As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I know there are a few posted before that they watch this show and thought I would post about the nice ending to this weeks show.
Not the fact that Julia went as I love her, though I think it was the right choice. I thought it was really nice that Gordon Ramsey for the first time is sending a contestant to Culinary school.
Gordon is sending Julia to culinary school cause he thinks she has something special and some great talent. Told her to come back on the show after she completes school and win it all
Julia is great, but yeah, she just does not have the experience. I think with school she is going to be an awsome chef
I agree. I loved the fact that he recognized her skills; for a short-order cook with a limited menu to make it so far shows an amazing amount of maturity and natural skill from her. And for him to do that, that was awesome! I really, really liked her, and can't wait for an update on how she's doing!

The thing about Julia though, is that if you showed her how to make something, she was always able to do it. That's what used to irritate me about the rest of the girls on her team that were always ragging on her for being a short-order cook. I mean, Julia would be on her station, and even if things weren't going right, she'd still plug away which is more than you can say for some of the other girls (AHEM BONNIE!) who stand and bawl and throw tantrums.
What I thought was really great about Julia was that she really had her pulse on what people want to eat. I mean, I guess the point of this show is to give the winner their own restaurant and let them go on to gourmet masterpieces, but for most of us, do you really want to eat a quail's egg? Or do you just want a nice strip steak, cooked to perfection?
Everyone likes to try new things once in a while, but I find what keeps me going back to my favorite restaurants is knowing that they're going to always have SOMETHING that I like. And that's why I think that it's such crap that he got rid of Julia before Bonnie.
Also, does anyone else think that this year's competitors are, as a whole, totally unimpressive? I don't like Rock at all, and I can't stand Jen. I don't think she's strong enough to run a kitchen on her own....and she kind of like, moans around all the time before acting like she's the queen and just bosses everyone around. And don't get me started on Bonnie.

I agree with you Janine I liked her, thought she did a great job, and was sad to see her go! How great for him to send her to culinary school, he must see something very special in her! I'm not really impressed with the rest of the bunch left though
What a shock to see a nice side! We watch GR in HK and also his Kitchen Nightmares on BBC. He's a riot to watch at times.
I have mixed feelings about Julia going. Is she up to par with all the culinary things? No, but she seemed to have a level-headed personality compared to those who are left! I'd rather see her going to the finale than Bonnie or Jen. I know mistakes are made, but everytime I think of Jen I think of the spaghetti taken out of the trash and my stomach feels ill! And Bonnie is just another story!
I'm sorry to see her go, but so happy she has such an opportunity! I hope she has taken full hold of it and storms the culinary world!
I agree with all that was said. i kinda had hopes for Brad. I liked Julia too she seemed real. Rock has a BAD attitude he can't handle the pressure. I too wouldn't want to eat at a restruant where I knew the chef took anything out of the trash and was going to serve it to me. I don't care if it was on a piece of paper or card board not touching actual trash it was in the bin bottom line. I do not do that to my family!! Bonnie is just a whiney baby and a name caller. I love GR it is straight to the point no holds bar. YOU DONKEY!! I love that saying for some reason.
I am not impressed with the others either. Jen gets on my nerves big time, I was soooo hoping to see her go. She is much to bossy, thinks she is better then everyone else, and takes spagetti out of the trash? ewwwwww.
Rock does have too much of a temper I agree.
Bonnie? She keeps saying she is a nanny, but didn't she say something to the fact she does not change diapers, she cooks thier dinners?
The way she said it, it sounded like thats all she does is make thier meals. Thats not a nanny.
OMG! When he sent that one dude packing right in the middle of the service, I was totally cracking up. Bahahaha. You could literally see the steam coming from both of their ears.
I used to like Rock until he started showing his temper. Of the ones left, I guess I don't care who wins. They are all annoying.

I so was cracking up too. I feel the same about Rock. Bonnie, I soo can't see her being a head chef anywhere And Jen, well she is just bossy and leaves her fellow chefs hanging. Couple of weeks ago she did not comuncate at all with any of the others, Bonnie and Julia at different times tried to get her to talk and had a hard time of it because of it.
This is in Bloomsburg PA where my youngest will be attending college. I told him there's no way I could go to that restaurant. Call me paranoid, but I still can't stomach the thought of her digging food out of the trash.
I sure hope not. I really am not too pleased with this season at all. We pegged Rock to win in the begining but then his attitude came through. I SOOOOO DON"T want Bonnie to win.
