As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Wondering what your guys' favorite rides/stuff at disney .... going with mom and our dh's...... moms db was the reluctant party to go...but now he wants to see what disney has to offer....he means by this other than golf and spa....so im curious to.see what y'all like at the parks

The rides first and foremost. People watching is fun and the restaurants are enjoyable. But I'm also going with an 11 YO so we do a lot of things geared towards kids but that's okay by me. Talking kids, does you mom's SO know no matter his age, it's okay to act 5 years old at Disney? That's part of the fun too.
Disney is for kids of any age! We've always had a child with us, too, but if just my hubby and I went we would still do rides, or shall I say attractions. We would also stroll EPCOT and take in more of the shops, possibly alcohol tasting, and definitely the restaurants.
We have friends who have done adult only trips to Disney and "sipping" their way through EPCOT was a highlight. Also, staying out late, as when we are with our 8 year old, he needs to go to bed eventually.
I'm a big ride fan, so the coasters are always a must. I also love the World Showcase, and without kids, I can take the time to just enjoy each country - the atmosphere, the food, the drink. Now, my friend and I have also done Kim Possible missions and taken photos with characters. I also love all of the nighttime events - I always stay for Illuminations and Fantasmic especially.

We are great fans of adult only trips - started with our honeymoon and have done at least 10 since then. Last on in May with our youngest daughter (26) and friend who has never been to WDW without kids. We also sip our way through EPCOT and that can be alcoholic or non either good. Love to try the restaurants there as well. We always do the night emh great time to get on the rides that have long lines normally during day. Soarin' is my dh favorite ride but we still do some of the kiddie rides and the new alternative line at HM is a hoot means more to adults than kids. Dh doesn't do rollercoasters anymore but I loooove them and my dd and I rode all of them. The shows are neat to go to in all the parks and the electrical parade on seven seas lagoon/bay lake are good ones to catch during dinner at narcoosee's or from the beach at the contemporary. 50's prime time cafe is great for people watching and playing along with the waiter/ess. The new version of star tours is fantastic unless someone can't handle simulators. The resorts near EPCOT and MK are great for catching a meal, drink in or just sightseeing and there is always DTD. Get an icecream cone and sit near the noodle station for the night fireworks and watching tinkerbell fly from the castle. Be a kid again or enjoy the perks of being an adult!!!!
There is so much to do at Disney for a group of just adults, we go at least 3 times a year and never get bored! I highly recommend drinking around the world, taking in all the World Showcase has to offer in terms of shows, fireworks, great meals, tours, and have you thought about seeing either La Nouba or Hoop De Doo Review?
We love the restaurants - it's one of our main draws to WDW. The behind the scenes tours are fantastic as well. We've never taken a bad one yet. : Also things like La Nouba are superb.
We are going 2012 fall...Late Sept, Oct, or early Nov.
Thanks everyone for usch awesome imput I want to take the hesitant party (and the rest of us) to EVERYTHING....but there won't be time (boo) so trying to weed out somethings he will really get into to add to our (ever growing) "must see\do" list. DHS for RNRC is at the top...DHS and AK were not yet build for his one horrid trip umpteen years ago (before we knew him). He loves roller coasters and lovesclassic rock so I know he's love this ride. Also the safari @ AK - I think he would enjoy seeing animals that appear to all be roaming free.
My DH and I are very casual @ WDW when we go - not rigid by the book hour by hour planners (biggest perk w\ no kids imo)....so I want to keep it relaxed so no one gets frustrated but we can still show mom's DH really cool stuff....so he'll want to go back (I know already scheming LOL)

Well, for a coaster fan, do not miss Expedition Everest in AK. And by going sometime between Sept-Nov, you should be able to hit the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot - I cannot tell you how much I love that.
Drink around the world at Epcot and split an afternoon salad at the Brown Derby.
Ride Pirates during the night parade at M.K.
Don't spend a ton of money on food, that will stress people out. We stayed in room with a oven and brought a spiral ham. One evening of room service cost as much as 3 days of groceries. Don't get me wrong, we bought groceries, but even the experience of buying a cheeseburger in Tomorrowland was unpleasant.
Explore the resorts. Take the DVC tour when you first get there and they will give you a choice of some free premiums.
Consider lunch with an Imagineer or some other interesting tours at MK or Epcot. The firework show at Epcot is awesome.

In some ways, we have more fun at Disney without our kids! In addition to the things everyone else has mentioned, here are some more thoughts:
--Check out Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk. It's a dueling piano bar that is a TON of fun.
--I don't know where you're staying, but think about renting a Sea Raycer or maybe a larger boat for your whole party or kayak or canoe. Boat rentals are available at BC, CBR, CR, POR, GF, Poly, WL, YC, FW, OKW, CSR and Downtown Disney Marketplace
-- Or book a guided fishing excursion. These are available at pretty much the same places as the boats, but substitute BW for BC and add SSR.
On our trips without kids, we mostly just enjoy some of the nicer dining options and indulge in some FABs!
You can also check out some of the tours that are for the more mature set. I know my son and I waited years for him to be 16 so we could do the segway tour at EPCOT. My daughter is almost 16, so we have had to wait again. I can't wait until we return next fall and can enjoy all the tours that have been restricted for us due to their age.
I really enjoy doing the Kim Possible missions. They help me really check out World Showcase.
An added bonus on my last couple of solo trips have been the families who came up to me and asked me about it - On my last trip, I saw one of those families doing a mission later in the day after they watched me do part of one.
