was going well until the other evening when I thought it would be a good time to make some Rum Balls to add to our cookie trays. Gathered up all the ingredients & made of a batch of the Rum Ball batter. Sounds harmless right? Then the phone rings (balls are not rolled yet), had to locate the phone which meant leaving the kitchen, It's Shannon . As I am talking to her on the phone, I am walking back into the kitchen and what do I see????? MAGGIE standing upright with her paws on the counter and her head in the bowl.... grrrrrrrr. I YELL out at her, she lifts her head and then heads to the back door and sits down licking her chops. When I looked into the bowl, she had already eaten 3/4 of the batter which contained 2 Tbl of Cocoa & 1/2 Cup Rum. I remember yelling at her... "What the HEY is wrong with you???? You're only 1 1/2 yrs old and already hitting the bottle,,, I hope your belly burns!!!" (I know, I know, dumb to be talking to a dog this way but they are my fur kids ). At this point I wasn't sure what to do, should I make her get sick or see how she rides it out. I was doing mental calculations with weight verses alcohol intake.

Remembering how she reacted to making her get sick when I thought she had eaten yard mushrooms, I thought maybe I would ride this one out. She seemed to be ok and does have a gut of steel. I have never in my life ever seen an animal (other than a human) intoxicated. Well let me tell you, Princess Magdalena was a "happy pup" for the evening. She had the biggest grin on her face all evening, a little unsteady at times on her feet & kept wondering out into the kitchen looking for more... ugh! When it came time for bed, she headed on upstairs and tried to get up on the foot of the bed, slipped and then decided the floor was the best place to sleep for the night (where she usually stays).

Needless to say, MOM did NOT sleep that night! As for the Princess, she had herself a grand time and did she learn from her ordeal... NOPE! She is still counter surfing looking for that extra special treat.

It's not over yet........

Yesterday afternoon when I came home from work, I was able to get a few things done around the house before having to have to head over to our nieces home. (Wed I make sure she gets off the bus ok). Anyway, I had to put Maggie & Bianca outside in their pen before leaving because Maggie is always on a Seek & Destroy mission if left inside) while Harry and Sandy are allowed to stay inside the house. Poor Bianca has to keep Maggie company because Sandy & Harry refuse (they don't like staying outside).

When I returned home later that evening, DH was already home and greated me at the door. He said there was some minor complications and started laughing. Apparently, Harry decided it was time to take down the Christmas tree. When I asked how he knew it was Harry and not Sandy, he said think about it Deb, Sandy has lived her for 8 years and never did a thing like this.... well I do have to agree with him on this one.

The poor tree needs a total face lift. Harry was proud of his tree stripping deed. He was after the cinnamon ornaments that were at the top of the tree. There use to be angels all over the tree but the Fur crew decided they were better munched than hanging on the tree. They didn't eat them they just would remove them from the tree and crunch them up leaving a mess.

Guess this weekend I will be redecorating the tree for the... hummmmmm I lost count. This fur crew of mine is going to drive me NUTS!!!! But I wouldn't trade a hair on them for anything.

They have also been helping me redecorate the house. If you put an item down, one of them comes along and moves it on you. Harry the other day was walking around with Christmas stockings hanging from his mouth... have to admit, he was cute all 110 lbs of him. Maggie just loves to hide things, while Sandy & Bianca tend to watch the other two do their thing. This year has been quite different as far as the Holiday Preparations go, never a dull moment with this fur crew These were just the major things that happened over the past couple of days... the minor things are too many to list... I am beat!

Everyday is an adventure at the Wright house!

Debbie, I mentioned your rum ball story to a friend of mine last night. That is so hilarious!! Maggie sounds almost as innocent as she looks.

Kruggie, I am glad it put a smile on your face. I have to admit, no matter how mad I get at them, they make me laugh. They are so comical. This week I have started to cry many times (just mainly from fustration because it seems like I take one step forward and three backward) there is always one, two, three, or four of them right in front of me to perk me up. These Spins have BIG red noses (sandy has a little red nose) and they will always do something to make me laugh.

Right now they are sleeping... ahhhhhh peace and quiet

Re: Oh.... the "Spirit" of Christmas can get to the best of us!!!!!!

My eldest son keeps asking for a dog, and I would love to give him one but our house is so small, so I keep telling him, when his brother quits peeing on the floor, we will consider it.....I can only potty train one animal at a time!

If there ends up being a furry critter under my tree, I am blaming you debe!

Glad you can see the funny side of it all. Must have been a little funny. I've seen cows drunk on eating fermented apples and it's worth a little giggle. Hope you get everything done that you need to for Christmas.

Oh, dogs! Can't help but love 'em! -- even when they're a huge pain in the you-know-where! I'm glad Maggie was able to sleep it off with no major side effects (I was afraid there was going to be a hang-over story when you said "It's not over yet")

Oh Debe, I feel your pain.

Yesterday, DH came to pick me up and I asked, "Where's Chyna?". (He usually brings her to pick up Mommy after work). He said, "We are not speaking right now!" Knew something happened. Leave him alone and when we get home, he said, she tore into something in the living room and there was paper everywhere. Seemed she wanted to destroy everything on the coffee table. We just got new cell phones and it came with an English and French instruction book. You would think, maybe she would eat the French? Oh no, lets go for the yummy english. One book gone. I guess its just all part of having our furry creatures. She knew she did wrong too. She was quiet all night and coming by for occasional kisses.

You gotta love the family pets!!! My "kids" have to spend hours sniffing each and every present that goes under the tree! In doing that, they always manage to drop several ornamnets from the tree. The other day, I found one of my cats carrying around a snowman in his mouth. He had "hunted" for it!!

<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">Blame ME???? Ahhhhhh! Think of all the FUN you would have Our home isn't all that big but my heart sure is when it comes to animals. I have been wanting to get new wall to wall carpeting but DH said "Why? You already have wall to wall dogs!" Come on mom... bend a little

Heidi, maybe Chyna didn't like the way the book was worded... LOL Maggie has a thing for paper too. Actually I don't know of much she doesn't have a thing for!! At least Chyna new she did something wrong, Maggie just looks at you with a big grin (doesn't need the rum balls for this) as if to say... That was fun wonder what I can do next!

Kathy, maybe you should get your kitty a mouse (not Mickey) for Christmas My mom's cats like to carry around those little tiny round Christmas tree balls (for the mini trees).
