As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). Since there are not that many to choose from to begin with, I'd have to say ours is Crystal Palace. We ate in the castle and it was okay but the cost makes it a once or once in a few trips choice. Our last time at Tony's I think all the food was made and heated before they even opened because we literally had our meals in front of us in under 10 minutes. It wasn't that good either IMO. Skippers Canteen we haven't been to and have no plans to go - the food is not appealing to us. Liberty Tree Tavern failed to wow us the one time we did eat there for dinner. There were three of us but everything we got was servings for two and the server was barely around for us to even mention it to her. The only way I was able to get the check in a timely manner was to send Lenny and Abby outside while I sat there, by myself, at a table full of dirty dishes. That got several peoples attention.
Our favorite MK restaurants are due to theming and even though some might disagree the food as well. They are LTT lunch, BOG dinner, and Tony’s dinner. We also enjoy Crystal Palace breakfast.
Essentially, I feel the same as Darlene. To date, we haven’t eaten BOG for dinner, so I can’t comment on that one. We liked LTT and CRT, but we’ve found more to enjoy at Crystal Palace. We’ve never tried Tony’s, because all, and I mean ALL, we hear is that it isn’t worth trying.
LTT is definitely our favorite. We were unimpressed the few times we tried Crystal Palace. (Although, full disclosure, the Thanksgiving type of food at LTT is one of my favorite meals!)

We plowed ahead anyway and enjoyed a really nice lunch there with a friend. Chicken parmesan, spaghetti with large, good meatballs, veggie pasta, panini. Service was efficient but we never felt rushed, and the food was perfectly fine if not gourmet. Their menu has recently been updated so we may try it again to see what's new. I think if you have realistic expectations and aren't comparing it to "real" Italian (I grew up in NJ so I know real Italian), you'll enjoy it more.
Liberty Tree Tavern could be a fun choice, especially if you have big eaters or kids who only want mac and cheese and maybe some potatoes. They serve dinner family style with several meats and side dishes plus dessert, and they will bring you more if you run out of green beans.

Usually on our Magic Kingdom day we usually eat at a nearby resort. WE have been to Tony's but the only thing good about it is the location, the meal is just average. The only other restaurant we have eaten at in MK is CRT which I think has been good everytime we have went. Hope this helps. Happy Planning!

I wouldn't have traded my CRT dinner for anything, really. Even though I can't live without the Crystal Palace's buffet. CRT has mixed reviews and it really is personal opinion like anything else. For those used to large portions, this dinner is not right for them. The food is high quality, imo, so you don't really need an overwhelming amount; and it is well worth the credits. The experience was also a delight. The only way to really know is to try it ones self. The area is cramped for space, it's hustle and bustle and noisy. But I think it is something everyone should try at least once! It's Disney after all.

CRT!! Yes, I know it is expensive, but to eat with the Royals in a Castle in the Magic Kingdom is the epitome of WDW magic for me!!
