As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I've had bangs my whole life. 44 years. Bangs. darnit, they are HOT in Florida, so after some discussion w/ my hairstylist, I decided to try growing them out. I have a big head. I mean, ginormous compared to others I'm photographed near and a round face. I've been clipping them across and tried pulling them back on top, but the rest of my hair (an inverted bob, of sorts) doesn't always cooperate and it looks blech. I'm starting a management job in 6 weeks and I don't want crummy looking hair, nor do I want to sweat like a piggy underneath the bangs.
Patience and maybe a headband. Can you brush them off to the side? Or how about a clip to hold them off to the side. I have just spent 6 months trying to let my hair grow to longer layers and it is just about there. I know it is frustrating but just try anything you can to get you through this growing process.
Maybe a headband. Not my favourite look, but it will keep them off your face while they grow out. I have worn one when my bangs were too long and I didn't have time or money to get them cut.
A hat? Well, that's what I was tempted to use.... Ok, seriously - patience and resolve. You have to make up your mind and not change it when they are driving you nuts and you're tempted to go to the hairdresser and have them hacked off again. And it's very tempting to do that!!
I just finished growing my bangs out to the point where I'm happy with them. It's taken 6-8 months to get to that point. I used clips and bobby pins. Usually I would pin them under the rest of my hair so you couldn't see that they were at that awkward stage but sometimes I just clipped them up on the top of my head with a cute barrette. I would also suggest headbands, but I get headaches from the pressure they put on my scalp so I didn't wear them except for brief periods of time.
I grown out bangs more often than I care to admit (I'm constantly doing the, "Oh you know what would be cute? BANGS!" thing and then not maintaining them after I have them cut once). My hair grows fast, but that in-between stage is still irritating.
I'm a big fan of those stretchy headbands - the kind that go all the way around your head. You can get them in various widths and colors - sometimes I'll use a really skinny brown one when I don't want it to stand out - it just kind of blends in. I also use my sunglasses as a headband and I'm a big fan of little tortiseshell clips - they also kind of blend in. My bangs are finally the length that they can tuck behind my ears - I just use the clips when I'm sporting a ponytail.

I'm kind of like Scarlett, in that my bangs grow out quickly. But to make them look nice, I'd second the suggestions of a nice looking headband. Unless that gives you a headache like it does me.
What I do is re-train them after washing my hair. When my hair is wet, I brush them off to the side, then put a little gel in them. Mousse works too. Then blow dry them, using a brush, exactly how you want them to lay - off to the side. Then I have to continue using a curling iron to straighten them to the side (the irony, I know) since I have naturally wavy hair. And top it off with a little hairspray. But it works. They stay in the right place for most of the day. I usually do this when I can pull them down long enough so they cover my eyes, then I know it's time to part them!!!
