As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I don't mean to hash and rehash this, but I feel like something is missing or wrong in my ADR's.
Chef Mickey's for a breakfast and a dinner, and that's fine.
Whispering Canyon for a dinner, because we're staying at WL.
Breakfast at Boma - which I'm excited about.
Lunch at Chefs de France - I'm ambivalent about this. Part of me feels like I should do counter service in France, and do a TS somewhere else instead. I LOVE France in real life, lol... but can I get some opinions on this restaurant from you all?
Lunch at Tony's Town Square - I'm not sold on this either. I'm considering giving it up, but on the other hand... it's got some inexpensive stuff that would be tasty and be a nice break. But I'm just not SOLD.
Dinner at Rose and Crown - I ate here in 06 and loved loved loved loved it. Really loved it. So I'm inclined to go back to get the potato and leek soup and a samosa.
Breakfast at Ohana - I'm ok with this.
Dinner at California Grill - HELLO I'm excited! LOL!
Breakfast at Crystal Palace - I've heard rave reviews, so I'm good with this, too.
Breakfast at Cape May Cafe - Definitely good with this!
So I guess my trouble spots are Rose and Crown, Tony's and Chefs de France. It will be me, DMom and DD who turns 3 on the trip.
Can you convince me one way or another on those three? Part of me wants to eat at Coral Reef, Garden Grill or Teppan Edo... but... I just don't KNOW! LOL! Sorry to be a pest. But this is really very vexing!

Not that I can give you any advice on your ifies, but (if you don't mind), I'll share my own w/3 kids. Akeshus-B, then Garden Grill-D, next day Crystal Palace-L (was B, but changed to L), Chef Mickey's-B, CRT-D (I can't believe no Princess at Dinner, wished I knew that at the time, now hoping for a canc for lunch).
I was between Garden Grill and Coral Reef, I just went w/ character for kids DD8, DD6, DS2. I wish, I wish the T-Rex was on dinning plan! We just might have to bite the bullet and go anyway. I'm not sure which QS to try. Any ideas?
Best of luck! (I'm sure it will all be great!)
Rose & Crown - Ate there, loved it go back unless you want to try something different.
Tony's - you are not sold. Have eaten here, food just ok.....it is a good break while at MK to sit down...we enjoy the Plaza better, but that is just us.....
Chefs de France - You are iffy about this one......the food is great, a welcome break to sit down and I love the French onion soup....
The ones you are wondering about:
Coral Reef - We ate there, food just ok the service was awful.....kids liked watching the fish
Garden Grill - We ate there, the food was good the characters were funny enjoyed this one
Teppan Edo - We love japanese steakhouse.....the rice and noodles and meat grilled right in front of you....the kids would love it.
We enjoyed Chef de France but my girls are older...we love the Garden Grill, the food was good and the character interaction was amazing. With a 3 yo my choice would probably be the Garden Grill.
We also had a great meal at the Coral Reef, food was really good, service so-so but the fish is a seller (espeically if you can get close to the tank).
Out of all three I would probably still choose the Garden Grill with a 3 yo and it is fun for adults as well so I think you will all have a great time.
Rose & Crown is a favorite. If it was me I would keep that one but if you want to try something different Teppan Edo sounds like it would great fun for all (that one is definitely on my list).
Tony's I have not been too, have heard mixed reviews, the menu looks ok and for a nice break I am sure that it will be fine, if I was going to make a change you could always check out some of the monorail resorts and see if something catchs your eye, plus get to check out on of the other resorts. Maybe O'Hana's or Kona Cafe for dinner or what about 1900 Park Fare? If you wanted to stay at the MK as others have said...the Plaza is a great place to relax, the food is good and they have great desserts.
I totally know how you feel! It's so tough to make these decisions, and with all of the advance planning, there's too much time to second (third, fourth, and fifth) guess yourself! Anyway, I ate at Chefs de France this past Feb. for dinner, and thought that it was pretty good. I'm not sure that I would rush back there, though, and I'm thinking that the Garden Grill might be a better choice, especially with a 3 year old. I sort of felt the same about Tony's Town Square. It was pretty good but not great. In terms of MK, since you're already going to Crystal Palace (yum), I would suggest either the Plaza or Columbia Harbor House. They have great sandwiches at the Columbia Harbor House, and they have multiple seating areas (upstairs and down). Can't help you with Rose and Crown. Sounds like a fun place, but I've never been. You could always try for an ADR at Le Cellier - it's tough to get, but worth a shot. Hope you have a wonderful trip!!
Thanks everyone. I think that's exactly it - it's so far out that you have to book, that as the months go on, it's so easy to say, "Wait, was that a bad idea?"
I guess I'll pow-wow with mom and see what she thinks. It's just so hard to decide! The problem is I want to eat at ALL of these places, lol! Argh.

Of the one's you are questioning...we had dinner at Tony's and it was very good & very large portions. But I have to say that Garden Grill is one of our favorites!!! The food is great, kids get to decorate their own cupcakes for desert, and the characters have come around alot the 2 times we have been there.
BTW, your choices look very good so far, looks like you are going to have a very good time eating on your trip.
