As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). DH has a business trip to Paris at the end of Sept and I am going along. We have decided to spend our last day there in Disneyland.
As we are only going for the day I would love to know what we should not miss. We have been to DL in Anaheim and WDW, so I can't wait to see the differences.
You'll love Disneyland Paris at that time of the year. They really celebrate Halloween, which is a little odd, as generally over on this side of the pond, we make much less of a deal of it than in the States!
I personally always love to see the different parks' versions of the Disney classic rides, like Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion (called Phantom Manor in Paris). We're not big coaster or thrill ride fans, but if you are, I hear Indiana Jones is good in the Park and Crush's Coaster in the Studios, both of which are unique to Paris.
We really enjoy Animagique and Cinemagique in the Studios and Stitch Live is another unique show well worth seeing. In the Park itself, our favourites include Alice's Curious Labyrinth, the Dragon's Den in the castle, the self-tour upstairs in the castle and Nautilus, although sadly that seems to be open less and less. It wasn't open at all during our most recent visit in June.
I'm with Chez, Halloween at DLP is amazing! You should definitely plan to some time to explore "Halloweenland" (which is a part of Frontierland transformed for the season).
My favorites at DLP are: Space Mountain (since it's so different from the US versions), Big Thunder Mountain and Haunted Mansion (both different from the US parks), Alice Curious Labyrinth (can't find it anywhere else), and Indiana Jones (wicked roller coaster!).
At the Walt Disney Studios Park, I LOVE Crush's Coaster (!!!!!!!!!!) - one of my two absolute favorite rides in all Disney parks. There are many unique attractions at this park. I like Animagique (a live show), Stitch Live, Tower of Terror (not unique as it's like the one in California but still cool ). By October, the brand-new Toy Story Playland will be open with three all-new attractions.

I can see where this mis-information could come from. Since it's latest overhawl, the Space Mountain at Disneyland Paris has been called Space Mountain: Mission 2 since they did some considerable changes.

No, it's just one called "Space Mountain: Mission 2." Very, very different from the Space Mountains on this side of the pond - Mission 2 launches you similar to the Rock 'n Roller Coaster AND goes upside down. It's one of my husband's favorite coasters, but he says to avoid riding it right after eating

The longest we waited was for Crush's Coasters (60minutes) but it was soooo worth the wait...this is now one of my favorite Disney attractions.. The other long wait we had was for Phantom Manor (40 minutes). Besides those 2 we never waited more than 15 minutes. We managed to do all the attraction on our must-do list as well as our nice-to-do list.
Our favorites included Crush, Big Thunder (so much better than US version), Space Mountain (again better than US) and Armageddon ( we almost skipped this one because we had no idea what it was). We also enjoyed Halloweenland.
The only disappointment was Indiana Jones, we enjoyed it but we had seen a tv special on Roller Coasters and it said this was a backwards roller coaster.
Are overall impression was that DLP was a smaller version of the US parks that incorporated the best of WDW and DL, but added it's own European flair to it.
We are trying to figure out a time to bring the kids.

It used to go backwards but the switched it back to forwards a few years ago. I loved it when it went backwards. A whole new experience! Must have been too intense for most people or something?
