As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I'm not going to buy anything right now but in looking for ways to bring down my estimated costs for next year, I just looked at Undercover Tourist for tickets. There's not a huge amount of savings on the Disney tickets but a savings is a savings. I was also looking at the Sea World tickets - that was actually more of a savings at close to $50 (and every 50 I can save adds up). So can you guys tell me about Undercover Tourist? How can they charge less money for the tickets? How do the tickets work/when do they have to be used (especially the Sea World ones if anyone knows)? Thanks
I don't know about SeaWorld tickets, but have ordered DW tix several times from them & always had great service from them. I have no idea how they can discount them; perhaps they buy a huge amount of them in bulk? I have always used the special link through the Mousesavers newsletter to order, so I was able to save a bit more. The tickets are the same you'd buy at Disney, and they work the same way. I was even able to transfer them to my KTTW card.

We have used them for the past 3 visits. I am not sure really how it works, but we have always saved money. We are currently thinking if prices are going to be this high we might as well look into Going with an Annual pass and taking advantage of discounts. Sorry never used for Sea World. But I know several people besides us that have and never any problems.
We used them for Disney tickets in 2008, and I just used them for our Disney tickets last month (and our IoA 1-day tickets as well). I used the discount thru the newsletter. Nothing but good things to say about them. I'd highly recommend them. Shipping was fast (I think I had our tickets within 3 or 4 days of ordering them) and no problems using them. On our trip in 2008, we lost one of the tickets halfway thru the trip, and had no problems whatsoever getting it replaced. Last month, we used the 6-day PH tickets and upgraded them to add 2 days when we got there. Again, no issues!
That's great to know about saving a little bit extra with Mousesavers. I subscribe to them but I have to admit, with no vacation this year, I actually haven't been reading my emails to see about what kind of discounts they offer. When I get next month's email, I'll check it out since I have no idea where this month's email went to (it's not in the folder I made for them and it's not in the trash either so I don't know what happened to it). It's also great to know that I can put them on my KTTW card if I wanted. The less I have to carry/risk losing, the better. Is it easy to add the tickets? Can I do this at the resort or would I have to go it at the parks?
As for the Sea World tickets, I can always call as it gets closer. The only reason why I asked about those is because on the Sea World website, I occasionally notice good deals on tickets but a lot of times, they have to not only be bought by a specific date but they also have to be used by a specific date and it's not always the end of the year. Nor does it seem to coincide with the time frame we'd actually be there either from the deals I looked at recently. The UT tickets don't specify any kind of time frame and I'd hate to buy the tickets to learn I can't use them.
Undercover Tourist is a ticket wholesaler that's how they can offer a slight discount. I have used them a couple of times for my own tickets, and they have excellent customer service.
We've used them too Darlene for WDW tickets. They send real tickets, not vouchers, and don't charge shipping either. With some other ticket sites, you don't see all the charges- tax, shipping till you check out. UT has the total charge right there, no surprises.
Last time we used them, I think we saved $20 per ticket. That's a couple of CS meals!
I was impressed at how fast we got our tickets, even shipped free to Canada
Yes, the resort can add the tickets to the KTTW cards.
I just went to the concierge desk at the resort & they were able to put the tix on the KTTW card w/o any problems. I even went back a couple of days later & added another day, again, no issues. Unless I was getting a Disney package, this is the only way I'd buy my tickets. Happy Planning!!

This is very good info. I can definitely see times in the future when we could go this route, save a little moolah, and still not have to deal with separate cards for resort and parks. Thanks!
I called and ordered my 4 - 5 day park passes with water park option. I am waiting for them to come to my home. This is my 3rd time using them and I LOVE that there is free shipping and no extras to pay. I call because I like ordering them over the phone. Love their customer service! : )
I even bought this time Universal Studios tickets: I priced it on UCT and US website. US was alot more money, because they charged $14.00 for shipping and taxes/fees were $40.77.
I would definitely recommend Under Cover Tourist for Park Tickets!
