Me and Jenni had a great time! A Brent and Liz trip report! - UPDATED 12/27 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Me and Jenni had a great time! A Brent and Liz trip report! - UPDATED 12/27
Hello Everyone. Brent and Liz are back with another trip report full of magical moments, Christmas Cheer and meetings with Cinderella. Some of you may remember us from our past adventures. For those of you who are new to us, a quick introduction is in order. I am Brent, 49 years old and Cinderella's biggest fan. Liz is my beautiful wife and admirer of Snow White, Tinker Bell, and Reindeer. We met through Disney almost 10 years ago.
Without further adieu, here we go! Our trip was from Friday Nov 4th through Sunday Nov 13th. We stayed at Pop Century resort right by the flower pool. We attended a Christmas party, met some Princesses and Liz even got serenaded a few times. It was a wonderful trip and we hope you enjoy our story.
Friday November 4th:
It actually began Thursday night the 3rd. We had an early flight out of Detroit so we stayed at the Clarion hotel by the airport with a Park n Fly package. Nice room and the cost worked out to about the same as parking at the airport for our trip. The Clarion also lets you park your car anywhere on their property, and they have their own, dedicated shuttle. No stopping at other hotels. Definitely a plus! Sooo after a good night's sleep we were up and raring to go and on the shuttle at 4 am! Got to the airport, checked our luggage (thanks Southwest! one bag for the clothes and one bag for the beer.) The flight was on time and we arrived in Nashville roughly an hour later to catch our connecting flight to Orlando.
Again, right on time. We did, however,. change out of our pants and into some shorts in Nashville though, Another plane ride and before you know it we're on the magical express to Pop!
Somehow we took a wrong turn at the airport and wound up on the opposite side from Magical express. I'm sure it was my fault.
Once we arrived at Pop we had some lunch hoping our room would be ready when we were done eating. Just like clockwork we got the text as we were cleaning up our table. We were assigned the perfect room ground floor on the corner right by the pool. Liz set to work right away decorating the window and I put my speedo on to go for a swim. Then I went for a walk around the resort and found they were doing some major rehab work on my beloved computer pool.
Then I saw this terrible sign. I hate snakes and we've had quite an eventful Summer with the things.
Then the luggage arrived so we unpacked and were off to the Magic Kingdom! A quick stop at the ticket window to validate my AP and we were in the park just in time to cash in on a fastpass to see Cinderella. She was happy to see me as always and was glad to have me back in the kingdom.
Got to meet Elena for the first time too! She told me about her friend Skylar, a cross between a Macaw and a Jaguar.Interesting.
Then we used a fastpass for Liz’s favorite ride. Haunted Mansion. By now it was time for dinner at Be Our Guest.
We were talking about something during dinner to our waitress that brought up my ex-wive(s) name ‘Jennifer’ and how Liz gets along so well with them, and how it’s actually ok if I slip up and call Liz, Jennifer , once in awhile. So, we had a great dinner and our waitress brings the check, winks at us and says “You and Jenni feel free to look around a bit and see the west wing before you leave”. Priceless moment from a fun server. Then we saw the beast.
Then headed to The 7 dwarfs mine train and hit it just as the fireworks were going off. It was a great first day, and the rain even held off until we got on the bus back to Pop.
Saturday November 5. .
I woke early and went on a walk around the resort with my morning coffee. I love this time, It’s peaceful, the resort is beautiful, and I’m on vacation, Life is good. We made it to the opening show then once the park opened, Liz made a beeline to Starbuck’s and I made a beeline for Cinderella. I was maybe third in line, what a wonderful way to start the day.
After I saw the white-gloved one, I found Liz. She had a muffin and a nice drink from Starbuck’s for me. How lucky am I to have a wife who will not only put up with my Cinderella eccentricities but get Starbuck’s for me while I go see her? Then a friend of ours texts me asking if I could get a few pictures of one of the vehicles in Test Track he saw a few months ago and he ends it with, “You and Jenni have fun today”. Sighhhhh Here she is flashing the 'J'.
Then we went on Splash Mountain where Liz got soaked. Then we saw the new Castle show where Liz got hit it in the eye with a kid. (I’m not kidding) Then we saw Goofy and he just wouldn’t stop hugging Liz.
Then Donald tried to convince me that snakes weren’t scary. It didn’t work.
Then it was Space Mountain where Liz grew some reindeer ears.
We got Caramel apples on the way out to go back to the resort, Quick swim at the resort then on to the studios for the Star Wars dessert party! I’m not much for dessert parties but this was awesome! The food was good, the drinks and the Star Wars twist on them were fantastic. Then we were led to a perfect spot to watch the show. Liz has some good pictures of the food I’m hoping she will share later.
Then we headed back to the Magic Kingdom to use some Cinderella fastpasses and meet some friends. A bit of a scary moment here. The fireworks crowd was intense and we were on the bridge into tomorrowland because we wanted to get back to use our fastpassees, not to watch Wishes. Cast members were trying to keep a lane of traffic for people to walk but that had broken down and it was gridlock. A gentlemen with a stroller was pressing it up against people with the attitude. (and we even heard him say this) "if you push them they'll move!" Well, the crowd would move a few feet then stop and each time it would stop someone got the stroller up against thier legs. Unfortunately it was apparently my turn for this as I was alongside the stroller when he banged it right into the side of my hip. At this time the foot traffic facing us started moving and I took a bump to my shoulder. Having nowhere to go I started to fall over said battering ram. errr stroller. I had to grab the stroller to keep from falling on it, which I did successfully. However this drew the ire of stroller guy and he proceeded to yell at me "Hey that's my kid in there!" Before I could react, Liz erupted. Said something about him being rude enough to hit people with it what does he expect, although her exact words contained a few more adjectives if I remember correctly. Then seeing traffic was again starting to move she flicked the stroller brake on with her foot and we walked away while stroller guy was stuck there wondering what happened and unpacking his colorful adjectives. Oh my evil, wicked wife!
We finally made it to our Cinderella fastpass in time and had a wonderful time with her. We just chatted so much Liz got tired and went to see Aurora. Then even Aurora remarked on how cute it was seeing me with Cinderella. Liz told me later Aurora was saying things like. " Oh, look at him with her. Isn't that the most special thing you've ever seen.
Next we met up with some friends who happened to be vacationing at the same time. We met them, then went on the Little Mermaid ride, then walked around to go on Pirates, then wound up in front of the castle at Midnight.
The girls were taking pictures of the castle when Liz and her friend looked at me and said. "It's almost midnight, why don't you go see Cinderella!" Well you don't have to ask me twice, so off I went. (Liz said you could see smoke I left so fast.) The timing worked out just right as I was in the room to meet her right at 11:59. Perfect! Liz took this picture of the castle at midnight, while I was in the Hall meeting Cinderella. I just think that's pretty cool. Cinderella seemed to think it was too as she was especially friendly, and we shared a warm hug at midnight. Just a neat moment.
After that we wandered around the castle a bit more then headed to the busses. A busy day, but a good one! And the time change was that night so we even got a little more sleep.
What an awesome start to this WDW trip! You have the best interaction with Cinderella every single time. Kudos to Liz for taking care of rude stroller man!

Oh wow, what a wonderful start to your vacation so far! I'm so glad you mentioned Elena's name, as I wasn't sure who she was, but what a beautiful dress she's got. Love the colours!
Nice start to your TR and first day as you got a lot in and especially a number of meets with Cinderella! Nice going for Liz and her interaction with the rude and oblivious stroller man!

Ummmm, that pic is 11:50. Hhahah....dork! I have one just like it of midnight tho.
Yeah, I am not proud of losing my cool with stroller guy but I had heard him actually telling his wife to hit people with it so they would move a few times so I was not very tolerant. You just don't need to be like that at Disney, or anywhere! Luckily my many years of babies at home made me wise to that one little click between the back wheels that can be easily accessed by a non suspecting big toe. Ooooops, my bad. I was doing him a favor, gave him time to cool off.

There was no need to get up too early this morning as we were going to Epcot with a 9:00 opening so I walked around the resort with my mug full of coffee. Just love it. The weather was great. Mid 60's. We were on the way to Epcot when we realized the RunDisney event was taking place there this morning. It was quite the spectacle. The road was filled with runners as far as the eye could see. The energy in the air from the event was awesome. Liz and I want to do it someday. Need to go into training this Winter! Once we were in, Liz found her Starbucks and I found Mission Space. Then we headed to breakfast at Akershus. All the princesses were great, but naturally especially my beloved Cinderella. Her smile lit up the room when she arrived at our table and just seemed so genuinely happy to see us there. It was almost like meeting an old friend.
The other princesses came around as well. Liz got a wonderful selfie with Snow. It was a great breakfast and we had a great day going.
Next since it was right there we visited Anna and Elsa in thier new place, the Sommerhaus, but first I noticed the name of the shop. " The Wandering Reindeer'. Liz loves Reindeer so when I pointed it out to her she just stood there in awe. Quite the cool moment. Then we queued up to see the princesses and Liz overheard a rather distraught Mother in the bathroom beforehand admonishing her kids. She said it went something like this: "Ok, guys, now when we get in there to see Anna and Elsa, remember,.. no matter what your father says, Sven is a Reindeer. Not a jack... ummm well a donkey" Too funny for words. Then we saw the Arendale Princess and Queen without reindeer incident!
After that it was time to do some Food and wine exploring. I spotted the craft beer building right away and of course couldn't pass it up. I decided to get a flight and then got an idea. Probably my corniest picture of the trip, but remember we attended a Star Wars dessert party last night so here's me being the chosen one! I have brought balance to the flight.......
Ok I warned you it was corny. Next was a fastpass for the frozen ride. It was very well done, but I still miss Maelstrom. then back to the resort for a quick nap. After we awoke we headed to the Magic Kingdom. Luckily I was able to secure a Cinderella fastpass. We also had another dinner at Be our Guest. Liz loves that place. We arrived to a very busy Magic Kingdom and saw Cinderella. She was as wonderful as ever and we all showed off our shoes for some reason. ?
Aurora loved my book so much she kissed one of the pages with her picture on it. I was touched.
Then on to Be Our Guest. We had a good dinner, then met the master, who danced with Liz.
Liz swears the Knights were talking to her on the way out. By now it was getting late but we still decided to see Tink. She recognized Liz right away and was her usual spunky self. She looked at all the princesses on my shirt and said 'I'm no princess but I better be on there!" Then to her delight (and my relief!) she was! Always better to have a happy Tink than a mad Tink.
After that we headed home. Another full day!
