As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Need help with new dinning!!!
So I am in the midst of planning meals for the family and we would really like to try a few new places. Problem is we are vegetarians and some of the places just don't have anything that is overly appealing to us. The other issue is I have such a hard time using 2 table service credits for a signature restaurant when our meal would be under $20 or just over $20 each. I really want to book at least 2 new meals....any suggestions??

Sanaa is great for vegetarians. Not alot of choices but the food is very good and is truly vegetarian. Most buffets offer enough choices,too (not Biergarten). I have found that the chef will usually walk you through the menu or the buffet items and point out what is available. They have always been willing to create something special too.
I have found that most places will accomodate a vegetarian very well. I usually mark the reservation as "special diet" or "vegetarian" and consult with the server and chef. I have been pleased each time. Evne when the menu does not list vegetarian options, the chefs have been willing to cook something special.
Some especially good choices:
Kouzina (Veggie Briyami is good)
Kona (Chef will make something special)
1900Park Faire (many buffet choices and chef TJ is so great to vegetarians!)
Tutto Italia (several choices on the menu)
Cali Grill - I know you don't want to spend 2TS (and I understand) but I really had one of the best vegetarian "creations" here (was not on menu)
Wolfgang Puck Express (and possibly the other two WGP as well)

As Cheryl asked, where have you already been? I think the best suggestion for anyone with a multitude of "personalities" traveling together, or eaters with specific "tastes;" i.e. vegetarians, picky eaters, etc., would be the buffets! There is something for everyone.
Boma is amazing and more exotic (while normal too!), Cape May Buffet is great if you have seafood lovers (and haters), as well as 1900 PF, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, etc. for younger (or young-at-heart) ones who want characters, etc.
Have you been to Boma? As Kelly said, it really offers a lot of veggie options.
Also, have you tried Via Napoli? A quick glance at their menu shows several options with interesting salads and of course, pizza possibilities. From what I've heard, the pizzas are rather large, making it possible for diners to share making the cost a bit more reasonable.

OK lets see, We have done Boma, Yak and Yeti,Tusker house for lunch and dinner, Sci Fi, Hollywood and Vine, Akershus, Rose and Crown, Garden Grill, Coral Reef, Chefs de France,Cinderellas Royal table, Tony's, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Chef Mickeys, 1900 PF, Cali Grill, and Ohanas. There was one more that I can't remember I think at Old Key West but It was years ago. I am pretty sure that is all of them otherwise. We will have 3 kids with us a 12yo, 3yo and 6month old. I know this will take a few out of the running(like Cali grill). Someone mentioned the Cape May buffet. Was there really enough if you ate no meat or seafood? I looked at the sample menu on allears and it didn't look like enough to make my DH happy. Thanks everyone for the ideas, I will be adding Sanaa to the list. Via Napoli is on there too. I would love to try La Hacienda but the menu didn't really have anything on it that I could see. I think we may also try Mama Melrose. Thanks again!!!

I'm a vegetarian and honestly I've never had a problem finding something to eat at a TS. 50's PTC had ratatouille stuffed green pepper that was very tasty and the atmosphere was very fun. Mama Melrose had a delicious eggplant parmesan dish. That was about 4 years ago so I'm not sure if their menu has changed. Even Le Cellier had a great vegetarian dish especially since it's known for it's steak. They had a potato gnocchi and one of the best side salads I've ever had. I'm not sure if Le Cellier dinner became 2 credits yet and it looks like the gnocchi is only at dinner. At lunch they have a porcini mushroom ravioli that looks really good.
If you don't see anything you like don't hesitate to ask your server if there's anything else they can make. Disney is very accommodating.

Well This is what we have come up with, drum roll please...
Breakfast-
Whispering Canyon Cafe-brand new to us never ate hear!
Tusker House-Ate hear but never for breakfast
Crystal Palace-Ate hear but never for breakfast
1900 PF-old hat, and one of our favorite breakfasts in WDW
Lunch-
Via Napoli-Brand new to us
Mama Melrose-Brand new to us plus I think we will try it as the fantasmic pkg (more for the appetizer then the entry)
Hollywood & Vine- Old hat and a fav of DH
Dinner-
Sanaa-Brand new to us
Tutto Italia-Brand new to us
Ohana- Did this once in 2006
Coral Reef- Did this in 2009 but it appears they have changed the menu so kinda new to us
Rose and Crown- Old hat but DD's favorite in the whole of Disney world(shes a big fan of the UK)
So we have added several new places to our list. I really want to try Le Cellier but I was out voted on that one(Coral Reef won). I will be trying it on our nest visit
