As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I knew that Ben was not dead-in-the-road because the Lost Untangled (or whatever it's called) webcast had a picture of him in the bed with the medical leads on his chest.
But... wowzers! The implications that SAYID is actually responsible for making Ben an Other. That blew my stinkin' mind. And... it also makes me think that Adult Ben had to drive Sayid to the level where he could do it. (It also makes me pretty darned sure that Adult Ben was responsible for Ilana going all bounty-hunty on Sayid to get him on that plane.
I have to say that I'm totally relieved that Sawyer seems committed to Juliet and that he said he did a lot of growing up in the three years that had passed. Yay!!
Also, I'm so pleased that the reason Kate went back to the island is so she can bring Claire back to Aaron. (Although, I'm more convinced than before that Mrs. Littleton was on flight 316!) I just don't think I could've handled much more of the "love quandrangle."

My immediate thought was that this was the reason Ben had to get everyone to the island...not necessarily to save the ones left behind (unless Ben is the cause of that later on), but to make sure that Ben's past happened the way it was supposed to...if Sayid didn't shoot him, he wouldn't have been helped by the Others, he wouldn't have turned into the person he became, etc. I know that you aren't supposed to be able to change the past, but maybe there's some danger of major catastrophe if things DON'T happen the way they are supposed to. Anyway, I just left the episode feeling that this was Ben's true motivation.
I teared up when Kate left Aaron. So glad to find out she didn't do anything crazy -- I was really afraid that she did.
Really liked this ep, though! I'll probably watch it again today sometime.
The one thing that irked me on this episode was Cassidy. Her words and actions just didn't seem right to me, can't put a finger on it. I totally disagree that Sawyer broke Kate's heart, I think Kate broke Sawyer's heart.
Interesting that Ben was not born special or chosen, but became an Other because of the Losties' actions! But, if what Richard said is true and Ben won't remember any of that, he wouldn't know that he had to return the Losties to the island in order for him to become who he was. I guess we could go on and on about this just like Miles and Hurley - wasn't that great comic relief? "Ask me some more about time travel".
And I have to say that they were nicer people than me, I don't know that I could have helped Ben in that situation.

Just because he doesn't remember that it happened, doesn't mean that he doesn't KNOW that it happened. I mean, for example, when I was 2 years old I fell down a spiral staircase and nearly died. I don't remember it, of course, but my parents have told me the story and I know that it happened. At some point, it makes sense (to me at least) that Ben would know what happened to him.
I thought the episode was pretty decent, the last 15 minutes or so especially. Sayid is not the only one responsible for making Ben who he is, but so are Kate and Sawyer for saying yes to Richard after he asked them "Are you sure?". Jack is also partially responsible for refusing to operate on him. So yes Sayid pulled the trigger and caused this to happen, but Kate and Sawyer sealed the deal in my opinion.
Did you hear them mention Charles and Ellie being on the island? Does anyone know where Daniel is?
I have been wondering what happened to Daniel all season long. Poor guy.....
as for Ben, I kind of fealt bad for the little kid. No wonder he grew up being a bad guy, he certainly didn't get dealt a good hand.
I think Ben wanted the Oceanic 6 to return because that was his ticket back to the island more than he knew he would be shot by Sayid and turned over to the Others.
Sayid is done. what's left for him? he has nothing to go back to off-island. he can't fit in with either group on-island. he's stuck. he's either going to be killed or become the new (original) Danielle Rousseau - forced to live isolated in the woods.
Ben might not remember being shot by Sayid, but he will definitely hear stories about being shot and nearly killed by a Hostile.
so did we finally get a glimpse of the Temple?
And Richard could have filled Ben in on what happened. After all they were close with the whole killing all the Dharma people thing.
I like that Sawyer isn't going to just dump Juliette for Kate, but what did he really expect Jack to say. What would any of them expect Jack to say. He already was willing to risk Ben's life once before. No surprise there.
Cassidy I think was right...Sawyer was a chicken three years ago and was scared.
I just read another theory that I liked -- that Ben used Sayid as his hit man because he knew that he couldn't be killed (since he knew he had to go back in time and shoot him as a child), making him the ultimate weapon.
Also, if he somehow found out the story of the Losties as a child, it would make sense that he may have been tracking them for a very long time -- not just after the plane crash, but for years beforehand, so he could learn as much as possible about them.
There was a lot that I didn't get. Like the whole thing with Cassidy, it was so far off from what I expected her to say and do. And what is up with Jack? It's like he's a completely different person, actually he sounded a whole lot like Locke in this episode.
Of course Ben will have to be brought back to the DI, because he's still with them for the Purge. I wonder how many other times between now and then that he and Richard might have some little strategy meetings?
I loved Hurley and Miles in this episode, they had me rolling on the floor! And, Hurley got him there that one time, didn't he? Loved it all. Loved how quick they left when Juliet asked for some privacy with Jack.
I'm so ready for the '70s to be over, though!!!
Next week should be good ... Ben goes in for judgment ... I wonder by whom?

So . . . maybe Charles Widmore & Ellie think they've worked themselves into second-and-third-in-command behind Richard. Only, when Richard "heals" Ben, Ben comes back as a somewhat glorified Hostile. Does the rift between Widmore & Ben start because of Ben's chosen status (keeping in mind that Widmore has been there for a little over two decades at this point)? If Ben or Richard then has Widmore exiled because he acts out on his anger over that--that would/could explain a few things.
(Hope that made some bit of sense. It does in my head. )
