As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

Holy crap, I just found this area of the forums, I'm going to be on here even more now!
Anyway, my question is about autograph albums. I made an album for my DD to use when we are there in May. I glued paper onto a 6x6 ring chipboard alums, then used chalk ink to color the edges so they weren't regular old brown. I am wondering what to use to keep the corners stuck down and from getting all bent up? Would something like mod podge work? I've never used it before. And would the characters still be able to sign on top of that? Any other suggestions?
I hate to say it, but I HATE mod podge! I used it on an autograph book of DD's and had issues with the pages sticking together, even after giving each page plenty of time to dry. I even used the MP for paper and to this day when I open that album, some of the pages stick together. And this album is about 4 years old!
I also used it on a mini chipboard album I did some years ago and about 6 months ago picked that book up to look at it. The pages in the back of the book were really stuck together and the photos were almost completely faded away. The last four pages in that book are a complete loss.
Maybe it was me or something I did wrong, but I am very leary of that stuff and would hate for anyone else to see their hard work be ruined by it.
I'm sure others have have better luck and will hopefully have some tips for you.
I've only used MP on the outside covers of my autograph books. But I've got be be honest, I usually don't decorat the pictures until I get home if at all. I like the have the characters sign the right side pages, because I use the left side for a photo of the kids with the character. But that gives me more flexibility for when we see "odd" characters that I wouldn't have thought to make a page for.
I did chipboard autograph books and did not use anything to protect the pages. They have held up just fine.
I used my cricut to make a picture of the characters on each page before hand & then they signed on their page. The characters really made a big deal out of seeing their pictures in the books. I got several hugs & high fives from the characters.
