As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Has anyone gone to HHN yet this year? I have tickets for the 28th and that wil be my first time attending a HHN, so I was just wondering what people thought about this years, or if there were any reviews?

I've been several times over the years, and it's always top notch scary Halloween fun. And I mean scary! Definitely NOT for younger kids and sensitive teens.
If you haven't purchased the Express Pass for that night and assuming there are still some left (limited amount sold), I highly suggest you do. Lines for the haunted houses get up to 2 hours long and rides are no better. We forked over $60+ per person this year and it will be well worth it. It means seeing all of the houses compared to spending most of the night in line for the houses!
Skip the Bill & Ted's show unless you have time. The Horror Effects show is good. But mainly, we have just enough time to take in the scare zones and try to hit most of the houses and rides.

The suggestion about the Express Pass was dead on. I've been 10+ times with no Express Pass...and then last year we got the Express Pass. I will never go without it again. Ever. I know it's $$, but it makes a HUGE difference!
ETA: One tip about Bill & Ted....we usually get there right when HHN opens, and go to the very first showing. It's usually not good and dark when HHN starts, and I like to save the houses/scare stuff till when it is. We head to the show, and by the time we get out - darkness!

oooh thanks so much for the tips! I actually have already purchased the express passes just because I was afraid the lines would be long, and for the amount of money it costs to go, I want to be able to experiences all the houses and scare zones. Hopefully we can try and see everything there. My DBF will be more scared than I, I used to work as a zombie at Scarowinds in NC/SC so I am knda familiar with haunted attractions, but oh boy it will be a blast to see him scared! lol.

You did the right thing by getting the express pass, they are worth every cent! had we not gotten them we would have one been able to do one or two houses. We went last year, I hear this year is pretty awesome!
We are doing next year on halloween!
I went a few weeks ago and I'm going tomorrow. I thought the event was pretty good. Not to miss houses are Psychoscarepy, Legendary Truth, and Zombiegeddon. The HHN past house is great if you are a HHN geek.
The Bill and Ted show was the worst I've ever seen in the 12 years that I've attended HHN. I would see it after you are done with the houses if you really want to watch it. The show was just not funny this year.
Wow!!! The Express Pass paid for itself by the first house! We didn't leave the park (we got to US at 11am), we just hung out a Finnegans Pub until the let us go into the first house 30 minutes prior to opening the park again. The line was huge (since it was the ONLY thing open at that time). we just walked up to the express pass entrance and walked right in!!!
We completed all 8 houses in 1.5 hours then hit all the scare zones, Jaws and the Simpsons.
I thought the Havoc house was the best. The scare zone with all the characters from previous years was the best yet!! I got pics with almost everybody.
Didn't think I could still be scared by the guys with chainsaws, but, just as I was trying to take a picture, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! Got a lovely shot of the ground.
Really wish I still lived in Florida, I go every weekend!!

Did you get your Express Pass yet? They only sell a set amount for each night.
Wish Universal had a Key to the Kingdom type set up. I had two sets of tix consisting of: our 2 day park pass, Meal Deal ticket, CityWalk dinner add on tix, HHN tix, HHN Express Pass tix AND our Room Key!!
