As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). All the teams started from their homes. They had to fly to Mexico and find Phil at Monumento a la Revolución (Monument to the Revolution).
Mariachi Madness: Teams must search through hundreds of Mariachi players to find one that isn’t playing to get the clue.
Great Bulls of Fire: Teams must build a frame around a Paper Mache bull. Once done they have to light fireworks to get the clue.
It seem kick of half and half. I’m just learning the teams so I couldn’t keep on who did what. The Mariachi seemed faster but I probably would have gone with the bull one.
The teams have to make their way to a park with a cave. Once there they get a start time for in the morning.
Who’s ready to pick up the pieces? One team member must go into an archaeological cave and dig for 13 pieces of a mask. Then they fallow the drums and put the mask together to get the next clue.
It looked kind of hard but fun. I felt bad for Scott when he lost his pieces. I think almost all the teams had to re dig for their pieces.
The teams now have to head to Musseo Soumaya one of many Museums in Mexico City.
It was a foot race for first with Dana & Matt get first. Scott & Blair come in last but we have our first Non elimination.
Next week we have a Speed Bump. Can Scott & Blair catch up? So this Season the teams will do whatever it takes to win. I also heard the best line in Amazing Race history “I hope this doesn’t cocka doodle doo all over me”

Happy with my team - Zack & Rachel. Not only did they finish third, they didn't annoy me! I was finding a lot of the teams too over the top. At one point I said I was hoping for about 5 teams to be eliminated this week! But no one was eliminated!
I also felt old - my daughter (who's almost 16) knew just about all of the teams from their Vines or YouTube channels. I knew the flight attendant who had the viral video of her safety spiel on YouTube.
FINALLY! We have been saying for years that we wished the first leg was non elimination! We think it gives everyone a chance to figure out how the race works. The only team I really wasn't fond of is my team...honestly, Sheri is near tears 24/7 it seems!
I thought the start from their homes was interesting. I wonder if the flights had been pre booked for them? It would seem like they would have to have been as they all seemed to arrive in Mexico City at the same time. Having started this way, it made sense that the first leg was non-elimination.
Still trying to decide which teams I like ( or not). Seemed like quite a few teams knew each other too. Interesting. Looks to be a good season.

The show was a good one. Not great, but good. I'm not real thrilled with my team. We'll see how they are as the show goes on, if they make it further.
I have a couple teams that I definitely don't like and a couple that I do, but it's all a blur, so not sure of their names. I'll get back to you on that.
I liked the tasks pretty well. And loved that it was non-elimination.
Found it interesting that many of these people seem to follow each other's internet activity.
My mother and I finally were able to watch this week's show. We were not thrilled at all with the teams. We too liked the tasks as well as the non-elimination 1st leg. Holding all judgement on this season and teams till I watch a bit more.

I was finding a lot of the teams too over the top. At one point I said I was hoping for about 5 teams to be eliminated this week! But no one was eliminated!
