As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). The Quest for 40 June 16 – 18, 2012 Old Key West Resort
Here I am again. Just a week after finishing my last TR, I’m starting another one. That’s how I roll. Actually, as happy as I am to be fortunate enough to travel as often as I do, it stinks writing so many TRs! But I do enjoy writing them once I get started. And now, I’ve started. Here’s a tip for you other TR slackers out there. Whenever I’m feeling lazy or uninspired, I force myself to write just one paragraph. Of course, once I start, I write more than a single paragraph. But even if I only write that one paragraph, it’s progress!
My goodness, how boring. Let me start again… I’m going to Disney World! And again I’ve given my TR a name that requires a long boring explanation. I’m sorry, I’ll try to punch it up as much as I can.
It’s all because of my PassPorter boards ticker. That little thing at the bottom of my signature that counts down the days, hours, minutes until my next trip. Whenever I update it (though I may have multiple trips planned, I only count down to my next one), I have trouble thinking of something clever to say. So a few trips ago now, I realized that I’d been giving my Premier Annual Pass quite a workout and had already used it more than 20 days (in just 5 months). So for my ticker, I put “Days 26 through 30” or whatever. I don’t remember exactly. Anyway, since that trip, whenever I updated it, I would just use the same thing, but with the new numbers.
So after returning from my trip in April, it was time to change my ticker for my Disneyland trip in July and I realized it would be the last trip on that AP. As I changed it to read “Days 34 through 38,” I started thinking. It’s a shame that I was so close to hitting the big 4-0 without making it. And it’s also a shame that I wouldn’t get to visit WDW again until the end of the summer. So, just for fun, ha! I decided to see if I could work in a trip.
First was getting time off from work. Because I’m an unimportant nobody getting time off isn’t really an issue at any time. However, I’ve got a lot cooking for the rest of the year, so I figured I’d make it a very short trip. That way, I didn’t have to dip into my vacation days. I could use one PTO (personal) day. I knew a long weekend would be enough of a fix to get me through. Man, I realize now how much I sound like an addict. Should I seek help? Don’t answer that!
Anyway, I had to choose a weekend to go. I wanted to make it in June, because the later it got, the hotter and more crowded it would get. Also, I wanted to wait until after Star Wars weekends. Oh, quit clutching your pearls! You know I don’t like Star Wars. For me, SWW just means more crowds! I picked a couple of possible dates and checked airfare. The flights were pretty reasonably priced for pretty much every weekend in June. I could fly for less than $250 round trip, including taxes. Okay, this might work.
Next I had to decide where to stay. I had some DVC points to use, and I really wanted to stay at OKW again, so I checked availability online. There was a studio available for the weekend of June 16 – 18, so I went ahead and booked it, then booked the airfare. After that, I realized it was Father’s Day weekend. Well, I’ll just have to get my DF something extra special, and give it to him one day late. He won’t mind not seeing me that day – we see each other all the time!
Up Next: This isn’t a solo trip!

I haven't even finished your other TR yet and here you are starting another one? I have an idea for you though - why don't you move to Florida and then commute to work when you need to instead of the way you're doing it. I think it will work a lot easier for you that way . Seriously though, I'm going to look forward to reading this report as I always enjoy your TR's.

Seriously, not sure which emotion is stronger, the envy that you are going, AGAIN, or the joy of another P-Sha TR?
Yeah a new TR. I just love reading all of your adventures. You inspire me to want to write a PTR. I just need to figure out how.....maybe tomorrow. Any whoo can't wait to hear more.BTW so jealous of the 40 days.....I have to settle for 8
