As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I have been working on this album for almost 18 months and today just completed my page for the letter "J".
I thought if I posted my pages, you guys, who are always so supportive, would give me the encouragement and motivation I need to finish it. Even Grumpy, who pretends to have no interest in, but fully supports my hobby, made a comment about the fact that this album is not done!
So here are some of the pages.
Cover page:
This is the only page I like of the album. The calendar has the dates we were at WDW in teal, with little Mickey heads on each day. The tag at the top of the calendar pulls out to reveal hidden journaling. All of my pages are in protectors, so I used an exacto knife to cut a slit for the tag to slide in and out of.
A:
The picture of Kiara in front of the AK lift ups to reveal journaling. Again, I cut around the matt with an exacto knife.
B:
The tags at the top of the picture of Belle pull out and have journaling on them.
Sorry for the horrible glare on some of the pictures. I just wasn't up to pulling them out of the protectors to take pictures.
Nala, as always, your pages are gorgeous. So full of details, and since you are doing a double page spread, I can see why you are up to J. But I also know from all of your postings, that you are working on other albums besides this one, so I wouldn't worry about your progress. Overall, you are getting quite a bit done.
By the way, I adore your title page. I'm going to have to scraplift your calendar idea, that is too cute. Now to search out a tiny Mickey head punch!
More hidden journaling on the tag at the side of the photo of Cinderella castle. This one was made from a paint swatch, and I used another paint swatch glued on chipboard to make the tag on the second page. I think the Home Depot is starting to wonder about me!
D & E:
The center photo on the "D" page will lift up for journaling and the tags behind the Everest photo will also have journaling,
I kind of gave up on the journaling as I figured I could drop it in later, once I had the pages done.
Another paint swatch for journaling at the top of the photo of the three of us. It is the part of the word "family" that starts with the M and is teal.
G:
Again, more hidden journaling on a tag behind the picture of Goofy that needs to be done. And something very funky going on with my flash in the right hand corner of all these pages!
WOW!! I bow to the master. I may never do another scrapbook again. This book is beautiful. I can't understand why you don't like it--unless it's cause it is taking a lot of time and effort. It sure looks like it does! I may have to "borrow" the idea, though mine would not even come close to what yours looks like. WONDERFUL! Can't wait to see the rest!
I can't wait to see more! I love them. The calander on the cover with the Mickey heads on the dates is so cool. If I ever get back to WDW, I want to do an A to Z book. I might try with photo's I already have.
Your pages are wonderful, don't fret about "only" being up to J!! I am 4 trips behind..... (well parts of 4 trips!) I have to jump around or go buggie brained. You have to do what you are inspired to do when you have the time and TOOOOyOOOL's to make masterpieces. Great job, and when can we see MORE!?? Sara

Nala - What can I say?! Those pages leave me speechless! I Looove all of them! You are so creative and artsy - the work that you put into each page is evident! I would love to have a day to look through all your books - I'm sure I would be awestruck!
Keep going on the ABC album - it's fantastic!

Wow, Nala, your pages are beautiful, I can't understand why you only like the cover page. All of them are great. What a fun idea to do the calendar, I think many of us are going to scraplift that one! I like the embellishments on the big letters. I'm guessing they are chipboard. The rhinestones on it are so darn cute. I'm for certain going to scraplift that one! I just bought some chipboard letters but haven't used them yet.
Keep working on those pages you don't like and keep posting them, we all like them!

I them! I also don't understand why you don't like them???????? They are gorgeous!
They are not traditional Mickey Mouse (you know, the red and black theme) but they are so very Disney with all the Disney touches like brads and hidden mickey heads.
Keep them coming! We want to see more.
I'd say I was going to scraplift some ideas, but who am I kidding??? I can't do anything close to this.
Nala~your pages are beautiful! I love the big letters that you have used on each page as well as all the little hidden details. I can't wait to see more!
