As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Some time ago I read a post where the person sprinkled "pixie dust" and left a gift for her child(ren) from Tinker Bell (a reward for good behavior I seem to remember).
How does one make Pixie Dust?
There are a couple of upcoming things I'm doing as we're getting ready for our trip that are a surprise for my family. Imagine what it would be like to have a little pixie dust scattered around the area where I'd leave the gifts!

That's what I've read people use - glitter. Myself, I wouldn't use it only because I would feel guilty about making the room a real mess for Mousekeeping. I know it's their job to clean up, but I was raised to not make more work for other people.
I had thought about glitter, but I too would be concerned about the amount of extra work that Mousekeeping would have to do. I fear that even if we use just a little bit, glitter is hard to clean up. I can think of more than one homemade craft project with glue and glitter that I found glitter in the carpet weeks afterward.
I like the idea of the body glitter. It's smaller and lighter and I would think easier to vacuum because it's not a bunch of rigid little pieces to pick up.
I'm now wondering if there might be another way to see pixie dust without sprinkling in all over. How else could I show it or represent it?
I don't know if you would want to reward them with money, but here's an idea. My daughter lost her first tooth while we were at Disney. That night Tinkerbell left her a $10 bill under her pillow with some pixie dust on it. I used a fine glitter that I use in my scrapbooking and only put it on the money so as not to make a mess everywhere. She was thrilled. Ten dollars was alot of money for the tooth fairy, but after all we were in WDW!
Body glitter is usually easier to clean up, but the loose glitter is more expensive. You could glue and sprinkle just a tiny bit (of any kind) of glitter on to a piece of cute stationary and leave the gift with a "note" from Tink. This is something you could do ahead and keep the glitter mess at home.

I was thinking this would be a good idea too. That way the note has the Pixie Dust and can be kept for a scrapbook if you are into that!!!

OH - just thought of something - put the glitter on your fingers and then press it onto the note where Tink would have been holding it - Like you are leaving Tink's fingerprints!!!! (Only someone who works for law enforcement would think of this!!!)

My wife used multi-colored glitter as proof that the tooth fairy had left money for our son. His response was to look at us and say "That proves that the tooth fairy is real!"
I think that the same stuff would work well for Tink.
I don't know if this would help but in the movie Tink gets her little rump stuck in a box with a key hole. You could find a small box at hobby lobby or make a cardboard box really cute and cut out a whole and then leave the dust and present in the box, along with a spool of thread etc like in the movie.
You could also use sparkle confetti. They have some at art supply stores and most major arts and crafts stores.
