As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

After reading all the info on Crocs, I got 4 pairs for my kids (the local Stride Rite was having a buy one get one half off sale...). I figured they would be great even after the Disney trip because we go to the beach a lot in the Summertime.
So, they have been wearing them this week to break them in -- and has anyone else had this problem? 2 out of 4 of them fell twice the first day wearing them..... They were both running. I told them not to run wearing them from now on -- but instinct is telling me when my son sees that life size Winnie the Pooh at the Crystal Palace waiting to meet him, walking isn't going to stand a chance!
Just curious.... I got myself a pair too and they are extremely comfortable. Then again, you won't catch me running often !
Yep. They're just slightly large for my DD4. She's fallen in them a couple times while running. So our new rule is - no running in those shoes! Maybe if they fit her better, she wouldn't fall. I'll find out as her feet grow, I suppose!

Do you have the back strap on their heel or rotated up over the arch? When they fit well and the strap is over the heel, I think they stay on pretty well.
It might just be the "get used to them" factor. They're so lightweight and comfy that they almost feel like you're not wearing anything at all. Maybe that's a little confusing to them and they have to adjust...
My DS5 wore his all last summer and didn't fall. I agree with Eileen - make sure the back strap is in position. Give them some time to get used to them - I'm sure they'll do fine.
my ds8 got them on the cruise last year as did me ,dw. know no more wet feet after it rains and on water rides. the most comfy shoes we have ever worn no more sneakers on vacation for us also dw wears hers with the strap in the front ,me and ds wear ares with the strap on our heals so they don,t fall off:ears :: news:: luck:: pixie:

Hmm... never thought about this. I don't think my kids fall anymore with crocs than they do with any other shoes. But my kids wear the strap on the back of their heels. I wear mine over the top. Good luck.
Yep -- they wear the straps over the heel in the back. Maybe they are too big or just take getting used to. It just made me nervous when they both fell the first day wearing them.... After spending the $$ they will be wearing them all Summer... hopefully it just takes getting used to.
DD9 got her first pair a year and a half ago and LOVES them. Runs, walk, wades, you name it, in them and has had no problems. She got a new pair yesterday and these are a bit roomier. She's been wearing them all over and hasn't had any problems..... yet. I do think they take a little getting used to, though, if you've never worn them before.
My son isn't a fan of crocs but I love them! My little cousin also likes them. He doesn't have any trouble walking/running in them. And, if there were a kid to have trouble with them, it would be this one!! Maybe they just feel different too you kids and it will take some getting used to..... Good Luck!
My son is 21 months and has a pair that is a little large and has no problems running in them. I will admit he feel a little in the begining but now he has it down. My mom actually just found a smaller pair for him so we will see if it makes a difference. The girls at his day care said they use to trip in theirs when they first got them. I don't have a pair but my older DD's 9 & 7 do and they had to get use to them.
I dont have kids but i do work at a daycare. I dont really notice the kid falling that much but the yonger ones never want to keep the crocs on. they are always taking them off. Also just this week ive noticed the kids wearing the cutest croc look alikes. They are lightning McQueen. They also look like they would stay on better. I dont have any kids but their so cute that i want to buy some.
Both ofmy kids wear them and haven't had any problems.
But, I have a pair of regular crocs and a pair of mickey crocs and I tripped several times (walking) in the mickey crocs, but not the regular ones. The mickey crocs are much longer in the front and more loose on me. I think that is why I tripped so much.
Your kids probably need to grow into them a little.
My kids and ME trip in crocs!! (And I'm a dance teacher so my feet are used too walking in everything). So I nixed them for the trip and got them all birkenstocks for the long walks. I've seen kids trip in them on carpet a lot, especially at preschool.
All depends on how they walk I think. For example if you walk in a birkenstock like it's going to fall off, it doesn't work, but if you relax your foot and walk normal, it does.
Make sense? If the shoe is too a bit large the kids will put their foot down like normal just to have an extra 1/2 inch of rubber trip them up.
I have triped several times in my Crocks! Once at work with a plate of food! It was not pretty and 2 of the people in the dinning room were laughing really hard at me! To be honest so was I! But ya I find I trip and so do my kids!
