As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I spent mine washing the wood floors, then baking spritz cookies, andes mint cookies and molasses cookies. Next up is carpool duty, coloring my hair, making dinner, helping with homework, and maybe one more type of cookies - my favs - cherry almond shortbread.
I'm having a party here Friday night and am trying to get ahead a little.
I spent mine studying, taking finals, talking to teachers about finals, talking to fellow students about finals and shuttling kids to and from school. Now, it's off to work.

You're making me tired. I spent the day laying around fighting a cold that started when we got back from Disney this past Sunday.
Runing after a now 17mo. while she was getting into EVERYTHING you could
imagine. Also washing several loads of clothes and picking up the downstairs.
Now that DD is down for her nap (which started 30 min. ago but she finally
fell asleep) I need to take her indoor climbing slide apart because this am
she decided that she needed to "paint" it with the milk from her sippy cup.
First I stripped the bed, Remade it, Did 4 loads of laundry, Colored my hair, took Haley to the park, stopped by the "Extreme Makeover" site to have a look, didn't see much from my vantage point..
Came home folded more laundry, had lunch, cleaned the house a little, Checked all my packed stuff for Friday's trip.. Played on the computer....
ate good & plenty's..
Put together some fudge containers for gifts, working, doing some errands and socializing around lunch, back to work for the afternoon. I'm heading out of the office in a few minutes and home to make dinner, maybe do up a few bills and relax with DD, who is home from school. I also need to talk to my sister and brother in law. And get a load of laundry and dishes done.
Diane

Took DDs to their last School of the Arts lessons for the year and watched the teen ballroom dance class do a little presentation (they learned a lot in 9 weeks!)
Ran a bajillion errands, got all the Christmas cards stamped and mailed, and knitted about 5 rows on my Dad's sock. Did some book work (ick).
Spent too much time on Facebook and Passporter.
Signed DDs up for Disney's Homeschool Days!
Did a little school work and am now getting ready to go to Toastmaster's tonight (where I am either Grammarian or an Evaluator, won't know until I get there). After I get home, hubby and I are starting season 4 of Lost.

At work trying to keep busy. Its a slow time of year for us with the Holidays right around the corner. In fact I'm still at work right now and should be finishing up somethings, but instead I'm checking the PP boards.
I dropped the girls off at daycare this morning then headed to work. During my lunch hour I did a little Christmas shopping for the girls and now I'm back at work.
It's DH's night to pick up the girls so I will be stopping at the grocery store for a few basics before heading home to help with homework, make dinner, do dishes, put everyone to bed and get ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Dropped 2 kids off to school, waited for the younger one's bus. Got on here trying to scam a discount on vacation (to no avail...oh well. ) Then it was housework time. yuck... DD7 had a half day today so I waited until she came home and took her with me to get some shopping done for my DD17th birthday tomorrow. Picked up other two and came home, zonked out for about 20 minutes and cooked dinner (leftover buffet night), Now I am goofing off on here for a little while dinner digests. lol... Still have laundry and other Mom stuff to do tonight.
mine was spent doing laundry, hanging more garland, making chocolate chews and carmels, and then crabcakes for dinner. Now drinking a beer! Pretty uneventful.
I have a ton of work this week (yay!) so I am doing my usual work-sleep-work-sleep thing. Got up at 4:30 am after a whopping five hours of sleep. My day since then, in no particular order:
Finished, returned, and invoiced project #1
Started project #2
Finished and returned project #3
Downloaded and started project #4
Snuck in two catnaps (30 & 45 minutes)
Made a delish taco salad for lunch
Chatted with DH before he went to work
Went to get the mail, hoping that a late paycheck would finally appear (nope )
Grumbled about that for a minute -- don't these people know I have bills to pay??
Made a few cookies (premade dough, love that stuff!) to tuck in DH's lunchbox
Checked the boards a couple times
Giving myself an hour to watch TV later, but otherwise, I'll be working until midnight or so, and doing it all again tomorrow, except that I might get to sleep in a little bit later.
Filled the back seat of my car with coats we don't wear often. Drove to new house. Unloaded coats and put in new coat closet. Worked on putting liner in drawers and shelfs of kitchen & baths until I ran out of the liner (6 rolls).
I was waiting for Lowe's delivery to arrive with my new refrigerator. I love when they say between 8 & 12. B/C I just don't know how long I have to wait. So I unpacked 2 boxes. Nothing else to do so I, checked e-mail & facebook on my blackberry. Bored again, waiting. Watched last weeks episode of Desperate Housewives on my BB. Okay, still no delivery. Hmm, check mail, the garbage bill came, it is due tomorrow. Finially, they called at 10:15'ish, they will be there in about 15 minutes. Yippee, now what to do for 15 minutes. Text, DH & surf net on BB.
Frig in, & working. Back to apartment for lunch with DH. Repack boxes. Pay bills online. Spend too much time surfing net & PP. Vaccume apartment, make DS's bed & notice he did not put his laundry away from Monday.
DS home from school. Boxes in car. Pick up Disney Cruise print "Snow White in Starlight" from frame shop. (It is gorgeous!) Go back to new house. Check on frig, it has ice and diet coke is cold. Unpack 2 boxes and leave.
Back to apt. Make spaghetti for dinner. Eat. Repack boxes and sit on couch. Now surfing net and wondering about the dishes.....
Location: Cypress....Deep in Southern Illinois, close enough to see the Kentucky blue grass

Got up after sleeping 11 hours and got ready for work. Made breakfast for Kevin and myself. Drove 25 miles to take Kevin to Cardiac Rehab and waited an hour for him to be done amusing myself reading about our corrupt Governor and laughing all the way because I knew he was bad. Drove Kevin home then turned around and drove the 21 miles to work. Put in an full day there. Then I went down to a local college to check out local vendors set up for holiday programs there. Bought some home made apple butter a cookbook and an eyeglass chain for my reading glasses (made by my best friend who makes jewelry). Then I came home made Pork chops, mashed potatoes and peas for dinner. Did the dishes and logged on here.
