As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Hi,
I would love to know what you all have thought of this experience. I am taking my 4 yr old niece and she will have a great time but I want to make sure it is worth the time. I have reserved the crown package(at the castle) and she can wear her own gown. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
I took my 10yr. old in February. She loved the pampering, the makeup; and yes, her hair stayed in place for several days. She opted for a "fall", her fairy godmother added long hair extensions, attached to the back of her bun, so we could take it off and on. They use huge amounts of gel, hairspray, and glitter. She won't be able to see how she looks until the very end--they will swing her around and let her look in the mirror. Be ready with your camera! There should be a photopass photographer there, as well. Definitely give him your card; we got some great shots (but I'm glad that I took pix, as well)
One thing to note, the fairy godmothers will comb/pull/tug on the hair alot, and the buns they put up are very tight (which is why the hairstyles stay in place for days). Be sure you get out any tangles before arriving. The fairy godmothers are really nice and they explain everything, but I did see some of the younger girls in tears over the hair combing. I think they just weren't expecting their hair to be tugged so hard. Of course, it was all ok in the end; the assistants came over with books and hugs, so the tears quickly disappeared.
Just thought you might like a heads up(no pun intended!), so you/your niece can be prepared. I'm sure she will love the entire experience--and she'll get special treatment from cast members/characters for the rest of her trip.
Enjoy!!
My nieces did the BBB in Sept. and it was a lot of fun. We got the castle package and they loved getting dressed up. My niece who was 4 at the time just wanted the Princess Aurora outfit and she wanted to leave. She didn't like getting her hair done but she did like picking out the make-up and nail polish. She has my "don't touch me, this is my space, that is your space" disease so that was the problem with the hair. My other niece who was 3 ate it up. She loved every minute of it from getting dressed to having her hair, nails and make-up done. She was the typical princess that day. Watching the video of them getting it done is hysterical. One girl is in her glory and the other just wants to get it over with.
All in all, they both had fun and we are going to do it again this year. (even the one who didn't want touched) She already has her outfit picked out. It is definitely worth the money no matter which package you pick out.
I had ordered the vacationing planning DVD and I was watching it this morning with my 7 year old daughter.
When it got to the section about the BBB, my daughter gasped and said "Mommy, could I do that someday when we go?" and I said "We'll see"
Little does she know we are going in October and I already booked her for the crown package at the BBB at the Castle and that we are having lunch afterwards at Cinderella's Royal Table!
I know she is going to love it. My mom jokes that my daughter was born with a "pink" gene.

Even my DD15 loved the BBB! It's lots of fun to be pampered and made to feel beautiful. And, you have the added bonus of seeing all the other little girls all sparkly and pretty. Go for it, she will love it!
We have done this for my DD the past two summers and I know it was absolutely worth the time and money. She basked in all the attention the CMs bestowed upon her and she truly felt like a princess for days afterwards. Both times we got her the crown package, but after she felt undressed the first time, we made sure she had a costume the next time (purchased ahead of time at Target at home to save some money).

Thank you all for your input. She does have gowns to wear she'll have to decide which princess she wants to be. I made the reservation for the day we do Cindrella's dinner at 1900 Park fare. Thought it would be fun to do.
we also made ressie at the BBB in the castle for the day we have dinner with the princess in Epcot. We got my DD4 the grown package and we will buy (actually grand-parents are) the costume. But we didn't want the photos "séance" so... I can'T wait, she doesn't know it yet but everytimes we see the dvd she tell us she want to be Ariel (even if her favorite one is Jasmine! )
This is most certainly worth it. Your little girl will enjoy all the attention and feel like a real-life princess! BBB has the potential to be one of the most memorable experiences for any little princess who ever visits WDW.

So worth it! We also did it the morning when we had dinner ressies at 1900 park fare for dinner with Cindy and the Prince. She was the princess for a day and loved every minute and bit of attention she got...check out the picture of her with this post.
We did this last year for my DD and she adored it. We are planning on doing it this year on her birthday and then having dinner with the princesses. She wants the whole package with a costume this time. Does anyone know the sizes they have at BBB for not so little girls?

I think they said a "runs small size 10 or 12" but if you need bigger to call ahead of time and let them know what you need.
