As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

On FB, I am Friends with a couple (we're also friends in real life) who are married. They use FB as a communication tool between them sometimes. I think it's kind of cute - but now I know they're going away, that she's planned a weekend to "Knock your socks off" and they're dropping the kids off at grandma's. None of the posts are graphic, they're just suggestive.
Now, I love this couple and think they're great people, but I wish they'd learn to not do this. Some things are private and a small memo or actually TALKING to each other may be best.
Should I say something? No-one comments on their little "notes" to each other, so I wonder if they KNOW others can see them?

It sounds like they're doing it to entertain those who follow them on FB. I would just ignore it. If no one comments on it, maybe the thrill will be over soon and they'll stop.
Those who have to talk about it, probably aren't doing it. Especially if their mode of communication is through Face Book.
Either that or they have a voyeurism (sp??) fetish.
I say, pretend you don't know what they are talking about and ask a question, like "So, did you find your socks that got knocked off? Was it the cat that knocked them off?"

My BFF and her husband do this sometime and it annoys me, as I know they are sitting next to each other while typing the messages. Sometimes, I like people overshare too much on FB.
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see anything suggestive about either of those posts. "Knocking your socks off" to me means they are planning to do something extraordinary, and I don't think there is a sexual connotation. Mythbusters even did a show on whether one could actually get socks knocked off. And depending on the age of the kids, leaving them with the grandparents may just mean they can get a meal together and talk without interruption and spilled food.
So I would not say anything. And if you don't like their posts, don't read them.

I agree. They know what they are doing and that other's are reading their posts.
I would let it go and if it really bothers you, then I wouldn't read them anymore.

They're adults, they're married...maybe I'm not clear on all the details, but I'm pretty sure they're allowed to sass each other in public or private.
I post little love notes on my husband's fb page once in a while. Nothing salacious, but definitely sassy. I find it odd when couples completely ignore each other on facebook!
I deleted my FB account, but there was a married couple I was FB friends with who constantly posted sexually suggestive stuff back and forth to one another. I mean, good for you, but I really don't need to know all of the details of what you like to do in the bedroom, mmmkay? I ended up hiding their posts.
At first I thought maybe they didn't realize what they were posting was showing up on all of their friends' walls and not just their own. Given the way they act in public, however, I'm going to say they knew exactly what they were doing.

That's what I'm trying to say. I edited (heavily) in my original post. One of the things I think that bothers me is that this couple makes a living teaching young children - and some of those kids (a lot of them) are this couple's FB friends.
I usually gloss over what they post, but at times, it gets a bit much.
