As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I sat down with Richard and we looked at pretty much every TS menu online to determine our plans for this trip. Of course I have some favorites that I prefer not to skip, but I also wanted him to have some input. It is HIS first trip after all! With that said, these are our ADRs…
12/7 (Arrival Day) – our plan is to get up in the middle of the night and head down (we’ll drive) and we should arrive around 11am or so. We will probably get lunch at Earl of Sandwich after we check in and while we wait on our room to be ready. Then we will need a nap!
6:45pm – Kona Café – then after dinner I hope to head down to the beach at the Poly and watch Wishes.
12/8 – Going to start the day at Magic Kingdom, will just do a QS lunch – maybe try out BOG.
That evening, we’ll head over to DHS to enjoy the Osborne lights and then…
7:05pm – Sci-Fi – I think he will really enjoy the atmosphere here! We’ve already discussed ordering some onion rings, shakes and burgers!
12/9 – Spending the day at EPCOT. Hopefully lunch will be at La Hacienda QS, my favorite! Richard’s favorite foods are Mexican and Asian, so I feel strongly that I’ll get what I’m wishing for
5:10pm – ‘Ohana! I REALLY think he will love this all-you-can-eat, endless meat situation. And since dinner is so early and MK has EMH this night, maybe we’ll hop on over afterwards.
12/10 – Animal Kingdom Day 12:30pm – lunch at Yak & YetiTS. As I said my husband loves Asian, so he’s really looking forward to this meal. I’ve only done the QS at Y&Y. But I enjoyed it. And I’ve read a lot of good things about the TS. Might have to try my first Yak Attack!
7:45pm – Raglan Road. This will be a first for me. As I mentioned, my husband is a musician and he LOVES live music and asked if we could give this a shot. If you’ve been, tell me your recommendations, please! I’ve read a lot of good comments on here already about it.
12/11 – Spending the day DHS and I know Richard is going to try and get me on ToT. That is one ride I refuse to get on! That and Splash Mtn (I hate those drops). Anywho, if I haven’t gotten sick, we’ll surely just do some QS for lunch. Maybe we’ll head over to B&C since the QS options at this park aren’t the best.
6:40pm – Yachtsman Steakhouse – YUM! Richard is definitely a steak lover. So this should be a highlight. I’ve gotten to eat here one other time and it was amazing. I’m so excited to go back!
We may stroll over to Jellyrolls after dinner. I’ve never been, but think we’d really enjoy this. Is there a cover charge?
12/12 – We don’t have any park planned for the morning. We may either re-visit some favorite rides or will go tour the resorts with their Christmas decorations (my preference)! But then we’ll head over to Epcot because we have a Candlelight Processional dining package!
3:30pm – Via Napoli. Another first for me! Can’t wait to try their pizza! We’ll eat and then maybe kill some time around WS before the CP! We are going to the one at 6:45 and afterwards we’ll watch Illluminations from the special viewing spot! I’ve never done CP before, so I’m very excited. We’ve happened upon it before, but were standing in the back and it was toward the end. So, I can’t wait to experience it this way!
12/13 – Departure Day L
No set dining plans this day, although I certainly wouldn’t mind dropping by Sassagoula for some beignets on our way out!
I’m excited about our ADR plans! I’m also excited to try some new places. Via Napoli has been on my list for a while now, since it opened I guess! And my mom and I were going to go to Yak & Yeti a couple of trips back, but she ended up sick that day and had to stay behind while I explored AK on my own. So we ended up canceling that ADR.
OH and today is our 60 day mark! I can check in online starting today! Planning to also finish paying off our trip this evening! Gotta use my Disney Visa to get some Reward Points Lots of exciting things to look forward to!
Next up: some pre-packing and shopping

I like your plans! And POFQ sounds perfect for you especially since you went to NO on your honeymoon. We stayed there once and it.
Firstly, Congrats on your marriage!! I sometimes still feel like a bride, and we are hitting 12 years this year I think we must not be too far from you. I would describe us as almost the very middle of Tennessee. So, secondly, Hello Neighbor!!
As another person who hates drops in general especially any straight down drop (after the Free Fall at Six Flags in Atlanta, I wanted to kill the ppl who dragged me on it and then die myself!), I submit that you might possibly like ToT. I do
Depending on why you don't like drops (personally I hate anything that drops far enough to cause that strong feeling in my stomach. The one you feel mildly if you go over a hill too fast on TN backroads That doesn't bother me, but when it keeps going and going......no thanks! I don't love it on Splash Mtn, but hubby loves to ride it and it is just a nice long ride that I feel the few seconds at the end that I don't really enjoy are worth it. If you feel much more strongly than I do, Splash may never really be for you........but it is a lot of ride for the wait
ToT only gives you the TN backroad feeling without allowing it to go on too long. That is because you never get to the bottom........you fall a bit and then bounce back up, so it never really makes your stomach feel sick. At least it doesn't make mine feel sick.....just fluttery, which I can deal with. I am explaining badly, but you might like it if you give it a shot. My hubby begged me, so I tried it with him (entirely FOR him too....pretty scared all the way), but I found that I quite like it
And I am not sure if there is always a cover at Jellyrolls.......seems like we've paid it one night when we got there kinda late, and didn't pay one several years ago when we got there early before it was hopping. But it is an awesome evening and definitely worth the cover IMHO!!

....regarding Raglan Road ...we just went for the first time about 6 weeks ago ...and it was great!! My 17 yr old daughter is also a multi-instrument musician (violin, viola, fiddle, cello, guitar, piano, drums) .... and loved the live music there. The food was great too.... (my wife RAVED about a burger .....with the Tomato Chutney ...said it was one of the best burgers she's ever had)
Those sound like great plans! Lots of fun things to look forward too. I adore ToT......however, it took me several years to get to that point. 5 years ago in DL was my first real loop-de-loop roller coaster...now, I'm on them whenever I get the chance! My husband and I went on a special date last year to Elitch Gardens because finally I was willing to ride all the rides with him that HE loves. SO fun growing old together, well, older, since we're in our mid-30s. lol.

Awesome start. Its kind of funny as you and I have a bunch of similarities. My DH's name is Richard too. We went on our honeymoon at Disney as well about a month after we got married (I had to finish school). Our honeymoon was my husband's first time going as well and I was nervous he might not love it as much as me. Hopefully your husband has the same reaction as mine which was as we pulled up to MK for the first time he turned to me and said "we have to come back!" (Fast forward to him insisting we buy into DVC and being as excited if not more to be going back every year).
I can't wait to read more!
Just joining in. Your plans sound great! I love all your dining choices! We did Yachtsman Steakhouse for the first time this past September and it was outstanding!
We opted to each get an appetizer and split an entree and a dessert. It worked out very well for us that way. Raglan Road is one of our favorites! I got the salmon last time and really enjoyed it. If you have room for dessert, the bread and butter pudding and the strawberry and apple crumble are both out of this world!
