As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

At the pit stop teams received a smartphone from Phil to book their flights to Milan, Italy using the Travelocity app. Also Liz &Mike work things out. I hope it helps them. The teams talk about the Double U Turn and plan to take out Vanck & Ashton.
The teams are all on the same flight and race out to cabs once the land. Mike & Liz get their cab to pass Vanck & Ashton.
One team member - and only four team members per trolley - had to ride Tram Ristorante ATMosfera, a dining tram which tours Downtown Milan, to find three marked words along the ride: Cernobbio, Concordia, and Lago. For the duration of the ride, teams had to finish a plate of gnocchi and ravioli in order to complete the ride. At the end of the ride, they must recite the three correct words to the tram conductor to receive their next clue. If they failed to say all three words, they had to perform the task again.
Tara, Mike, Vanck, Redmond, Scott, Floyd, and Logan
Tara and Mike are on the first Tram and decide to work together to find the words. Scott, Redmond, Floyd, and Vanck are on the second Tram. No one was to play with each other.
Since the second Tram was full Logan had to sit and wait for the next tram to come.
Vanck only got two clues and has to ride the Tram again. Scott, Redmond and Floyd also miss one word and have to ride.
The clues say they must head to Lake Cumo. At Cernobbio, teams had to claim a departure time for the following morning, each with a 5-minute interval beginning at 7:00 AM to the final time at 7:30 AM, from a lifesaver on a steamboat named Concordia. At their designated times, teams opened their next clue which told them to travel to a garden along Greenway dei Patriarchi in the village of Varenna to find their next clue.
Joe & Tara do not U Turn anyone. Mike & Liz U turn Vanck & Ashton. Mike & Liz see Becca & Floyd and tell them to U turn themselves to burn it. This way Vanck & Ashton are the only ones doing both detours.
Both Detour choices had teams take a taxi boat to the village of Menaggio.
Make a Mold: teams had to travel to Castello de Vezio and assemble a ghost figure by using a teammate as a wire mesh mold for plaster mold casting. After the plaster solidified to create the figure, they would be given the next clue.
Tara & Joey, Vanck & Ashton, and Logan & London
Grab a Hold: teams had to travel to L'Angolo Benedetto Castelli, where one team member would climb 90 feet (27 m) up the face of a rock to retrieve their next clue, while their partner belayed the line from the bottom.
Mike & Liz, Floyd & Becca, Brooke & Scott, and Vanck & Ashton
How cool was make mold. That would have been fun, and did anyone else get annoyed with Brooke and her whining? Hope the go next.
After finishing the Detour, teams had to take another taxi boat to the village of Tremezzo to find their next Pit Stop along the shoreline at Teresio Olivelli Park.
First place was a foot race. Becca & Floyd edged out Redmond & Matt by just seconds
I really like Becca she one cool gal.
So next time some carry a tune and some carry a grudge. Till then get some cheese to go with that whine my Racing Peeps!!
I think Michael & Liz only get along when they're doing well. I was disappointed he didn't apologize to her , when she apologized to him.

I need to go to Lake Como - it was gorgeous! Plus, I need a restaurant where I can ride around and eat delicious food!

I so agree with you. I couldn't stand her last week with her whining and all I could think last night was "not, again. I can't stand to listen to her." Every week it is something with her, isn't it. The first week she fell, then last week it was whatever she was doing. Last night it was the rock climb. Who knows what it'll be next week.
