As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). To keep the magic going I like to take my ice tea to the pool in my WDW drink mug. Unfortunately ice tea stains the inside of the mug. I can't find it anywhere written on the mug, so I was wondering is it okay to throw the mug into the dishwasher? I don't want to ruin it. ºoº
Ive put our mugs in the dish washer before and only one hasn't faired too well. The picture has started coming off the others were fine but I have now stopped putting them in the dish washer.
Could you put in some water with a little bleach to take the stain away?

You can put it in the dishwasher, but it fades. What will for sure take out the tea stains is a little bit of baking soda & water. I just did it to my older mugs and it worked like a charm. I put a little in the bottom, added water to make a paste, and scrubbed, voila, like new.

This is what I would recommend. I do this all the time to my tea-stained mugs, both plastic and ceramic. The Disney mugs are not labeled as dishwasher safe, although many people have washed them and done fine. I have done it a few times, but be aware that in addition to having the picture fade, the glue that holds the two pieces of the mug together can loosen and let water inside, resulting in mold. That can ooze out through the crack at the lip--not something I would want to drink from!
I drink tea from my mugs all the time. Periodically I will put a little bit of bleach in the bottom, fill it the rest of the way with water and let it sit for 30 minutes or so....viola! Stains gone.
We have never put our in a dishwasher....mainly because I don't have a dishwasher....unless you count me and my hubby!

I'm very picky about my iced tea. I tried bleach, baking soda, and coffee pot cleaner in my cups and I thought I could taste a little aftertaste after doing it. Maybe it is all psychological, but since unsweetened tea is my all-day beverage I want it to taste like I want it.
I find that lemon juice and water cleans up the stains and leaves an aftertaste that I like. (I usually let it sit overnight.)

I too use the dishwasher all the time on my cups - and I've taken to using them at work now so that means a lot of dishwashing. I haven't found them to fade at all (the pool scene mugs that we've had since 2011) and as of yet, I don't have the water buildup inside like has happened with other mugs I've had. I think it's just the nature of the mugs with the white interior to just pick up stains. I grabbed one today that had an orange stain in the bottom from something we drank but I know it'll clean up nice.
I put my mugs in the dishwasher. Some of my older mugs have faded (specifically the old All Stars mugs that had a lot of black in the design) but it takes a LOT of runs in the dishwasher for that to happen. None of my other mugs have faded yet (from 2007 on).

We put ours in the dishwasher all the time. The newer designs hold up much better than the ones with the red backgraound or the ones that were mostly blue. The beach theme ones and the current design hold up great!
But, don't mess up as I did taking the lids apart to get both segments stain-free and forget to wedge them securely in the top rack. One lid was fine. The other had the snap on part and a twisty-melted piece of plastic.
