As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We will be at WDW in November and I have a 3 year old that weighs in around 35 lbs ( i know he's big boy!). We are looking for a stroller for him that has plenty of storage space, cup holders for us and him, reclining seat and is light weight. Does anyone have any suggestions? We will be flying down to Orlando, so I'm thinking lightweight and compact.
We used a stroller the last 2 years and will be using the same this year. We didn't use the small compact style stroller (umbrella type). We used the more sturdy type which was great for our grand daughter resting in the parks, bit also great for storage. The only trouble was folding it and carrying on the buses, but that wasn't really a problem.
I'd am interested in reading the responses to this post. I am also looking for a new stroller. I can't wait to get rid of my double stroller for a single one!
When we went in 2006 we had planned on renting a stroller but there were these great unbrella type strollers for sale at the rental kiosk ( EPCOT). They were around 45 to 50 which beat the 10 bucks a day rental for 7 days. It had a basket fo storage, a cup holder, a canopy, reclining seats and folded up. We did not have to fold it for the monorail and even some of the buses. It was great!! They even gave us a name placcard for it. GOOD LUCK with your decision
We have a Maclaren Techno umbrella stroller. Super light weight and folds up small. One of the best things about it is the rain sheild that comes with it, great for those pop up showers We bought our model in 2003 and still looks great. But since Jameson is almost 6 we don't use it anymore.
The one we have is great, but depending on how tall he is, his feet will drag! It's a Kolcraft bought at Kmart (they have it on the website too). The price was right, it is lightweight, has a tray with cupholder, canopy, basket and the best was that is stayed standing when you folded it up...extremely easy to fold and pick up to take on the bus. Oh and it reclines too...we used this stroller WDW twice for dd and she took naps in it no problem!

We had a Maclaren Volo Stroller and loved it! It folded with one hand and was very lightweight, it also has a shoulder strap and when it is folded you just sling it on your shoulder. Very easy getting on and off the buses with it and it does not take up alot of room. The weight limit is like 55 pounds and it has a basket & cupholder.
We have a Combi, I read about it here back in 2006. We have a double stroller but they sell it in singles too. They recline, have a basket, cup holder for you and your child and it is light weight. Ours being a side by side folds up to the size of a golf bag. It was easy taking it on the bus and plane. It folds very easily. They are pretty expensive but if you look at how much money it would cost between renting one and buying it is better to buy for a long stay and it reclines which was a must for our DD's(3&1 at the time). Ours holds up to 45 pounds each seat(90), the singles 55 pounds. They are really light weight. They also have a rain/sun shield and you can purchase a plastic rain shield to go over the whole stroller(great for wind too). They have removable snack/drink trays for kids and removable cup holders for you.
It is a really hard decision I know because I had to choose which to buy(there are so many to choose from) but I am very satisfied with our purchase and after using it all the time for the last 2 years(taking it everywhere!!) it has held up and looks great, I wash the padding often.
My DD(4-37lbs & very tall) doesn't usually sit in it know unless she gets tired(then the other doesn't want to sit) but I still bring it everywhere so I can put things in the seats or when they get tired they hop right in. It is very comfy seats are padded.

Maclaren Techno XLR. It is worth every single penny!!!!! We bought it specifically for traveling. Carries a child up to 65lbs! It reclines fully and the leg rest comes up to make a little bed. The sun canopy is huge when completely unzipped and as a pp mentioned the rain cover is great. I believe the Techno XT is the same stroller but with a smaller weight capacity. I don't know if the sun canopy is as big. This was a major selling point for us. We took it to Atlantis and we were able to spend the entire day away from our accomodations as it basically convered into a bed for our toddler. Can't say enough about this stroller.
We have a Peg Perego Aria OH. It is super light for a full sized stroller (about 9 lbs.), and unfolds with one hand. Really! I loved that about it. It is easy to fold up and it will stand on its own once folded. It has a big basket underneath & it reclines (although not all the way flat). The sun canopy "clamshells" all the way down to protect the child, and if you have an infant & purchase the infant seat, that snaps right in for a travel system. Plus, super cute fabrics.
I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND, HOWEVER, that you go to a store to try the strollers out. As you know, seeing it online or reading good reviews is nothing like actually going in and pushing it around. The ones I thought I would like I hated in person, or DH's feet hit the wheels every step, etc. Anyway, we drove from our small town to a big town with a baby superstore type store and tried them all out, then ordered the PP from Target.com, as that way if we had a problem we could return it to the Target in our town. So far, we love it.
