As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Ok Hi everyone. Now I have the time to report my trip.
10/20- Train then to our hotel Holiday Inn on Walnet St.
Got up at 5:00 to get ready for a 7:15 pick up by Cloud 9. Got everything out the door and wait in my ally so the van could drop their lift. The van came about 7:15 right on the dot just about. There was another person on board getting to the airport then we pick up another person. They drop me off at the San Diego Santa Fe train station about close to 7:30. Then went in the station to wait for my mother and stepfather. Also wait for our 9:30 train. While I waited I Got all of our tickets and check-in my suit case a lady they help those need help came over and assisst me. So I can go grab some breaksfest at a news stand booth. After that I waited for my mother and step-father they came about 9:00. At 9:20 or so they lead us to the train car that we be traveling in. The put out a ramp for me to get in and found a chair parking place while my folks got there seat. It was a smooth ride up it took about an hour and a half to get up to the Anaheim Station which is on the same lot as the Angle's staduim. By the was while we were in SD station the lady call up to make sure we had a ride to the resort. So when we got the it was about 11:28-30 and we rush down ramps (yes two ramps the train and the station ramps) to get to the ART bus in which it was there so we had to get tickets but the darn machin couldn't work right it was speaking spanish, so we told the driver and she was nice enought to let us ride to the resort (if any of you ride this to the resort from the train staion be expected to ride it's rout to stop at other loction before it gets to the resort or Take a taxi, I was trying to tell my mother that but she want to pay a $4 fee instead) we got to the bus drop off at the resort it was about 12:00pm. We wal clear across the plaza to the shuttle that takes you to Mickeys and friends parking Gauage. Then we walk on a side wal on walnut st. towards Ball Rd (for me I got to drive my chair) The hotel was right behind the parking Structure so It wasn't that long of a walk but they at less put a opening from that point. Anyways We got to the hotel finding they were under consturtion so we had to go all thje way to the back almost to get the regerture office and they didn't even have a ramp. So my mother check us in. Everthing was going smoothy until my room wasn't ready. So I had to put all my stuff in my folks room 4104, then off to DCA.
My folk decided to take a shuttle from the Inn, so I waited with them but then I realize I forgot my camera in my suit case. So I told them I'll meet you there if I'm not back when it get here. So I got it and went back to were they where seating and it seemed they had left. So I roll down Walnut street to Disneyland Hotel and cut through the hotel and through Downtown Disney to get to the plaza. It took me about 15-20 min maybe, since I can go pretty fast in my chair. Then when I got there I had to pick up a gift card so I didn't have to carry a lot of money around with me and didn't worry about change. I find out that all there ticket booths are not open only the west side of the plaza. I found my folk by the A in CA.A and we went in DCA. The fist thing we did is (and it was about 1:40pm I think) Soarin' Over California. It still amazes me how fun it is to just stand and sit with no problem and how your eye can trick think your foot will hit something or get wet. Get in to my chair was a bit hard but we had someone from a group that was coming in help out (who ever you are Thank You). Then we went over to Hollywood Picture Back lot, They we on Tower of Terror™, I went in Disney Animation, only a few thing were new in there but not much, so I came out and thought I take pictures of the street and stuff while I waited for them. I took pictures of the hunted hotel then they came out. We went to see the Muppet, Bug's Life, then a Pixer Play Parade. We went through Grand California Hotel to get to Paradise Pier Hotel to have dinner at Yamabuki (Japanese restaurant). When I got our table I went to the restroom and after that I sneak out to the lobby to pick up my mother surprise gift basket. I ask everyone and was there yet but when I ask again at the front desk a guy who look like a waiter came with it. I told him to follow me to the restaurant around the corner. I approach my table with my folk and and him put the gift next to my mother and surprise her big time. This was for her retirement she retire back in June, so I thought it would be nice. After that dinner was very good I love Japanese food. After dinner we head back to the hotel. We went through Disneyland hotel to get to Walnut St. and had a nice walk and for me roll back to the hotel. It fun to go in when you show up on the first day and take it easy.
Great update! Sounds like you had another wonderful day! How nice that you surprised your mom! I bet she that. Looking forward to more
Yeah she was surprise, it almost didn't happen because Holiday Inn almost screwed thing up for us. One not knowing that I could not cancel there advance price reservation when I did it in June when I decided to go for a deal at Paradise Pier Hotel and got the basket which would have been delivered to our room. But when I went to cancel at Holiday Inn they said "we can't do that at the advance price you can cancel but still would have to pay". Any ways I call around to see if I could just could pick it up at the PPH lobby and I could. I was trying not to tell my mother why I want to eat at the resturant. She is hard to surprise and I pulled it off.
The second thing was they didn't tell me they would be underconstruction and at there check-in office trailer didn't have a ramp. So, my mother had to go back and forth with the payment. Other then that it was fine. I will find deal before I go there again.
well I was up about 7:00 and got ready. I always get shower and dress before I eat breakfest so I would have my braces on my foot. I call my mother room to see how things are and they brought their little breaksfast from the Inn tent thing. I was going to eat in the downtown Disney area but I decide to try ou the stuff and I wasn't to impress. After that we were ready to head off down Wallnut st. to DLH to get to the monorail. When we got there we found out that the Monorail wasn't running yet and they didn't when it would be so, we heck down through DTD to the front enternce. It was fine since my mother had a new camera and she love to take picture as I do. So we got in and I went to city hall to get the pass but they said my wheelchair was good enough so I don't need it. Then I meat up with my folks at the center pise where a big Mickey pumken was. We decide to go our ways and meet them later. I went off to use the restroom before I did any thing. The head toward Toontown I went to visit Mickey's house and I see how different it was from his house in FL a bit biger in on way but smalle in another, the garden wasn't really outside and it was more like a barn then a tent like at WDW. Then I check out goofy out I didn't how I could get in becouse the front door was fake. I went of to gag shop. I look at the time it was about 12 I decided to go into the future through the castle just for the fun of and I got to see the The House of tomorrow (warning: use the restroom before go in there is no bathroom. Yes I know.) I was there maybe 30 mins before I had to head to the restroom. I didn't want to go through all that begining stuff again, so I head over to 50 years of Disney in Main St. I like the one at Holiwood Studios better because they geve you more time to look at the picture and models. This was in were Abe Lincon used to be and how I wish they keep him maybe he is still behind the curtians and they are do some repairing who knows. I check the time again and it was about 2, I thought I start heading back to meet my mother and step-dad over by the Jungle Cruise. I got there and wait and kept my eyes out for them, then I saw them walk by me I thought it wasn't that time for them to look for me yet so I kinda follow them and said "hello" My mother mention we better get to the Blue Bayue for a late lunch amd that was a nice break from the weather and day time lol. I had the famus Monty Crestle(sp) forgot what they had but mine was so good I wish I could eat it all. After dinner what I would call it, we went shopping and rode the Jungle Crusie. I wanted to ride mark tween but it wasn't running so we took a train to Toontown, my mother want to take picture ther and I want to show her the shop, yes I brought pins and other stuff they even had a Mickey head mouse pad, which i'm using now. When we got out of there a parade was starting and we stayed for that, I'm not big on prade like my mother is but it was ok to me I rather see it more in day light since the sun had gone down during our shopping in Toontown. Anyway when that was done we head to Tomorrow land to take the monorail in which thwy were running the new one. I'm telling you it a wow, but it needs to be taller like WDW and more room I still have to back in but not knowing that I went in forward and could not turn around. But it was fun seeing the inside all lite up. My mother wanted to shop in Main St so we did a round trip. Then we went to Main St to shop and of course I brought more stuff lol I love the hat I got. It look like a early 50's striped hat. Then the park started to close and we left to go to Downtown Disney to look at Dept. 56. Then walk back to the Inn.
Next Downtown Disney, Rainforest cafe and the hotels. Then back on Amtrack to home.
I again got up about half an hour later then i did the morning before and Got al ready I was again going to go off to breakfast to DTD but I thought I better pack up first then go eat. By the time I was pack up there was no time to go and come back to get my folk for DTD. So I ate the low rate motel food again. Not long after that my folks were pretty much ready and my mother had to see were we can put our stuff while we went shopping. So we put our stuff in the office trailer and head off to DTD. I wanted to look at their lego store so my folk went off on the own. I looked around in the lego store but I wasn't to impress with it. Again the one at WDW DTD was a bit bigger then ours, not to many models put together. Then I went to look at the monorail station to see if there was any of the old structure left over from the late 60's set up I couldn't really see well since there was fences around it. I was next to a small booth of trading pins store, so I looked around that I saw something and waited for the clerk to help me out but I felt she ignore me, so I went to see if I can meet up with my mother at the the World of Disney store, I couldn't see them so I poked around and I found a frame that was great for my EPCOT picture at home, it look futurerstic, silver with Mickey's head sysmble on the corners. Then I wanted to get pinceals for my class so I ask around, while I was going the right direction I saw my folks and continue shopping. I found the pinceals but not really what I was looking for but I brought some for the girls. I finger I'll go to GCH later to see of they had any for the boys. I got some more pins (yeah I know I went pin crazy but they are very well made of mickey doing a Jedi act and a Indy act as you can tell I'm a Mickey fan) By that time it was time to pay up and head for the Rainforest Cafe. We were seated by one of the aquium it was wonderful my mother got her camera out and went crazy lol. Boy I need to write want we have for the meal but I don't think it that important,, any ways it was good. After we finsh my mother wanted to shop there and I wanted to go to GCH to check out their shop. So I went off and found the shop . I also found the boys pinceals I was looking for. Then went to the lobby and say my good bye. Then went back to meet up my folks and went over to DLH to look at the history stuff and a shop. Not before long we had to head back to our hotle to catch out taxi to the train station. We all got on broad ok and home safe.
Until my next Disney Vacaction. I hope you enjoy this report.
Great updates and finish to your report!! Sounds you had a wonderful last couple of days. I know what you mean about the pins - once you start buying them, it's hard to stop! for sharing your TR with us! I have enjoyed reading it
Thank you for reading and that goes for everyone, I may go back up to Downtown Disney when a cousin of mine from San Francisco visit DL with her kids, but the thing is she going to be there during Christmas day and two or three day after that so it maybe be a little tricky.
