As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I would like to hear what resort to you consider the most romantic and great for couples and why?
My husband and I are planning a three night weekend trip for our Anniversary since it falls on a Saturday this year, and we will be childless for the first time in 6 years, and want to try something different more geared toward couples than kids.

I would say hands down, the Polynesian. And the stroll between the Poly and GF is lovely. I need to get the pics up - I just finished taking sunset photo-walk pics there. (It took 4 days!)
Our favorites for romance are the GF and AKL. Can't beat location and pampering at GF as well as the great restarants at the resort and on the monorail. We also just love the atmosphere at AKL for a real splurge how about the concierge level to do the sunrise or sunset safari. Have a great trip, there is no place better than WDW for romance for us!

POFQ is perfect in the moderate category, IMHO.
For deluxe - they are all special, but I would pick The Poly or the WL.
I don't think any of the Values are the least bit romantic (sorry).
I have the 40% off coupon code, so I feel like I should use it for a Deluxe, but I am still on a budget. The more I save the better we can eat. But I think that WL offers the most for the money. I like the private balconys and the requested turn down service. My style is more POR, but my husband would enjoy WL and with such a great deal, I do not know how we could lose.
These are the two I was going to suggest!!! Seeing as how you have a large discount code, I would chose the more expensive resort . . . They are both romantic, so you really can't go wrong. You might enjoy the WL better, as it is more centrally located, and it's got a nice variety of restaurants and activities. Let us know what you finally decide.
WL is the least expensive of the deluxes. Since you are saving a percentage of the room cost, the savings should bring the prices even closer. I would definitely do WL if you can.
If you want to save money, I would go with POR, they have the horse drawn carriage ride. WL would be great because you are centrally located and the private balcony is great you can sip some wine and relax right there. They are both great choices. With 40% I would treat myself it seems as though you both deserve it, 6 years and no getaway. My DH & I have had one in 4yrs and it was for a wedding not our choice on where to stay. Enjoy it who knows when you will get another chance. CONGRATS on your Anniversary!!!

We decided on WL, because it is a deluxe and you cannot beat a 40% off deal. I could have gotten POR with the DDP and tickets cheaper. But I decided we do not need the DDP, because for us it is cheaper to pay OOP for the places we want to eat and one of the places we want to go is not on the DDP. So I figured since we are not doing a package we can have the Deluxe Room.
I am waiting now to hear back from my travel agent.
I think it depends on what style of resort you personally like. I find the Beach Club, BoardWalk, ANimal Kingdom Lodge and Yacht Club all romantic, but I know a lot of people like the Poly and Grand Floridian - personally neither do a lot for us. Out of the moderates, we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside on our honeymoon and found it very romantic.
