As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). We have super secret CRT breakfast ressies at 10:05 am. How much time would we need for BBB beforehand? It would be for DD #2 who is 6. It will be our first day at WDW so I know the DD's will be up at chicken thirty to go to MK. We will be traveling from POP. I was considering a 9 am ressie for BBB, is that realistic? I also was only doing the coach package ( and justifying the 50 for that is a little painful ) but hey you only live once and she has expressed an interest in doing BBB. If you have done this package was it worth it? We did Harmony Barber shop last time and the DD's really enjoyed it. DD # 1 will probably opt for that again. Any tips, expereinces will be appreciated! TIA
BBB starts at 8. 9 would normally be okay since they're across the hallway from each other, but that's assuming you start on time. it should run you about half an hour or so.
personally i'd probably shoot for as close to 8 as possible, that way you can get in the park before rope drop (assuming it's not EMH), get that done and out of the way and have 9-10 available for touring in fantasyland. waking tink if you're so inclined, or riding dumbo and the carousel, FP'ing peter pan and/or pooh, etc.
We did BBB on a Pirate/Princess party day, so our experience may be skewed, but they told me the actual appt was about 45 minutes. However, we were taken 45 mins late, so we had to call CP about our lunch and luckily they were fine with changing our ADR for lunch!

I did this for both my kids in January. We had a 10:15 ressie for breakfast and my kids' appointments @ BBB were for 9:30 & 9:40. We got done in plenty of time-had an extra 15 minutes to stand around since the witch at the podium wouldn't "allow" us to check-in @ CRT until 10:10.
I agree, I'd try to book BBB as early as possible. My daughter got that package as well and had a wonderful time. It is definitely worth the $$ for the experience alone, plus the hairstyle lasted well into a third day. If you finish early you can always do a ride or two before breakfast at CRT. I know they don't let you check in much before 15 minutes before your reservation. Have a wonderful trip!
When we did BBB it lasted about 35 min for the middle package (the crown?) To me it was worth the extra $5 for the $50 package as the girls get thier nails painted and get to keep the polish! You will probably be ok if your CRT ADR is for 10 and you do BBB at 9. Just get there early!!

We have done BBB at DTD, so our experience may be different from the castle. We have never gotten in right at our appointment time and it usually takes 40 - 45 minutes to do the crown package, which is the hair, nails and makeup. The whole experience with wait has been right at an hour each time. But you just have a short walk to your breakfast so that could be okay.
As to whether it is worth it, absolutely YES! My DD baskes in all the attention and the feeling of being a princess for days afterwards.
