As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

As most of you long timers know I am an Avid Ebay seller.. for the most part I love it & most of the people are VERY nice..
well, I set up another another account in Jim's name for Jamie to learn the ins & outs of selling.
his GF mom asked if we would sell some of hers & her moms stuff for her.. usually I don't like to sell for others as it can cause a hassle but being I was good friends with GF mom I agreed..I sold most of her stuff on Jims account to build up his feedback etc
Well, a guy bid on one of GF moms items & from the minute the auction ended he was trouble,.. kept sending me messages after the first day as to when I was shipping. He waited 3 days & then filed a pay pal claim against me..
The claim was cancelled.. now here's the trouble.,. he has been e-mailing , calling our house etc.. saying he didn't get the item. (he did)
Tonight he called our home while Jim nor I were home & Jamie answered & the person told him a huge story of how he wanted his item, he didn't want a refund.. he wanted the item & then he threatened if he didn't get it he was going to drive to PA to get it.. he didn't care if he spent 27,000 dollars.. he was coming here..
Okay. obviously he's a bit looney as the item was $10.50 & I don't have it.. it was sent.
Jamie was upset & called me & I immediately fired off a no contacte-mail letter to the man telling him to NEVER call, e-mail or write us or we would file harassment charges..
Then, I came home & checked my phone messages & he left a message about an hour earlier asking for a return call & then added a few (minor) profanities..
it's obvious to me this man is not playing with a full deck & I'm not sure what to do.. I want to file a police report but Jim told me to let it go & NEVER to sell for anyone again ( that isn;t the problem!!! so I'm also mad at Jim)
I feel very unsafe & immediately cancelled Jims account with Ebay .. what do you guys think? Was the No contact letter enough? should I wait & see if he leaves it alone & then if he reacts again to contact the police..
Jamie was visibly shaken & said he felt it wasn't idle threats.. the guy seemed insane.. Firt off, Jamie clearly identified himself as our son & indicated he knew nothing of the transaction so why did the man keep going on & on for at least 10 minutes??? furthermore, what type of person threatens a minor??
I'm also pretty shaken about this.. one for the guy calling here, 2 for Jims attitude.. we've been going through a lot in our relationship recently & stuff like this makes me sooo angry!!
i know you really dont want to but you really need to contact your local police department and file a report just in case something happens. did you do sig required?? if you did that make sure you show that to the police and I would also contact ebay and let them know about this guy so no has to go through what your family is going through my hubby sell on ebay as well and we've had to contact our local police for something and they took it very serious. Good luck to you
I am so sorry this happened to you. You did the right thing by canceling the account. I can't believe the guy had the nerve to call you guys and harass you like that. I would definitely contact ebay and let them know all of this. I'm hoping that the fact that you closed your account abd wrote the email will be enough for him to back off. If he does call back again tell him that you have already contacted the authorities . I would then file a complaint w/ the police. There is absolutely no reason why you and your family should have to put up w/ this jerk.
Was he a new buyer? What did his feedback look like?

Yes, I agree. Do you have any reciepts from the shipping? Do you have a tracking number? I would call the police and contact ebay and show them you sent the item. What is his feedback? I am so sorry you are going through this.
When you sent the item(s) to him did you do it registered mail? That would prove he received the package.
I would call your local police and tell them what's going on and ask their advise as to what you should do. If there is a crime being committed here, they would be able to tell you where the jurisdiction is, where you are or where the caller is.

It might not be a bad idea to contact the police. It is helpful if you have phone message that the guy left as well as documentation of when he called and the types of harrassment. If he actually threatened you and your family, you can file charges against him. That is too bad that this guy had to ruin everything.

People are incredible. First of all, if indeed I didn't receive a package that I purchased on Ebay I would first KINDLY contact the seller. If I did not have a response from the seller I would try again...via email or Ebay communications (I would never call the sellers home). If I still heard nothing, I would go through the proper channels that Ebay has for settling complaints. Honestly over $10.50? Why would I threaten someone for $10.50 (not that I would do it at all)?
Hmmm....adds up to someone forgot to take his meds
Long...short Yes call the police and follow up with the channels at Ebay to see if anything can be done and or if this has been a problem in the past. Maybe they know this guy and he is full of empty threats.
I agree with everyone else, I would call the police. This guy doesn't sound like he is playing with a full deck and therefore you can not predict what he may or may not do. I am sorry that you all have had this bad experience.
