As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I am happy that I have instilled a love of WDW in my kids. Dear Husband and I will be celebrating our 35th anniversary in Dec. we wanted to stay at a monorail resort for the first time and so we will be at the Polynesian. 3 adult daughters wanted to come with us and of course we said yes. Our past vacations have been huge extended family galas with kids. This will be an adults only trip so it should be fun. But now I'm thinking - just because the room fits 5, is that a good idea???
Four women and only ONE bathroom will answer that question unless you're all low maintenance.
While you can get that many adults in a room for five, if you possibly can, I would book two double-queen rooms instead. Everyone will do better with more space, more privacy and TWO bathrooms, I'd think.
Besides, closet and drawer space will be skimpy for that many adults as will floor space for luggage if you prefer not to unpack. You'll be tripping over stuff and people both in a room for five.
Add to that the fact that one person would have a pullout bed. While Disney pullouts are said to be quite big enough for adults to sleep comfortably, that's one more thing taking up floor space.
Congrats on your anniversary! Hope you can retain your dream stay at the Poly as well as have adequate comfort for everyone.

I don't think I would try to put 5 adults in one room. Lack of storage, lack of privacy, only one bathroom. I think it would be rather close quarters and I don't think it would make for an enjoyable vacation. How long will your trip be? That could also be a factor. A night or 2 may be doable, if not ideal. A week or longer and I wouldn't even consider it.
As a family of 5 we always did two rooms. I have since gone back with my son, his wife and child and my Daughter. We stayed in a one bedroom which worked out well. We were at OKW and the rooms are very large and the bathroom divided.
Next time DS will have two children so I am thinking we will need a two bedroom.
I also think if you are celebrating your anniversary, you and your DH should have a bedroom of your own don't you think?
I've stayed with five, not adults, but with 2 teenage girls, and one preteen girl, in the Polynesian rooms with the daybed.
We were fine, and not at all cramped. The monorail resorts have the largest rooms on property, and we had plenty of room for the five of us, and our luggage (and Sarah's stuffies!)
The daybed was comfortable for my teen daughter - admittedly, she isn't tall, but at 5 ft. 3 in, she fit easily on the bed, and it is an actual mattress.
We are all fairly low maintenance except for my youngest, so one bathroom wasn't an issue. There are two sinks in the bathroom for tooth brushing time.
I think you need to decide for yourself how your family dynamics will work.
Were your girls able to share amicably when they lived at home? If so, you should be fine.
We used to book one room at the Contemporary when the kids were younger and it was fine (although 2 bathrooms are always a good thing! ) You can definitely do it, but you may want to book a 2nd room if you can. You'll all be more comfortable. Have a great time!
We've stayed at the Poly with 5 adults. Me, DH, 2 DS (twins age 17 at the time) and my brother. My brother is around 6'3" and he was comfortable on the daybed. We had no issues sharing the bathroom, but I was the only girl and I am pretty low maintenance.

I have stayed at the Poly many times and the last 2x it was 4 adults with 2 being definitely Pooh sized, a wheelchair, oxygen condenser, & 2 sleep apnea machines. We were a little cramped for floor space but not bad enough not to do it again. I was the lucky none to sleep on the day bed both times bc Gram did better with the bed to herself and I admit I was apprehensive at first but it was very comfy! I am 5'11" and well over 275 lbs. I fit with no problems and I would be the first to complain. We always put the bed back to seating area during day (2 minutes is all it took). We didn't even have bathroom sharing issues (but we share at home too) - our only issue - plugs! Definitely bring a power strip or 2 for that many phones, cameras, etc. We had a standard room too - not handicapped & it was 1st floor.
There is a per night charge/person over 2 adults. But we always feel Poly is worth it.
We've stayed at Poly in a group of 5 - 3 adults, 2 teens. The room was ok - and we decided to pay a bit more to stay at club level and that was great! We usually get ready first and went to the lounge, where we waited everyone.
Probably if we need to stay in the same space waiting we would feel a bit crowded. With the lounge just steps from the room it was easy
Disney does charge extra for each additional adult in a room in excess of two adults. For a deluxe, it's 20 or 25 per night, per extra adult.
With my family, we need the extra bathroom. There's the shower and getting ready aspect, and there's also the fact that the men all have sensitive stomachs. Last year, I initially had a room with one bathroom for me, my adult sister, and my mom. When Dad decided to come along, we switched to an AOA suite with two bathrooms, and that was perfect.
I will say that having a balcony at the Poly room will help a lot. That way, someone can sit outside if he or she feels like it's getting too crowded inside.
Depending on height, the sofa bed might be a short fit at the Poly. I was able to lay comfortably on it (I'm 5'1) but my husband (5'9) found that his feet reached the end and his head touched the other end.
Disney also charges extra for adults above 2 in a room - please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's $25 extra per night. It might be more cost effective to get two connecting rooms and then you'd have two full bathroom options.
Having only one bathroom option made it tough for my family of 5 to get out the door each morning, and my boys are little.
