As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

When we traveled in 2005, I was 3 months pregnant. (Epcot Center, Studios & MK.) Personally, it wasn't fun for me because I felt nauseous ALL the time. (We did the cruise too. You can imagine how that went over. ) It was my first time to WDW too. I'll have to go back just to experience it the right way.
Some general tips.... Even if you can't ride an attraction, you can still wait in line with your family. Just tell the CM before hand and once your family boards, they will show you the way out. For example, Mission to Mar. I was able to go in, watch the previews for the ride then I waited in the game area/store were they would exit. Oh, they have a place in this area where you can send email cards for free. So, I was doing that while waiting. Beats buying, writing, and sending postcards! (Just have to know email addies, so bring your address book.)
I was more of a morning person. We planned to hit the parks when they had the early openings. I was in bed by 5pm, but my family stayed at the park. We had our own rent-a-car, so they dropped me back off at the hotel and headed back. Even if they chose to stay at the hotel, I could rest and they'd go use the pool and/or game room. This was in November, so I can't imagine December whether being my different.
Before we went, I made reservations at restaurants. We never made it to a single one except a character breakfast at the Crystal Palace. It was great because it was a buffet, so my pregnancy cravings were satisfied.
Where comforable shoes.
Drink plenty of liquids.
Rest when you need it.
If you want to ride while you rest at Epcot, go on Spaceship Earth. At Studios there are a lot of slow ride or shows that allow rest while being entertained.
Oh, and my cell phone came in handy. If I was waiting for family and shopped out, I'd phone a friend to chat. Or people watch. That's always a riot.
Enjoy your vacation and on your pregnancy!

I was 7 months pregnant during a trip to WDW and t wasn't bad at all. I made sure to carry around lots of water, and tried my best to stay out of the sun for extended periods. My daughter was able to stand in line, so I didn't have to wrry about carrying her. If I remember correctly, I was able to ride most of the rides with her, except for the Safari at Animal Kingdom. If you prepare yourself you should have a wonderful time. It's really nice to have a vacation before the baby arrives! Have a great time!

I went in 2005 whilst 6.5months. I rode the safari ride in AK (it wasn't recommended) but it was fine. I also did Dinosaur (again not recommended) and was a little queasy afterwards for a few moments. Otherwise I people watched whilst waiting for the rest of my family and I took heaps of photos when I would normally have been riding with the others. Drink heaps, always have a map handy for locating the nearest bathroom, rest at every opportunity. We did EMH and the best times were late nights when the lines were shorter and the weather cooler. Sleep in if you need to and catch up with the rest of your party later. We never did daytime naps, just go, go, go and I was fine. However I did get out of carrying our backpack for most of the time. LOL. Have fun - ENJOY!
RIdes with warnings
You can look at the park maps for the attractions with warnings - they are marked with a red triangle on the map and also on a sign at the entrance to the queue.
Epcot: here are the attractions with warnings:

I will be 5 1/2 months pregnant this summer when we got to DisneyWorld. I will be glad to let you know how it goes after. We plan to take it easier thaan normal and take lots of water with us. I have the special needs Passporter (my son has Autism), it has a pregnancy section which is very helpful.
Sue gave you great advice-pay attention to the warnings that are on the rides. They are well researched and if I paid more attention the last time, I wouldn't have spent several days with muscles spasms! Then the usual, water, rest, water, rest, you get the idea. One of the Guides was at WDW in February and her newest son was born today , so when she is back on the boards, I'll ask her to come over and post in this thread! Congratulations!

My Step-daughter went with us when she was 5 months along. She did every ride she wanted, and didn't experience any problems. I was not happy about this - but she was 26, and could make her own decisions. She also was giving the baby up for adoption, so I don't think she cared as much about it as most people would.
I agree - wait in line for all of the rides until the last minute - there are so many things to look at and experience in line.
Drink lots. Stay out of the sun as much as possible.
At MGM, there are so many really neat little street shows, you'll have no trouble finding something to do.
Anywhere - people watching is just way too fun!! I love doing that more than anything else. And of course - you can watch all of the parents with children and think to yourself "MY child will NEVER act like that!"

Hi this is Eddie's wife. We are going in December for 5 days. I will be 27 weeks along at that time. We will be taking our daughter which will be 4 when we go. I a also scared about the rides I can go on and the ones I can't go on. Please write back to tell me how your trips went and what you were able to do while at WDW.
Number 1 stay hydrated drink drink drink, rest when you need it, even if it is just finding a bench in the shade and people watching for awhile. Take your time, stay away from the rides that have warnings posted(mostly anything that twirls, jerks and otherwise goes too fast). Have a magical time!!!!!
I think common sense should be used, If you think it's not a good ride to go on, Don't go.
Listen to your body, listen to your heart. If it seems too bouncy, jerky, wild to you, skip it. You know you will return to WDW. You can ride it next time. I think a baby is more important than a ride..
When the baby grows up you can all go to WDW & you can say, I didn't ride rock n roller coaster because I loved you so much when you were in my belly, So now we will ride together side by side
I went to Disneyland when I was 5ish months along and DD was 3.5. What I loved about that trip was I had no choice but to take it easy and not go on the "big" rides. So that trip was all about her and the rides she wanted to do...
Yes, stay hydrated. If you pregnancy is typical, you'll feel pretty good at 6 months. But you won't be able to walk as much as when you aren't pregnant. So take it easy and keep off the rides where suggested.
