As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Okay, guys! I know that there are some of you out there (Bill, Bob) who've been doing scrapbookking. I'm trying to get my DH to join me in my endeavors, because I have soooooooooooo much stuff that needs scrapping. If you'd post some of your pages, and some words of encouragement for him, I think he might be induced to give it a try! Please???? Thanks in advance.....
PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
My hubby will never post, but he does scrap! He actually did a lot of our wedding album (I'll have to post pics later) and he scrapbooks pictures of his work for a portfolio. All the women think it's SO cool! Also, there is a gentleman who regularly goes to "my" Archiver's (by himself) and is scrapping his family history. Very cool, very different than how women scrap, but his books are SO detailed! It's a very fun thing to do together on those long, cold winter nights by the fireplace.

Almost all of the men that I have ever seen scrapbook have been doing their family history.
I have seen a few men come with their wife to a crop and sort pictures or "run and get me a navy blue sheet of paper" or "corner round these corners" of a picture. I wish I could get my husband to be a helper!!

I am VERY fortunate that my DH is one of those men!!!
He was a BIG reason I got anything done at our Archiver morning scrap at the MOA Passporter 2006 Meet (as I'm sure all that were there will attest to).

Yes, we were all envious! Jana was only there about 1/2 the amount of time I was but got so much done!
My husband has no desire to scrap, but if he did, I think he'd be better at it than I am. He's much more artistic than I am and cooks and sews better. I often go to him and ask for help on placement, "do you like it this way or this way better" and he's got a great eye. But, sorry I can't help!
Well, I've made some progress - He actually went to JoAnne's and bought an album for his growing-up/family pix.....now to get him to do some actual scrapping.....
Dh and my two sons ages 14 and 10 made these pages for a scrap book the each family member made for DH's mom's 80th bday. I have to admit only DS age 10 was good at layout, he loves to scrap and has a great eye. But, you could show your DH and tell him I helped.
First is DS's age 10, next is DS's age 14 and last is DH. They are 8.5 X 11, that was tough to do after being used to scrapping 12 X 12! Each did their own journaling, it's pretty funny to read the kids, but you may not be able to read in the post. Also, this was a challenge because my MIL won't ever let us take pics of her. She doesn't like to see herself in photos, I guess. At my DS's first communion, she wouldn't pose with him because she didn't like the way her hair turned out that day, yeah, you read that right!

Thanks for sharing Michelle. Those are really good. I was able to read the boys' pages, but not your DHs. Your mom must be a good cook!! I want some of that dessert. But sorry, I don't like deviled eggs or spinach balls!! (Your moms recipes sound like my mom's - "Oh, add a handful of this and enough of that to cover, etc.").
Those should be good inspiration for the men scrappers!!!

I would never even attempt to get my DH or DS to scrapbook, they have absolutely no interest in it. But that is fine with me, sometimes I need to do something to keep them away for a while
