As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I have to make a hotel decision. 4 people, 3 guys, 1 girl. We can always figure out different sleeping arrangements so beds may or may not be an issue. I want the MK to be easily accessible but something within our budget. Room to spread out would be nice but the main areas of the resort need to be easily reached by a member of our party with mobility issues. We have always stayed at the Contemporary but it may be out of our budget. I am looking into POFQ or The FW cabins and possibly considering the AoA as a last resort but that is nowhere near MK. Having not stayed at any of these or anything other than CR or GF I need opinions. Any help, thought and reviews are welcome THANKS!
As I was reading your post, the first thing that came to mind was the FW cabins.....until you mentioned the mobility issue. I have never stayed at FW so I don't have first hand experience but I often hear about people renting golf carts to get around the resort. The cost of the cart rental will increase the "actual" cost of the resort.
How far out is your trip? Have you considered renting DVC points? I have never rented points myself (I'm a DVC member so I have my own points ) but it sounds as if a 1 BR at BLT might meet your needs. My understanding is that renting points can be cost effective. One of the other big Disney message boards has info on rentals -both individuals renting their points and I know there is at least one company that does this -David's DVC rentals (?). Again, no personal experience with this but might be worth looking in to.

Have you considered WL? The access to MK is breeze (boat ride), as well as diner options at any MK resorts. We loved there, and had a great time. As we travel with a group including a >70y old person we asked for easy access rooms, and they were very accommodating.
You didn't mention if any of those ppl would be sleeping together. That can make how many beds you need an issue.
If you need 4 separate sleeping arrangements you could stay at the All Star Music Family Suite.
It has one Queen in the bedroom, one Queen sleeper sofa, one chair bed and one ottoman bed. The chair bed is big enough for a grown up to sleep in because I have a 12 year old who is 5 foot 8 and weighs 150 pounds and she slept in it just fine.
The ASMu suite will be cheaper than the new AOA suite.
If you request Calypso building at ASMu you will be right there in front of the lobby/food court/pool. Just request a ground floor room facing the parking lot (so you don't have to hear the pool noise all evening)
It should run you between $200 and $250 a night. And depending on when you are going you could get free dining for all of you. Most of the time the family suites at ASMu are included in the free dining promo.
The FW cabins also would give you 4 different sleeping areas. The double bed, the bunk beds and the sleeper sofa. But from what I have read it is very spread out and you really need a golf cart to get around the resort so the person with mobility issues probably wouldn't like FW.

I guess it depends on what the mobility issues are. At the cabins it has steps. Not really sure if they have ones that may have a ramp. Bed wise it is nice because the bedroom has a bed and bunkbeds plus the murphy bed in the living area. We did rent the golf cart which was fun to have. You could request a cabin close to the bus area or dock area depending on which you would be using most.
