As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We're hoping to plan a relatively quick trip (3nights/4days) to WDW in mid-March. It's Spring break time, so I know it'll be busier than normal. We're trying to decide between BC and CSR. Here are our thoughts on the two and then I wanted to get other opinions.
Pros BC:
We could get a room with enough beds that DD15 and DS13 could have their own.
It's walking distance to Epcot and HS, which would be good for a busy time.
The pool
It's a deluxe
Never stayed there
Cons BC:
Cost
Noise- the two deluxes we've stayed in recently have had much higher noise levels because of the interior hallways. We've stayed in moderates many times without hearing (at all hours) doors slamming and people talking. 3 of the 4 of us are light sleepers and it was quite a problem.
Pros CSR:
Cost- we could get two rooms for the price of one at BC
We really like the resort- stayed there twice-love the food court & pool
No shared buses
Cons CSR:
We'd have to rely totally on bus system (or drive our own car)
Stayed there already
One of my biggest concerns is BC is twice as much as CSR and I can't decide if it's worth it. The other is the noise. There's nothing worse than being exhausted after a day at the parks and disruptions keeping you up or waking you early.
I would love any input. TIA

Well we love the BC because of its proximity to EPCOT, HS and our bus service was just fine as well. It is a very lovely resort. The convenience factor is huge for us. SAB is wonderful as well and a definite perk but the time of year we go the weather is questionable (didn't really get to enjoy it at all last time). Noise was not a concern what so ever for us (but again, slower season). Love the choice of restaurants. We mostly have our evening meals at EPCOT or nearby no matter where we spend the day. The BC works perfectly for us and is well worth the expense
We chose CSR for our March trip of four nights. We usually do Deluxe when the whole family travels to WDW, except once in 2000. The reason I chose it was the price, queen beds, and my DD and I have stayed there twice and liked it. We're bringing an Areobed so our kids have their own beds (DD16 and DS18).
As much as I love the deluxe resorts in the Epcot area...I prefer to stay in them when it's value season or we have a great discount. Spending twice as much doesn't make sense to me.
Did you check the discounts? More just came out recently. We loved BC last Aug. and having a day bed would be nice for your kids. SAB is fantastic. And walking to 2 parks is a big plus. Having said that, I wouldn't pay full price. As much as I love it, I will only stay if I have a discount.
Never stayed at CSR. Our fav mod. is POR. The new rooms in AB section of POR have Murphy beds, so you'd have 2 queens + murphy.
We've only had a noise problem once at WDW resorts, and it was at POR (but could have been any moderate or value with outside doors) thankfully it was our last day, or I would have been asking to move rooms. The family that moved in next door let their kids run yelling & screaming up & down the outside walkways, run in & out of the room, slamming the door, every 2 sec. It was horrible. I stuck my head out the door, and the mom asked me if there was a problem Sheech.
Never had a problem any other time at mod or deluxe.
Just have to weigh whether or not you feel like spending double for the BC. Love both resorts, but you have to decide if you think it's worth it. May want to book the BC when the discounts are a bit heavier in the value season.

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
We love the Beach Club, so I'm going to biased! I think it's down to how much time you'll spend at the resort and whether you feel the additional cost is worth it, based on that. I have to say though that if you go with the Beach Club, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I like CSR and would choose that over some of the Deluxe resorts. We have always had good luck with the bus system there and its been about the best of any WDW resort.
If you have the money and it isn't an issue, then Beach Club would be my choice. We always used to get 2 Beach Club rooms for us and my parents every year. Now it seems impractical since we are barely in our rooms, so we just stay at Pop Century. However, Beach (or Yacht) Club will always be my first love! The pool is fabulous at BC, and you should be able to use it in March. The ability to walk to Epcot is our favorite thing about the resort.
We were at Disney last March (3/10-3/18). It is super busy then due to Spring Breaks that are starting up. We were in for the UCA Nationals Cheerleading competition held at Disney, which is 3/10/12-3/11/12 this year. That brings in thousands of cheerleaders and typically they use the Indiana Jones stage for the competition. So, if you are going during that time period, plan accordingly.

Too many Disney World trips to count! Love every second of them!
It really boils down to what are you planning to do at WDW. If you are going to be really hitting the parks it may not be worth the xtra cost. That said BC is a fantastic resort and should be on your to do list. When our kids were teens we'd cut them loose and my wife and I would relax at the resort and enjoy the amenities.
Another thing is what the furue holds for you. How many more trips do you plan on? Other new expenses ( college etc) may restrict vacation spending. SO if you can afford it enjoy as you never know what tomorrow will bring.
