As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I have a question... has anyone had this "problem" come up?
First of all, my husband loves scrapping as much as I do... most of the time, that is! He likes to create pages for family scrapbooks... and he's pretty good at it! Now that we're heading for WDW in June and driving there, we're making the lists of what we need to take. He floored me when he suggested that we take stuff to do scrapbooking on the trip!
His idea is that we use the daily summary pages from the Passporter book to capture everything we have done each day... while the memories are still fresh. Then we can add it to a 12x12 page, add embellishments, etc. The pictures will be added to other pages afterwards.
I thought that this is a terrific idea! So often we forget some detail after we return home from a trip. Now comes the problem of limiting myself as to what we bring!

I do the Digital Scrapbooking so I get it all electronically, what I cannot I scan upon returning, but I like the idea and it sounds fun!
It would be very timely to do that. You will have to let us know how that works out. Personally I probably would not get much done as I have trouble even jotting down notes in my PP.
Sounds like a great plan for you both however I would just take my PP and make notes and also some journal cards. After downloading my photos each night I'd pick co-ordinationg journal cards and write down my thoughts. The rest of the page could be done at home. (You won't catch me 'wasting' my downtime on vacation by scarapbooking - it's a time I savour for reliving memories AFTER we get home). So my answer is take as little as you can...
I love to take trips with my closest scrappin buddies just to scrapbook, but I don't think I'd take my stuff to WDW. If you spend all day in the parks you will be exhausted!!
Last year we spent a week at the beach. We brought our scrappin stuff thinking we'd be relaxed in the evenings and could scrap - wrong!! We did it one night. It wasn't worth it to lug that stuff on vacation. I think I'd just take notes or do journaling at WDW and save the actual scrapbooking for home - that will let you relive the memories. You will enjoy it much more IMHO.

We then put those in (technically having gotten two copies so one could be "face up" with the picture & the other could be "face down" with what we wrote. Worked out rather well imho.
But we have never taken scrapping supplies with us. Home, that's a different story.

My mom is an avid scrapbooker but even she didn't bring stuff to WDW.
I would hate carrying extra stuff in my suitcase to give myself extra stuff to do while on vacation. I have yet to fill out the pp envelopes on the back but I will be this trip. The only reason for that is since we are packing light, we are doing laundry half way through. It will be hard for me to tell days apart when we have pics of us in the same clothes again during the same week. So when my mom goes to scrapbook it all, I can give her a general idea of day and what happened
