As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

The Oh No We are going to miss our flight update 7/20/2011
Hello My name is Hallie. My family and I went to Disney April 17th to April 23 this is my trip report I hope u enjoy. Sorry I Trip report is a little late but Have a great day I will try to add photos once I find out how to.
The Day: April 17, 2011:
We got up early on this day it was 3:00am so not a morning person. Got dressed, since we needed to leave out the door a 5:00am. It was all for the love of Disney. So 5:00 comes and we are waiting for are car service to come to pick us up. We normally don't use a car service to take us to an airport but we are using a different airport and didn't really know how to get their and didn't know their parking policy.
So its 5:00 no driver no worry right. 5:00 came and went. 5:05 came and went little panic we called the driver their was no answer. 5:10 came mom calls the car service company leaves a message. 5:13 mom calls the travel company to let them know the situation. 5:14 the car company calls, they couldn’t get a hold of the driver they could send us another driver but as my mother who doesn’t yell hardly ever. Is yelling No thank you we are now late and probably not going to make our flight now she hangs up on them. 5:15 we pack the 2 cars up. And head out to find this airport, which we never been to before.
My mother calls the travel company and told them we are going to need to stop an get gas for our car, and that we are going to try to find the airport ourselves. She said to travel company is their anyway you can call them to let them know the situation. Which they did. He guy who she was talking to told her that the last time for final check in was 6:15. They give us directions to he airport and we went on our way.
It took us 45 minutes to get to the airport. It though for sure we are going to miss our flight. We made it just in time. We had a line to wait in anyways to check-in. They took our names. Said all 6 of you made it. They told us to go to another line. We check-In at the 2nd spot. The lady gave us our passes and info we needed. Then we went to move to the next line to check our check in bags, told to move to the next line to get screened and carry-on’s checked.
We finally got to go to the gate it was 6:45. At around 7:30am They started to make final checks and started to call seats. We had good seats, we had 3 exit seats and 3 seats before that. The seating went like this My mother, brother in law and father in the exit row. My niece, sister and myself in the row a head.
My mother says to my sister, hey just a small reminder your sister that’s me isn’t’ big on flying. That’s true I am not. I don’t like take off or landing.
The plane takes off I am starting to stress a little bit. I focus on the drink menu, saying this would be a great time to have something strong. The plane finally lays out and I am all good now. Few moments later the flight attendants who are all really nice. Come by with snacks they say take 2 snacks each wow never did we get to snacks. A little bit later She comes back and takes are drink order, I choose a Dr Pepper, sister and my niece take ginger ale. My mom and brother in law had coffee, my dad had a coke.
She come back gives us our drink and then comes back again and say have another snack great and I took a cup of water. Come to think of it now I had to cups of water. Then a little while later captain comes on saying we are close to Orland about 20miles away. We waited to land, finally we land and had to wait for our gate to be free. We finally get to the gait, head out of the plane. And all of us get settled.
We start to walk to Magical Express. Everyone kept telling me I was going the wrong way well I knew I wasn’t. After Arguing which way was Magical Express, they all agreed I was going the right way after all. See I told them Magical Express. We get to the check-in counter get in the line for Pop Century.
I get on face book to let my friends know we made it safe. We load finally and on to pop we go we made one stop before pop. Then we so the Pop Sign. Yahoo! We got right to the check in counter and greeted by a nice Cast member who told us our room was ready. Sweet! My sister was next and was told her room was almost ready so she took her bags to bell service. Went to lunch while My mom, dad and myself went to our room. Then head down to Everything Pop. it’s a nice little counter service place and the gift shop is nice to.
After lunch my sister went to see if her room was ready, it was so she went to pick up her carry-on bags up. Our room are nice and we all decided to head to the buses and go to Magic Kingdom. I love Magic Kingdom. We have a family tradition when all 6 of us go to Disney we have to head to the Walt Disney World Railroad. We ride it all around. Then we walk down main street USA.
Since My mom and I decided this trip we would take it slow. We told the other 4 in the group to go ahead and get a fast pass if any are left for Thunder Mt. or Splash Mt. So my mom and I walked around we saw that Snow White ride was 10 minutes. Well the time lied it was more like 30 minutes. We walked around and got a snack and waited for the group. Finally the group got back together. The 4 of them decided to do thunder mt. We walked around a little more rode a few more things and then it was 7:00 time for dinner. So we head to Liberty Tree Tavern. Meal was good. We all decide we are to tired to continue we went back to pop, went for a swim and called it a night. That was day one.

Welcome back to my trip report. Lets Back up.
Before I start day two I for got to add about the day before for we left we dropped 2 of the dogs off at the Spa, okay it’s a kennel but they call it a spa. We took the 3rd dog to the breeders house because she need to go to a dog show while we were away. I went to work as my parents took them for me. When I left home to go to work it was nice an sunny, when I got in to work it was raining and it didn’t stop. I got done with work at around 7p.m. and was stressing because I kept think I don’t have time now if I for got anything.
So I get home and we are having Pizza, it was okay nothing special. We finish up any last packing and around 9 - 9:30 we take are suitcase down to the family room. We turn on the TV. And What do we see, Tornado warning. Tornado was going to be in county to which our airport was at. Yikes great. All I keep thinking at that point was who do we contact, Travel agency is closed. We stayed up until about 10:30.
When we got up the next morning, the tornado must have passed by but their was no damage to the airport and we didn’t hear much about if their was any real damage to the area, or if it went around the area. So I am guess everything was fine and that it was just a warning instead.
This was pre travel day
