As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We made it home after an amazing trip!!!!!!! This was by far the best Disney trip we have ever taken and I have so many stories and photos (600+ total taken) to share!
First though, and explanation on the title. DS recently underwent a personality change and instead of preferring to be called a Ninja Assassin, he prefers Iron Man. The kid is bound and determined to be Iron Man when he grows up, so I being the creative mom assured him that IM was an engineer which means DS needs to be practicing lots of math and science all the time...to which DS gladly volunteered to do whole pages of worksheets
So back to the title....Iron Man is well known around our family and friends for his absolutely hilarious one liners.....many a time he has had me and this trip was no exception. We like to term his quotes Deep Thoughts (remember Jack Handy on SNL???). Iron Man has so many quotes that DH and I began keeping a running log between the notepad function on our phones and text mesages....and believe me I plan to share them all with you!
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.....errr I mean TR

So I am a firm believer in wasting as little vacation time as possible with travel...thus the reason I prefer to fly most places. On top of that, my kiddos are pretty good morning people since they get up during the week at 5:30am. That being said, our 3am wake up for our flight HURT! The only thing that got everyone moving and out the door on time was that we were headed for DISNEY!!!!
We got to San Antonio airport and all of our bags checked. Adam travels so much for work on Delta that we could have checked 8 bags for free....which would have been ridiculous! But we did however check 4 of them to ensure enough space to bring souveniers home. Since we had early flights we knew the kids would sleep most of the way, so all they brought on the plane were their ipods, thus making security even easier to traverse (oh and I am a big fan of TSA not making kids under 12 take their shoes off anymore!)
Our first flight to Memphis was quiet as usual. Another perk of Adam's traveling is that he always gets his ticket upgraded to first class if there is a seat available. Well being the super awesome husband that he is, he gave me his upgrade and volunteered to sit with the kiddos back in coach...LOVE THAT MAN!!!!!
We only had a 30 min layover in Memphis and thankfully our gates were only 10 apart. Well as luck would have it, Adam got yet another upgrade which he passed along to me, but it also meant we got to board first. The kiddos were already in their Mickey shirts and ready for the parks, and as soon as we walked on the plane the steward asked where they were going. The of course yelled DISNEY WORLD! He then told them to walk in to the cockpit and tell the pilot he needed to get them to Disney world. Kayla was too nervous to do so, so Carter volunteered. He walked right in and said "umm excuse me but can you please take me to Disney World?" That put the biggest grin on the pilots face and he invited them right in to learn how to fly a plane They were so excited!
Time for both of them to practice their "takeoff" and "landing" I have to give big kudos to the Delta crew on this flight because this was truly a wonderful start to the vacation for these 2 They also received pilots wings for being as Iron Man stated "the bestest pilots ever in the world"
After about 5 minutes in the cockpit we all made our way to our seats (me in 1st class again...YIPPEE!!) This flight was a bit longer and I was able to catch up on some reading. At some point during the end of the flight Adam turned to Carter to ask him to put his tray table back up. Evidently it scared the poor guy cause he jumped and then couldn't remember how to do it.... in his haste all that he could think of to say is "do you hate me?!?!?!" of course Adam said no, but he had to keep from laughing because he knew Carter didnt even realize what he had said.
We landed about 20 min early into Orlando and made a very smooth transition downstairs towards DME. When we got there, there was a bit of a wait for our bus as one had just left, but probably nothing more than 5 or 10 minutes. Then is was time for us to board our bus!
Iron Man of course rode with mom (or as he likes to call me his "pretty lady") As we approached the entrance to the bubble, the driver announced to everyone where we were. I pointed out the sign to IM and he instantly leapt into my lap and gave me the biggest hug ever and a kiss and then said with the biggest smile "thanks for taking me to Disney World, you are the bestest mom ever!!!" Talk about melting my heart
Up next: And we're off!!
Oh and can anyone tell me why my photos look thumbnail size on here???

Great start to your trip!! How fun that they got to go into the cockpit. Can't wait to hear the next part of your story.
Not sure how to help you with the photos as I use Flickr to upload my pictures and add the url here. Not sure how it works when you upload right to the forum. Hopefully someone else can help you!

What an awesome beginning to your trip! Kudos to the Delta pilots!
When I check your pictures, the dimensions are just that small. I always up load mine to Photobucket first where I can adjust the size and then use the code to load them directly into my TR.
