As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Thought I would start a PTR to aid in my planning over the next 11 months
So my name is Claire, I am 26 and a trainee senior school teacher. This will be my third trip to Disney Florida I LOVE it! It is my happy place and I'm certain that no where on this earth could compare to the Disney bubble My favourite characters are most definitely the Disney Princesses!
My fiancé is Ja. He is 28 and it is also his third time to Disney. He likes Pluto. He too loves Disney but maybe not as much as I do.

As I said, this is a special trip as it is our first trip on site. Our first trip was very special, reason being is explained perfectly in the following photo....
YES. My DB proposed in Key Largo whilst we were swimming with dolphins. It was magical and something I will never forget. Maybe this is why DW is so special to me
Anyway, my favourite attraction is American Idol and my favourite ride is Space Mountain! I love it. I can't sing but I love to watch. DF's favourite is probably the Rockin' Roller-coaster. I like this too but I don't like the feeling of pulling off so quickly. I don't think I have a favourite park. My least is probably AK- It just doesn't sit easy with the animals sometimes. They just look incredibly fed up and I don't think the park should have rides. Just my opinion though. We LOVE Typhoon Lagoon. Living here we don't have the weather for outdoor waterparks such as this so it is a real novelty.
Now the first time we stayed at Disney we were at the Hilton Bonnet Creek. It was B.E.A.utiful! We loved it but found it very pricey and the restaurants didn't serve vegetarian food which was a bit of a bummer.
The second time we stayed at The Holiday Inn just outside Downtown Disney. I liked it here too, obviously it wasn't as special as the Hilton but it was nice all the same. I felt our room was haunted though so I didn't sleep well.
Now the reason we haven't stayed onsite previously was namely down to cost; we are UK residents so flights are pricey and my job means I need to travel during school holidays. Now I have been nagging DF for agggess for us to go back to Disney and I was keen to experience what I'd be like to stay on site. When the Free Dining offer came up I managed to persuade Ja that the saving was too good to miss and we should go for it. Low and behold- our next holiday was booked.
21st June 2014 for 14 nights at Coronado Springs with free QS dining plan. We won't upgrade as we only eat QS really and any table service meals we are best to pay OOP. I normally go for the child portions anyway. I chose the resort as per the advice on this website; it was a toss up between CB and CS and CS was the most popular with the majority.
So far I have literally just booked the holiday. I need to book the hotel for us to stay in the night before we travel (earlier I book the cheaper it is) and make arrangements for our menagerie. We have 3 horses, 2 chickens and a dog. Disney is the only place I consider worth leaving them for.
So that is it so far. I am keen for any tips- especially about room requests at Coronado. Also, we aim to take a trip to the beach this year but would like to book it as an excursion as we won't have a car.

So glad you're going to stay on-site! You're going to love it. My family and I stayed on-site for the first time last year and loved it. I wouldn't do it any other way.
Congrats on staying on site and the wdw trip . Have fun planning . My family loves CSR we are going back In 2014 as well . In Coronado we were in the cabanas section 8a close to the main pool and bus stop and short walk to the pepper market . The cabanas is our favorite section love the hammocks , sand . Great beautiful resort .
