Mod./Deluxe Shortest walk to buses?

Thinking of upgrading to a Mod or Deluxe for upcoming Aug. trip. We have stayed at AKL and Carribean Beach previously and were disappointed by the long walk to transportation. Not a huge deal in the AM but after evening EMH it fctors in. We usually stay in a preferred room at POP or All Stars, so something similiar to that distance is preferred. Also, which resorts have the least internal bus stops? This got very old quickly at Carribean Beach.

We've stayed at CBR, POR and CSR. We have found the bus stops for CSR to be the most convenient, when exiting the parks. Hope this helps!

Well, you may not care to spring for a Grand Floridian stay, but the bus stop for it is quite close to the entrance of the Main Building.

It's not very far at all from the Contemporary's entrance either, and the CR is an easy 10-15 minute walk to the MK on nice sidewalks.

I agree. I think CSR seems to have the closest park corrals of the Mods.

Just beware, they often change up which buses pick up where, so you can't be guaranteed that if resort once was in a first corral, will be in it in the future.

Also CSR. We stayed there three times. Twice we stayed in Casitas. It's the first pick up and drop off. What we did was catch the bus in El Centro (last stop and close to Casitas) and used the bus stop in our area only for drop off....that way we weren't circling the resort.

POFQ is small and the walk short from the bus depot to the buildings. You can ask for building 4 or 5 to really be handy. But none are very far.

THANK YOU! Is the French Quarter before or after Riverside drop-offs? Or does FQ have its own buses?

Aha. I wasn't sure what it was you really wanted. It sounded like the walk to the buses from the parks the way it was written. Glad I included both.

Every time we have been there, it was very rare for the bus for POFQ to even go to POR, but when it did POFQ was first.

We generally go in the fall or right after Thanksgiving.

I always request "close to transportation" when I make my room reservation. The only time I thought it felt like miles to my room were at POR and AoA in the Little Mermaid rooms.

I also make this request, but as many deluxe resorts have multiple forms of transportation you might want to specify "close to bus stops" if that's the form of transportation you most want to use. For example, the boat launches at the WL are far from the buses (as is the case at most resorts with boat transportation).

Since you asked specifically about mods and deluxes, most of the deluxe resorts have one bus stop area (no internal bus route). The exceptions would be the DVC resorts OKW and SSR. I believe all of the mods except for POFQ have internal loops.

CSR has close walks to the buses on both ends. Each village has a bus stop and their stops at the parks tend to be close to the entrances.

POFQ has only 1 bus depot. And the only time we've ever shared the bus with POR was at Thanksgiving week, and that was only for the ride to Epcot. That being said, POFQ always got on first.
