As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Well today marks 60 days (May 12 check in) out for me so at 6:30 am I was logged in and getting ready to do my FP selections. Well let me tell you it was less that stella. Here is why..for my very 1st day (Monday May 13) into MK I couldn't get anything I wanted. So how can that be? So I called and asked about why the Parade wasn't available (one example) and the CM tells me that they only allow a small number of FP's for the parade as it is a small viewing area. So I said ok I was trying to do this at 6:30 am on 60 days out and can't do it any sooner so should I have got up at 1 am to do this? Of course no answer. Guess I just needed to vent. Now when I got to Thursday May 15 my 1/2 day at Animal Kingdom I could not get It's Tough to Be a Bug until 12:45 pm...no AM available at all. And of course we will not be there at 12:45 pm because we will be on our way to Epcot.
Wow, it is crazy to me that you are going in mid-May (usually a not-so-busy time) and are having such trouble with FP selections. One more reason I am not at all a fan of FP+!

Ashli and CinderAbby that is what I thought that it is not the 'busy' time so I should get what I wanted but that didn't happen. It is very frustrating waiting till you are 60 days out and not getting what you want.

I understand the frustration but my point was with a 5 minute wait time even in a busy time, you shouldn't need a FP period.

I know I get that but if it isn't busy I should have been able to get it, right? And you have to select 3 when you do this and i didn't have anything else to select because my girlfriend won't do wet rides or Mt Everest and she didn't want Nemo so that was my third pick and I failed.
I just think that if they (Disney) are going to do this they need to come up with a better plan..either allow us to big up to 3 (hopefully they will move this to 4) or allow you to big your 3 from whatever park you are going to be in. That would be the best option for me as we always get the park hopper.
Sorry I do understand what you are saying but am still very, very frustrated..with this and not being able to get the FP for the new parade at MK.
OP, I'm sorry for your experience and I, too, really hope Disney gets their poop together and sorts all this out. I'm due to schedule FP this weekend and already not so looking forward to it (sadly I'm just reading so many poor experiences that I'm already soured, not to mention I hate the new system anyway.....).
I'm arriving May 14th. I think if I can't get what I want for FP's online, I may well skip them entirely and just go without it (not suggesting you do the same, just saying that's where my frustration level is!).
Well LegoMom I wish you lots of luck this weekend and maybe you will do much better than I did. I will say the rest of my days FP selections went great...got everything I want and the times. So again I wish you lots of luck and let us know how you make out. Last October all my FP selection went wonderfully so I wasn't expecting any problems...guess I was wrong.
I'm really surprised - we are going Easter week (which is crazy busy) and I was able to get pretty much what I wanted at 60 days out - keep trying. Move your choices around when you set their priority and then see what is available. Also select times for the 3 FP+'s and then go change one and see what comes up. You'll be surprised. I did that several times as I was working around an ADR time. It's kind of like playing roulette which is annoying but keep trying. Let us know what happens.
Yesterday, I did my 60 days out FP's for all 13 days of our trip with no real availability problems, expect no Crush FP's until 9:40 (which is no big deal since before then you really would not need one).
I do find the process a bit cumbersome on the web-site (I had to do a lot of editing, but I got wanted). I wish they allowed some park hopping and would eliminate the "tiers."
That must have been very frustrating. I'm hoping I have luck when it's time to make my selections for my June trip. I know it will take lot of time and patience.
Keep trying, don't give up. Good luck!

I read on another forum that the MK parades and Wishes FP+ aren't available until a few days before the actual date. I was just coming on here to see if anyone here knows that to be true. I just booked my FP+ and had pretty good luck but was wondering about those parades. I did find that after I booked something and then went back in to edit it, I had much better times to choose from. Hope it all works out for you in the end.
Hi Sherry
Thanks I hope you are right about the parade but that is not what th CM told me today...so I will have to wait and see. Keeping my toes and fingers crossed.
