As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

We have always done LeCellier and loved it but someone suggested Yachtsman Steakhouse is better It's been 2 years since our last trip. Which one should I reserve?

We ate at Yachtsman in April and LOVED it. IMO, LeCellier is not worth the Signature pricing, and the last time we were there, we had less than Signature-level service. On the other hand, our server at Yachtsman was awesome (I just wish I could remember his name). I had the filet and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender - one of the best restaurant steaks I've had!
Definitely Yachtsman! Wonderful service, fabulous steaks cooked perfectly and an elegant atmosphere.
I heartily agree that Le C is soooo not Signature quality. It was okay as a 1 cred steak place but really doesn't equal other Sigs. Our local Outback is actually better!
We like to dress up a bit for Yachtsman. It's a nice restaurant tnat deserves a bit more than the standard resort casual specified for Sig attire, we think. Plus, the servers seem to appreciate that we went to the trouble of dressing "Sunday best."
If they still have the mixed greens salad made with greens grown at The Land in Epcot, GET THAT. It is hands down the best salad I've ever eaten with a stunning vinaigrette. Truly amazing.

Yachtsman would be my pick. Our experience was not as rushed there when compared to Le Cellier. Our meal and service were excellent. We did enjoy our meal at LeCellier, too. It was not as relaxing, though.

We're DDP folks, and we are trying Yachtsman for the first time this year. We have been to LeCellier in the past, and while the food was very good, we thought it wasn't "Two Credits Good"...that is, worth the signature price. Our experience at LeCellier was similar to others here - food was average (not spectacular), restaurant was cramped and it's not conducive to relaxing. You're dang near sitting on top of your neighbor - hope you don't have to visit the restrooms during your dinner - and you're expected to eat and GTFO for the next party.
It was the one restaurant in all of our trips to WDW where the servers were more grumpy than anywhere else. Maybe we just had an off night. / shrug
I'm sure you will enjoy either place, but I've heard such good things about Yachtsman, it's already booked for our Oct trip. Either way, I hope you have a wonderful time!

I had the BEST steak ever and the asparagus was HUGE with blue crab & lemon curd- which NEVER thought was a good combination- AMAZING! Planning to take my sons for their 1st time, but not until 2019!
Never been to Le Cellier and from looking at the menu nothing pops at me!

I used to love Le Cellier and insisted we go each trip. Last time at Le Cellier I got there pretty early and was waiting on my 2 guests. The hostess was very nice, didn't know if I had a reservation but invited me in and was very accommodating...until my guests showed up and then she was somewhat nasty and rude. Was bitchy when I asked for a kids menu for my child, and my server was also the same way and wouldn't allow us to share a meal despite paying OOP. At Yatchsman it was just the opposite, the server was outstanding and even suggested getting the huge Porterhouse for all three of us to share. The ambience was great, the meal was great and the server superb, we couldn't have asked for anything better.
We've always had great dining experiences t WDW except for this trip to Le Cellier and a meal at Flying Fish which was easily our worst ever at WDW.
